They get out and wipe off each other’s backs, while Kelly grabs her towel and gives him his. She dries off her hair and the rest of her. Picking up her clothes and putting them back on, she watches him get out a fresh pair of pants. “Are you going to go change? I can come with if you want.” He suggests.
“I must call my sister and it might be a bit. She really likes to talk. I might as well meet you back here.”
“O.k., Kelly, I love you.” She gives him a big kiss and walks home.
When she gets there, the first thing she does is change her clothes. Afterwards, she calls her sister and tells her all the details. “After that, no other man is ever going to be able to satisfy you. They simply won’t be able to measure up to Joel.” Samantha sounds amazed.
“I guess I will just have to declare my love for him and never let him go.” She runs her fingers over the front of the couch. “Well, I suppose I better get going. Joel expects me back soon. I think he mentioned something about going to lunch.”
“Hurry up then, don’t keep him waiting.” Samantha laughs.
“Bye.” Kelly hangs up and then makes her way back to Joel’s.
She is about to knock on the door when she hears voices. Joel and Maggie are talking about her. “So, you two are together? How exciting. I am so happy for you Joel. She seems like such a sweet and beautiful woman.” Maggie says.
“Yes, she is extremely sweet and kind. For beautiful, there is not a woman I have ever met that can compare. Except for you Maggie.” He jokes.
Kelly knocks on the door and Joel opens it almost immediately. “You don’t have to knock you know. My house is your house. You have met Maggie.”
“Hi, how are you?” Kelly smiles at her.
“I’m just fine and you look splendid. Joel here, was just telling me that you two are an item. How exciting.” Maggie smiles from ear to ear as she gives Kelly a hug.
He gives Kelly a glance and Maggie catches it. “I guess I should be going, so you two lovers can be alone. Bye.” Maggie walks out the door.
“Would you like to go to lunch now?” Joel asks.
“Sure, but Maggie seems so excited that we are lovers now. What did you tell her?” She looks confused.
“She asked me if we were friends and I told her that we are and more. That was it.” He looks sheepish.
“Well, let’s go then.” She takes his hand. He holds the door for her as she gets in his car. He drives her to a quaint restaurant in town where he says he loves to go.
The owner asks, “Joel, how are you doing? You have not been in here for a week or two. Where did you go?”
“Oh, well this one has been keeping my hands full. I haven’t left the house much, the last couple of days.” Joel winks at the owner. Kelly looks up from the menu and catches him winking at him.
“Yeah, I had him naked on the bed chained up with hand cuffs.” She jokes.
The owner looks a little shocked at Kelly, “Wow, you’re full of fire. If you ever want to take a break from Joel here, I’m next in line.”
Joel protests, “That’s not going to happen.”
“Oh well, I thought I would try. You two make a very good-looking couple. Have a good meal.” The owner smiles at Kelly as he walks away.
After they order, Joel asks, “Did your phone call with your sister go well?”
“Yes, she wanted to know if I had sex with you.” She grins.
“What did you tell her?”
“Yes, of course, then she told me I can’t ever let you go because no other man will ever measure up to you.” She looks out the window at a bird flying by.
She looks back into his blue eyes. “You know, I was going to ask you before how you got such blue eyes?”
"Oh these?” He asks.
“Well, yes. Your eyes are just so amazing.”
My mom has the most spectacular blue eyes, and my dad has green eyes. The doctors were surprised when my eyes never changed color as I got older. They said it was a double recessive gene. Ultra-rare.”
“Wow. That’s amazing.” She leans over the table and kisses him softly.
“Yeah, the doctors said that if I ever have kids there is a good chance, they would have them too. Weird, huh.” He looks at her so lovingly.
“One of these days soon, you’re going to have to meet my parents. They will love you too.” He takes her hand and kisses the palm.
“When my kids get back, I would like you to meet them. I think they will love you too.”
“Love me too. Does that mean you love me?” He smiles seductively.
She thinks about it for a minute. “I told Samantha that I was going to have to profess my love to you, so you won’t ever leave me.”
“So do you?”
She smiles, “Joel, yes I love you.” He reaches across the table and kisses her. She feels her body melting under his touch.
The waiter arrives and delivers the food, interrupting their kiss. They laugh and feed each other. When they are done eating, they stand up and he kisses her. The owner walks over and sees them, “I’m getting jealous. Are you sure I cannot have you for the day? I will make sure you never forget it.” The owner looks vaguely serious, so Joel starts to feel uncomfortable.
“Come on, baby. Let’s go.” Joel grabs her hand and ushers her out.
“I couldn’t tell if he was joking or serious.” She looks a little confused.
“It seemed to me that he was a little more serious then joking, but that is just me. Maybe, I’m getting jealous.” He takes her back to the car, and they drive over to the jewelry shop.
When she looks like she is about to ask him a question, he tells her, “We have to go in here for a minute.” He grabs her hand again as they walk into the store. They walk up to a counter where a woman is standing. “Hi, I want to look at that one.” He points at this gorgeous ruby ring.
She pulls it out and hands it to him. He turns to Kelly and has her put her hand out. He slides it on. A perfect fit and so beautiful. “Does it fit well?” He asks.
“Yes, it’s beautiful.” She goes to take it off and he stops her.
“No, it’s yours.” He smiles charmingly. He hands the lady his card as she rings it up.
After he signs the receipt, they turn to leave. Kelly stops him and kisses him right in the middle of the store and then she smiles. “Now, we can leave.” She takes his hand and leads him out the door.
“So, what is the ring for?” She looks at him.
“Because I love you. I am a very giving person, specially to those I love. He stops walking and turns to her. “Do you really want me to meet your kids?”
“Yes.”
“Kelly, that would make me so happy. As soon as they get back from their grandparents, I want to meet them. I want to meet your sister too.”
“No problem. I can have my sister meet us for dinner one of these nights.” She walks beside him.
“How about tonight? I can make dinner.” He suggests.
She looks at the sidewalk, “Let me call her and see what she says.”
