I went straight to the large bathroom of Elena's room. Fortunately, I took a shower. I stared at myself in the large mirror and applied the gown I was holding. I felt nervous while trying to measure it. Only now can I wear this kind of clothing and I’m not sure if I can take it with such elegance.
After many times of thinking, I got dressed. When I looked in the mirror again, I was just amazed when I saw the entirety of the gown. It’s V-neck style and has a long slit up to my thigh. My back is also exposed. The fabric wrapped around my waist and the end of it danced as if following my every move. I even winced when I saw my cleavage clearly but the whole thing was really beautiful. I wore the glitter black and gold platform pumps included in this gown and then finally came out when I heard Elena and Riley outside, telling me that the makeup artist has arrived already.
It was exactly five o'clock when I finished. Even though I haven't seen my overall appearance yet, I think everything is fine because of Riley and Elena's reactions.
“Social party isn’t it? I'm sure your ex and your brat sister will be there too. You look exactly right. The face of revenge!” Riley nodded and pushed me towards the large mirror.
When I saw how I looked, my mouth fell open. My make-up is very simple and like my gown, my lipstick is also red. My hair remained loose but curled at the ends of it. I almost didn’t recognize myself.
“Apollo's outside, Ana. Shall I let him in?” Elena said to me so I quickly turned to her and shook my head. I didn't speak anymore and went to the room where Amari was. I excused myself to her teacher first and when we were left alone, she smiled when she saw me.
"You're beautiful, mommy," she said to me and hugged me.
“Mommy will go somewhere for a while, baby. Behave here, okay?” I told her softly. She looked up at me and her smile widened.
"I will sleep too early so I can dream of daddy again," she said excitedly.
I was shocked when I heard that. I didn’t expect that to be what she would say. Is she really dreaming about him? A few nights ago, I heard her say "daddy" while she was sleeping but she didn't tell me anything else about it. What's happening?
I stayed with Amari for a few more minutes before finally saying goodbye to her. I grabbed the pouch I was going to take and quickly got out. Hector exposed himself to me leaning on the side there while frowning. He was looking at his cell phone.
“Uhm…” I stuttered.
As soon as he looked up at me, I quickly saw him looking at me from head to toe. When our eyes met, he bit his lip a little and then approached me.
He didn’t speak and just hugged me tightly. I was waiting for what he would say but until we got in his car, he was still silent so I slapped him on the arm.
“Aw! What was that for?” He hissed. His jaw tightened.
“Tell me how I look. Why are you silent there? Is it because I don't look good— ”
“You have looks to die for, baby. I can't even say a thing,” he interrupted me so my face immediately warmed up. I didn't know what to say. "I want to kiss you but I'm afraid your lipstick will be ruined."
"I can retouch, Hector," I told him immediately. I no longer restrained myself. I pulled him to his necktie and gave him a deep kiss. When I felt that there was more to it, I separated from him because it might be going somewhere else.
“Damn. You're teasing me, huh,” he whispered to me when he looked at me. I just laughed and a little later, he took a small box out of his pocket. I was exposed to infinity and heart necklace.
"What is that?" I stupidly asked him. He did not answer. Instead, he gently pulled my hair to my left shoulder and then put the necklace around my neck. My heart keep beating faster while his face was so close to mine. After that, I even felt his soft kiss on my neck so I almost cringed there.
“Just a simple gift for my stunning wife,” he said in his hoarse voice and kissed me again quickly before starting the engine.
It was only about an hour later when we arrived at the venue. I almost backed away when I saw the media waiting at the main entrance of the place of the event. There are also a lot of people so I feel like I'm going to have anxiety attacks especially when I get out of Hector's car.
“You’re tensed. Relax. I'm here,” Hector whispered to me and quickly took my hand and put it on his arm. He even kissed me quickly on the side of my head and that didn’t escape the media cameras.
“Am I well dressed? I'm embarrassed, Hector,” I whispered to him as we walked towards the entrance. It was still on the red carpet and there were already a lot of people inside. I could see that just outside.
“You’re beyond gorgeous, baby. Fuck the media. Just focus on me. I won't leave you,” he told me softly. I couldn't even answer anymore.
As soon as we stepped on the red carpet, the media started taking pictures of us. I looked up at Hector. He just looks straight ahead so I just imitated him too. Once we entered the venue, I was even more appreciative of the many people there. Obviously wealthy and professional because of its attire. I would have shrunk for myself but Hector immediately contradicted it, so I just smiled.
“Let’s go. They are in front,” he invited me and continued to hold my hand tightly.
"Who?"
"Mom and dad," he said so I was shocked and started to get nervous.
"But they can't see me," I countered with him and immediately remembered my last encounter with Donya Valeria. She was very angry with me for what I had done to her son
We stopped walking and Hector finally confronted me. He stared at me. His eyes were passionate and sincere.
“They already know about us, and I don’t care whether they accept it or not. I will fight for you, so chin up and be confident…” he comforted me. I bit my lower lip. Next, I felt his kiss on my hand.
“… And I love you,” he said in his raspy voice. I just nodded and clung to him again. I could clearly see everyone looking at us as we walked in the middle. Nervously, I kept my expression relaxed.
When we got to the front, I was almost on my knees when I saw Don Damien and Donya Valeria. Their eyes quickly focused on me.
"Son, you're here… and you brought someone with you," Donya Valeria greeted him and turned to me. "Welcome back, hija."
"Good evening," I just greeted them.
“I only went because dad wanted to. Don't make me leave, ma,” Hector seemed threatening so I looked at him. I was about to speak but I was stunned when I saw who had just arrived. Like their parents, they focused their gaze on me, especially Agatha clinging to Ares’ arm.
"What are you doing here?" She asked me and even looked at me from head to toe so I raised an eyebrow.
“Don't tell me you—”
“She has the right to be here because she is my wife. Keep your opinions to yourself, Agatha.” Hector cut her off so I was surprised. Ares looked at him sharply.
“You still have a fucking gut to be here after you caused so much trouble? And you even brought up a lie? What do you want this time, huh?” Ares told him emphatically so I was alarmed.
"Stop it, you two." Don Damien immediately rebuked them. I just heard Hector laugh so I tightened my grip on him.
“Ask dad why I came here, fucker. And Solei is not a lie. It's true that she's, my wife. We got married the night of her bachelor's party. Truth fucking hurts, right?” Hector finally said that everyone was surprised even me.
