Renata was outraged, Melvin's treatment seemed deliberate to humiliate her. Renata entertained herself by buying some fashion magazines. Arriving at Melvin's house, Renata saw Aleta watching television in the living room.
The magazines, of which there were several, Renata crashed in front of Aleta, making the woman startled.
"Hey, don't you see me here?" screeched Aleta, annoyed at almost jumping in surprise. Her eyes glared at Renata.
"I'm pissed!" she exclaimed as she flopped down on the sofa. Sitting right next to Aleta.
"Upset?" repeated Aleta, her forehead wrinkling. "Why are you upset? You're the one who interrupted me from watching my favorite series!"
Renata snorted, the annoyance in her heart not yet extinguished, "Melvin just insulted me, and also left me for Danas and his son!"
Hearing that, Aleta sighed. "You, too, are not subtle enough," she quipped. "My son does love you, but that doesn't mean Melvin can be indifferent to the child in her womb."
Renata picked up one of the magazines she had bought earlier. "What else should I do? Do I have to use harsh methods?"
"If you think you have to use that method, you're wrong, dear," Aleta replied in a firm tone. Without looking at Renata.
Renata just sighed, seeing models wearing fashionable clothes was entertaining. So she could forget her frustration for a moment. "I've lost my mind to get Melvin off my mind. Especially since Danas got pregnant. Just now Melvin wanted to accompany Danas," Renata snorted while flipping through the magazine.
Aleta only glanced at Danas, then sighed. "Your own fault, you don't know how to conquer Melvin's heart," Aleta belittled Renata.
Meanwhile, Renata was inwardly getting furious. But what she saw in the magazine caught her attention more. So, for a while, her eyes focused on one of the trending clothing fashions.
Aleta occasionally glanced at Renata who was busy with her magazines. Opening one, then comparing the picture with another magazine, made Aleta shake her head. What was Renata's intention?
"Why are you looking at magazines like that?"
"I'm just comparing pictures with each other. Anyway, it's none of your business. Mind your own business," Renata's tone was high.
Aleta didn't answer anything else. She just shrugged her shoulders, just like Renata, Aleta was also more interested in watching television.
Renata was then jolted by the vibration of her cell phone in her bag. At first she didn't want to pick it up, maybe it was from a friend, or Melvin. Because she was still upset, Renata ignored it.
But, her cell phone continued to vibrate, Renata also gradually got annoyed with herself, because she didn't want to be disturbed by anyone at this time.
"You better answer your phone, it's noisy, you know?"
Renata took the cell phone that was in her bag. Renata's eyes widened when she saw an unknown number appear on her cell phone screen. Even though the number was unknown, Renata knew who was calling her, someone from her past.
This can't be! Renata thought to herself. Renata rejected the call, it did not please her. Her face turned pale. She closed all her magazines in a hurry.
Renata's hunch was that if the man rejected her call, he would call her again.
And sure enough, the man called Renata again, ah, bad! Renata cursed to herself. "I... I wanna take this conversation somewhere else," she said.
Aleta shrugged indifferently. Aleta shook her head at Renata's movements. But no matter, Aleta judged that Renata was in a hurry to contact Melvin, maybe! After all, Aleta thought Renata was quite stupid, how could she not know how to conquer Melvin. Claiming to love Melvin, what nonsense! Aleta cursed in her heart.
Renata stuttered, her hands trembling as she received the call. Even though she knew her safety would be threatened if she received the call.
Renata swallowed, preparing herself and mentally. "Hello?" she greeted.
"Renata... Renata, how are you, dear? It's been a long time since we greeted each other. Are you okay?"
"Where did you get my phone number, huh?"
"Do you doubt my loyalty? I can find out from anywhere, darling. Even if you've changed your phone number several times."
"Stop beating around the bush, let's get to the point," Renata challenged boldly. What she was afraid of was that he would dare to go to the place where Renata was currently at. Melvin's mansion!
"Don't be in a rush, dear. Let's have a light chat first. Don't you miss me, or our hot nights? On a deserted island, accompanied by the full moon?"
Renata closed her eyes, her heart beating rapidly. "Tell me, what do you want?"
"I suspect you can't actually forget that night, right? Because I'm the same as you. Can't let you go, darling."
"I don't have time for this kind of nonsense."
"Oh, well, well, I just wonder why you're so grumpy now? Unlike in the past who was so spoiled, cheerful and also loving," the man's voice began to get heavy. "I just wanted to remind you of our contract."
"What contract?" repeated Renata, as far as she knew. She had never made an agreement with or by anyone! "I don't think I've ever made an agreement with anyone."
"You haven't, but we will soon. And, anyways for past debts, since I helped you out. So... it looks like you still owe me 50 billion."
Renata's tongue twisted, her limbs weak, she collapsed into a chair around the room. "What?" her voice trailed off, wanting to deny all her debts. How had Renata ever owed that much money in her life? However, the next second, Renata took a breath. "How dare you ask for that much money, do you think I'm a storehouse of money?"
The man chuckled, and Renata was sick to death of hearing it. His chuckle seemed to be laughing at Renata who was in deep shock. What would the man do, if his request of fifty billion was not fulfilled.
"I will not fulfill your request! You heard me, right?" snapped Renata, with a threatening intent.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, Renata, Renata... Do I have to ask your wealthy lover?"
"Are you threatening me? I can't be threatened, you know?"
"I'm not threatening. I just... know that your current boyfriend is a multimillionaire. You can see how affectionate he is with you by asking for his money, right? Moreover..."
"Stop it! You can't just threaten me. You know I can report your behavior to the police!" Renata burned with anger, she got up from her seat, standing waist to waist, her voice raised. "No one can mess with me, you hear!"
"Oh, yeah?" the man chuckled again.
"Yeah, well, you don't know where he works and lives either, do you?" Renata threatened back. So, Melvin and herself should be safe.
"You're going to report me to the police? How about I send you pictures of your handsome boyfriend? He looks handsome and tall too, photogenic," she said sarcastically.
"Don't mess with him. He's not what you think he is! Besides, I can't just ask him for money."
"Is that so? I guess you're making her your walking ATM. Just like what you did to me back then. How did you whine about getting the latest branded bag, or even... a new car?"
"Stop it! What's clear is, you can't make me spend as much money as you ask just because my boyfriend is rich. Besides, you don't know who he is, do you? You're just bluffing."
The man chuckled again. "Renata, Renata, why do you still doubt me? I trust you completely," he said again in a raised tone of voice.
Then a notification came on Renata's cell phone. There was a picture on her phone. Renata's eyes widened when she opened the picture. There was a picture of Melvin in his office, then coming out of his mansion, meaning Renata could not underestimate the threat from this man.
Renata's breath was coming in fast. She couldn't believe that this man was capable of doing anything beyond Renata's reasoning. Her vision was blurred. Her body seemed to float off the earth.
"Alright, what do you want?" asked Renata in a firm voice.
"I just want fifty billion."
"What if I can't fulfill your wish?"
"I'll ask Melvin, your multimillionaire lover," he replied in a light voice.
Renata was speechless.
"You can call me back when the money is there. Keep this number, dear."
Renata didn't answer anything! The phone connection was then disconnected. Her body frozen, her head immediately thought of how to ask Melvin for that much money.
Everything that Renata had gotten from Melvin so far, could just disappear. And Renata didn't want that to happen. That's really bad luck! Renata screeched in ignorance. Fortunately, Aleta who was downstairs was sleeping because she was too absorbed in watching.
