Marriage Prison Chapter 84

Danas was still weak, although the pain had gradually disappeared, but Jagad told her to rest in the hospital for the sake of her health and the baby's too. "If you are healthy and strong, I'm sure your baby will be inside too," Jagad said wisely and gently. "Thank you," Danas said kindly. Jagad couldn't help but smile. "If you'll excuse me," Jagad said goodbye, having visited Danas' room several times in one day. "Good then," Melvin said, his face looking unhappy that Jagad was constantly in the room. It felt hot. Aleta who was in the room also felt hot because Jagad was in this room. But, in Aleta's heart, if Jagad liked Danas, she didn't have to worry about her son falling in love with Danas. "How are you doing?" Aleta asked curtly, she then pulled a chair so she could sit near the bed. Melvin, who was next to Danas, frowned. "Mom, you can talk a little slower, right?" "My style of speaking is like this. As my son, you should know better!" Danas held the back of Melvin's hand, as if to say 'already'. Melvin sighed and glanced at Danas, showing an exasperated look on his face. "It's better," Danas replied quietly, while stroking her stomach that was still a little sore. Aleta's eyes widened as she remembered what Danas had drunk. "How could you be so stupid as to drink that? Don't you care about your womb, huh?" Aleta's voice was like a thunderclap that boomed throughout the infirmary. "Mom..." Melvin protested, not liking the way his mother treated Danas like he wasn't her son-in-law. Danas fidgeted, but again she asked Melvin to calm down. "I-I didn't ask her to make the juice like that. She just said that you told me to drink it." Aleta's forehead wrinkled, not understanding, "Who delivered the drinks?" "The new waiter gave it to me." Danas' answer made Aleta furious. She didn't really agree with Winda working in the house either. "Winda? Are you sure?" she asked once again. Melvin's eyes then widened, not accepting, even though his head was still hurting at the moment, the new maid's behavior was still unacceptable. "Yes, sure," Danas replied. "I also don't know what Winda meant by giving me that drink," she said sadly. Once she rubbed her stomach that was starting to bulge. Although her relationship with Melvin was not what she had imagined. Still, Danas was very fond of his baby branch. Melvin was no less, his hand also stretched out to rub Danas' stomach. He would do anything to protect the baby in his womb. Aleta stood up, her hands clenched at her sides. "Come on, Melvin, you have to come with me," Aleta ordered. "Just watch out until something happens to baby Danas," she grumbled. She and Melvin then stepped out of the nursery feeling angry. Danas herself didn't understand, without saying goodbye or anything, her mother-in-law and husband just left. What did they want? Danas didn't know either. She relaxed, lying on the bed. On the way out of the hospital, Aleta's teeth chattered and her heartbeat accelerated. She didn't realize that the car to pick her up was not yet in front of the lobby terrace. She was so upset that she forgot to call the driver who had brought her to this hospital. She was so annoyed and upset that she couldn't wait to contact her driver. "Hurry to the lobby, I'm about to go home!" she snapped, not caring about the stares of the people passing by because Aleta's voice was too high. " Mom, calm down a bit," Melvin said, massaging her temples. "How can I calm down. My grandbaby's life is at stake, after all, have you ever cared a bit about her or not?" Melvin just rolled his eyes, his mama could be really annoying like this. Not long after, her car passed in front of him. Aleta quickly got into the car. "Home, quickly!" she snapped, the driver already knowing how Aleta behaved. And it was understandable that her employer was very grumpy and fierce. Arriving home, Aleta hurriedly got out of the car and immediately looked for Winda. While Melvin was behind Aleta walking in a hurry too, he actually wanted to hear Winda's response. "Winda!" Her voice had been heard since the garage, no wonder her employer was like Aleta. "Winda!" Her voice was more terrifying than thunder, Melvin also felt like covering his ears. Because of his mama's screeching. Aleta's anger grew when she couldn't find Winda anywhere. "Winda! Where are you?" Aleta stood at her waist waiting for Winda to come. "WINDA!" she called once again in a high tone. Melvin, meanwhile, only watched Winda and her angry mama, which was enough. Melvin didn't need to participate in scolding Winda, he just needed to bend his waist to keep an eye on the situation. Winda, who was still in the kitchen, of course stumbled, when her mistress called her in a harsh tone, and high too. Aleta's eyes widened as soon as Winda came in like she could do no wrong. "Yes, ma'am," she said and walked over to Aleta who was bent over at the waist, her face bright red, not knowing what her employer was up to. As she approached, Winda slapped her so hard that the maid's face jerked to the side. "What did you give my daughter-in-law, huh?" Winda, who was still in shock, shook her head in ignorance, her hand holding her hot and sore cheek. "Don't be so ignorant! Just tell me what you put in Danas' drink that made him bleed like that?" Winda burst into tears as Aleta's finger pointed at her. "How could you say that? I didn't do anything to Mrs. Danas. I only gave her juice. Because as far as I know, juices and fruits are good for people who are pregnant," she said in a tone of voice that sounded sad. Tears were welling up in her eyes. "What juice did you give her?" chimed in Melvin quickly, no less fierce in tone. This time he also allowed Aleta to slap Winda's cheek. However, Aleta did not want to be lulled into tears by Winda. She also didn't believe that Winda was defending herself, saying the juice. "What kind of juice did you give me?" Aleta asked once again, as Winda didn't answer at all. Aleta's eyes stared intently at Winda. Her hands were crossed. "Answer!" "I-I gave her jackfruit juice with a little milk for her pregnancy." Winda replied innocently. Once again a slap flew across Winda's cheek. This time her left and right cheeks were hot and sore. "Do you know that juice almost caused my grandson's death?" Aleta once again pointed at Winda. Her breath hitched harder, "It's a good thing she survived." Melvin watched as Winda scolded her. Already speechless, Melvin thought everything had been done by his mama. Nagging, even to the point of slapping. "I-I didn't know that juice could harm the womb, ma'am," she said softly. It was all an act, of course. Winda had to restrain herself from retaliating against Aleta. "Just tell me you did it on purpose. Who told you to do it, huh?" Aleta urged, sure in her heart that Winda had been told to do it by someone, though she didn't know who. "No, ma'am. I wasn't told by anyone. I bought those fruits because they were cheap at the market," she defended. "What did you say?" Aleta was still skeptical of Winda's defense. "You're lying! Tell me, who told you to, huh? It can't be because the fruit was cheap, then you bought it!" "Stop it, Mom, stop it..." Melvin intervened in the argument. His head hurt even more because his mother seemed to insist on Winda's answer. Her mother's voice was also annoying to the ears, like ringing. "Next time you have to be more careful with what you give to Mrs. Danas, got it?" Melvin said as if it were final. Then he hissed because his head still hurt like crazy. And left his mama and Winda. Aleta was still staring at Winda intently. "If you're still reckless, you'll lose your job. Mark that!" Aleta's forefinger pointed at Winda's face who was still crying. Winda was silent, she thought there was no need to answer Melvin's question, because Melvin had just left her. "Do you get it? Answer!" Aleta demanded. "Yes, ma'am," Winda replied, wiping away her tears. As long as Aleta had been nagging her, Winda had been holding back. So, when Melvin and Aleta left, Winda looked at the two people sharply. She held a grudge in her heart. They had to pay her back for all this treatment, especially the two slaps. Winda grumbled to herself, not accepting her employer's treatment.
