She wraps up in a blanket and joins him in the kitchen. Sneaking up behind him, she slides her arms around his waist. “Hi.” She kisses his shoulder and then he turns around and grins at her.
“If you keep that up, I’m going to forget about the eggs and take you right here.” The look in his eyes tells her that he is dead serious.

“They’re done. How hungry are you?”
“I could eat a hippo.” She smiles like a kid.
“Well, you’re in luck, because I think they’re hippo eggs. They are gigantic.” He shows her a plate full of eggs, and bacon.

“Well, we can share then.” He smiles lovingly.
She lets go of his torso and he turns around and kisses her softly. Afterwards, he walks to the table and puts the dish in the middle. In his other hand he has two forks. “Here you go. A fork for each of us.” They sit down and he grabs a piece of bacon. He looks at Kelly, “Open.” She scrunches up her nose, as she pretends that she does not want it.
“Open.” He says more forcefully this time. She shakes her head no, as she stares wickedly at him. “Do you want me to make you open your mouth?” She nods seductively. He takes his hand and moves it under the table. His fingers move between her legs and then slide in. She moans and then he quickly sticks the bacon in her mouth with the other hand. “Yeah, well you were being bad. So, I punished you.” He says between bites. The rest of the plate disappears quickly, as they both gobbled it down. He takes the plate and forks into the kitchen and as he comes back out, he has something in his hand.
“Close your eyes, I have something for you.” He opens his hand and puts a small box in front of her on the table. “You can open your eyes now.” He smiles so sweetly. As she opens her eyes, she sees a small box in front of her. “Open it.” He gets excited. She slowly opens it and finds a beautiful sterling silver necklace with a diamond teardrop at the bottom.
He sees the shock on her face and explains, “Yesterday, after you left, I went to the store and bought it. I figured that even if you did decide to stay with one of them, when you came back to tell me I would give it to you as a going away present. I wanted to make sure you would never forget me.”
“Here, let me put it on you. It’s beautiful, but it will never compare to you.” Joel takes it out of the box and walks behind her as she stands up. She can feel him breathing on her neck as he clasps it. “Kelly, I want to be your lover and your friend. I want you to spend your life with me. I don’t want this to be just a summer fling, I feel that this is the real thing.”
She turns around and he looks at her with those spectacular blue eyes again. “You know I just remembered where I have met you before. At the post office, several months ago. I remember you told me your first name. Those blue eyes, so hypnotic as I stared into them.”
“Oh, yeah. I remember. I hit on you and then you said you had to leave. I thought for sure that I wasn’t your type.” He remembers fondly of the post office encounter. “Kelly, I meant it when I told you I love you. I have never felt this way before about anyone. I thought that I did, but now I know that I did not. Because I feel that way for you.”
He puts his hand on the small of her back and the other on her hair. Leaning in and kissing her while she closes her eyes. For once in her life, she feels surrounded by love. She senses him staring at her, so she opens her eyes. “Are you o.k.?” He looks concerned.
“I’m fine. I was just enjoying the feeling of being in love. It is very peaceful. You should really try it.”
“I already am.” He kisses her passionately.
He lets go of her for a minute so he can pull the blanket from her. It drops to the floor, and he pulls off his underwear. She follows him into the shower, where he turns the water on and gets out a bar of soap. He watches her body as the water cascades down it.
