I stumbled back, my fingers grazing my stinging chin.

I shot to my feet and ran back to the forest, deciding it would be wiser to hunt first and complete my daily quest of punching a tree later.
Rabbits.
Yeah, as if they'd be waiting for me.
I wandered in circles around the mountain, searching for even one.
No luck.
The scorching sun of the demon realm was draining me, but I didn't dare rest under the trees. No telling what those living bastards would do to me.
As I ventured deeper into the forest, I noticed several trees drying up—some already dead. Perfect candidates to punch later.
Then, I heard a cry from my right.
I turned and saw a tree.
A female tree, judging by the femanine humanoid shape of its bark. And it was crying.
I stepped closer and spotted a white rabbit beside it. Unlike normal rabbits, this one had a horn—currently buried deep into the tree's bark.
I activated my Appraisal skill and—crap!

This thing wasn't just any rabbit—it fed on mana, draining trees dry to strengthen itself and its magic.
It could use magic.
"Hey..." I muttered, hurling a rock at it.
The rabbit snapped its head toward me, its glowing purple eyes brimming with malice.
I gulped.
Why the hell was I getting intimidated by a rabbit?
Clenching my fists, I charged.
It sprang backward, pulling its horn from the tree as the tree let out a relieved sigh.
"You're a fast one, aren't you? Rabbit," I muttered, drawing the dagger Rose had given me from my scabbard. "Well, let's fight to the death."
For a split second, I swear I saw it smirk—before it unleashed a massive wave of purple lightning straight at me.
CRACK!
Pain exploded through my body. I collapsed, completely paralyzed by the lightning, unable to move even a finger.
Dammit!
I quickly glanced at my screen.

Plenty.
I switched to my Stat Points and maxed out Speed and Stealth for the first time. Then, I healed myself, instantly recovering from the lightning strike.
The rabbit had already returned to sucking mana from the tree, completely ignoring me.
Big mistake.
For the first time, I felt a powerful aura radiating from me. Moving like a ghost, I dashed at the rabbit at max speed. It barely registered my presence before I struck—sinking my dagger into its skin.
SNAP!
The blade shattered.
Its skin was tough as hell.
My PP wasn't high enough to max out Strength, so I boosted it halfway. No dagger? Fine. Time for brute force.
The rabbit, still cocky, lashed out another lightning strike.
It was slow.
I dodged effortlessly as l saw Its expression twisting in shock.
I used that split second to my advantage and lunged forward, pummeling it with my fists, punch after punch, but each punch felt like l was slamming into metal, but I kept going. Until...
CRACK!
Its skull caved in.
The rabbit dropped dead.
Panting, I slumped beside its body as my temporary buffs wore off.
"Uh... thank you, sir," came a nervous voice behind me.
The female tree.
I turned, smirking. "Nothing is free in this world, Mrs... Tree, I guess."
"I'm sorry, I don't have any fruits to offer right now," she said, voice trembling.
"Hah! Who said I wanted your lowly fruits? I'd be damned if I ate something from a talking tree that looks human. I mean, you even have breasts. Makes me curious... what else do you have?"
"I... uh..."
"Hahaha! Relax, I'm a pervert, but I wouldn't go that far."
She let out a relieved sigh.
"But I do need a reward," I continued, cracking my knuckles.
"Huh?"
"You heard me. Let me punch you. A hundred times."

"I did just save you."
"I... I guess I owe you for that. Do as you wish."
Grinning, I threw my first punch—right below what looked like her breast.
She let out a cry.
Not a pained cry.
More like... a high-pitched one.
Like she was enjoying it.
I heard another tree groan beside me, a distinctly male voice filled with anger.
"Sorry, dude if she's your wife. But I gotta complete this quest!"
A hundred punches later, I finally stopped, grabbed my dead rabbit, and headed back to Rose's house.
Who would've known that hunting rabbits in the Demon Realm could be this hard!
But to get stronger, l didn't need this kind of training. I wanted something that'd increase my magic capacity, and allow me to unleash fire as strong as Rose's .
I wanted to be OP, fly over the clouds and become the strongest in the world.
But l guess that's not gonna be easy to achieve.
