Avinash POV (Divya's father)

It has been two months since my daughter came from New York and her behaviour completely changed. Her eyes are always clouded with sadness. She acted fine, but I knew deep within her. She was hurt. I was afraid as she was always very quiet, unlike the usual sweet and cheerful Divya. I have no idea why she's behaving this way.
One day, I asked her problem directly because I want her to share it with me. I want her to let her pain out of her chest because I knew she's been keeping it all inside her heart, and that's not healthy. I don't know what happened to her, but she wouldn't open up to me. She was shutting herself from everyone.
I took a deep breath for a couple of times to calm my nerves. Then, I went to a conference room for meeting. However, some nagging feeling pushed me to go home. I couldn't concentrate on the meeting, so I decided to go to home.
Soon I reached my home. I saw my daughter's car parked outside, so she's in home.
Today I will definitely ask her problem and clear things out. I made up my mind and opened the door. The whole house was so silent that I couldn't hear any movement inside. I went straight to my doll room.
"Doll" I asked opening her room door. The sight in front of me is enough to make me die. There my daughter was with a bloody wrist and lying lifelessly on the bed.
"Dollllll" I immediately went up to her and started crying. I broke down and held her in my arms. I heard her heart beating, and she was breathing. I looked at her, and her eyes were half open. I carried my lifeless daughter in my arms and rushed her into the hospital. On the way, I called my sister Dharani and her husband Akash. I told them to come hospital immediately.
'Please god don't let her die before me' I prayed silently.
Soon, I reached a hospital. A nurse came with a stretcher told me to put my daughter on it, but I wanted to keep my daughter in my arms.
"Sir, please put her in the stretcher" Nurse said once again. I carefully put my doll down on the stretcher and kissed her on the top of her head.
"It seems a suicide case. Sorry sir, but you first need a registered police complaint" Doctor said firmly.
"Doctor please treat her first. I will file the complaint after she's up. She already lost so much blood" I begged doctor.
"I'm sorry Sir but ... " She doesn't get to complete her sentence as we heard Akash cold voice.
"Treat her now" Akash order and came in front of doctor. My sister Dharani held my hand for support.
"But Sir ... "
"Your chief Doctor Sanjana is my best friend. I will talk to her. If you don't want to lose your job and ruin your career, then treat her now, "Akash order dangerously and that doctor immediately ran inside the room. I cried. My head hurt, and I felt a bit shaky. I sat down on the chair, resting on my head in my hands to stop the world spinning.
"Pease don't cry. She'll be alright. Our Divya is a fighter" My sister said, crying.
"Dharani, I had survived in the world without my wife Ritika, but I can't survive without my daughter" I said and cried.
"Avinash, please be strong. Nothing will happen to our daughter" Akash consoled me.
After 1 hour, doctor came out of the room. I rushed to the doctor. "How is my daughter?" I asked in panicked tone.
"Sir, she is out of danger. We have saved your daughter and her baby" Doctor said. I felt like someone had just thrown a bucket of ice-cold water on me. As these new revelations shook me, I couldn't believe what she was implying.
"What baby?" my sister asked incredulously.
"Your daughter is five weeks pregnant" Doctor announced. My head is spinning hearing this news.
"Thank you doctor, can we see her?" Akash asked calmly.
"Sure...Of course, but please don't give her too much stress" Doctor said and went away.
"Brother, come let's go inside" Dharani said.
I entered the room to see my fragile doll lying on hospital bed with tear stained cheeks. Her eyes were wide opened. They were swollen, and she had dark circles under them. She looked like a broken doll. My daughter noticed our presence. Dharani made her sit comfortably on her hospital bed.
"Why would you do something like that, Divya?" Akash asked my daughter. She closed her eyes and cried.
"Are you going to repeat the same mistake you did 5 years ago?" Dharani shouted and that made me got out of my trance-like state.
"What do you mean Dharani? I asked her confusingly.
"When Ritika died, Divya tried to cut her wrist with a knife, but fortunately I walked in the kitchen and saved her 5 years ago" Dharani said. I looked at my daughter in disbelief. I know she's stressed but I never know she tried to kill herself.
"Why did you try to kill yourself? Who is the father of your baby?" I asked my daughter directly. She looked at me and just stared at my face, crying. She looked so helpless and just lost. I never saw my doll this sad. I will kill that person, whoever it is.
"Divya, don't be afraid. Please tell us the truth" Akash asked her calmly.
"Yes baby doll, please tell us the truth" Dharani pleaded her. Even so, my stubborn daughter didn't answer our questions.
"Divya, I've had enough of your attitude. This is the last time I'm asking you this, who is the father of your baby? If you didn't answer my question, you will never see me again" I told her seriously. She looked at me with stunned expression.
She was shaking with fear and could not form any words. Then she slowly opened her mouth and said, "Daksh!"
I heard my sister gasping beside me. I felt totally numb. What?
"This can't be true" I heard Akash whispering in disbelief.
Divya POV

I looked at the ceiling and found emptiness overwhelming me. Tears threatened to fall from my eyes again, but I blinked them back. Even though the urge to cry was so strong and my chest felt so heavy, I blinked the tears backward. I didn't want to cry anymore.
When I tried to commit suicide, I completely forgot about that I was pregnant. That time my mental state got even worse. My thoughts were revolving around Daksh and his unbearable accusing words. I hate myself at this moment. I'm so selfish. I'm very bad mother. How can I forget about my baby and his/her life? I have the right to kill myself, but I don't have the right to kill my baby. I will never do anything to harm my baby. Hereafter, my only purpose in life is to birth my baby safely and take care of my baby. I'm just going to live for my child.
I caressed my stomach with my hands and spoke as softly," Sorry baby, please forgive your mom. You're my precious valuable diamond. You're my life, and I'm going to take good care of you from this moment. I love you" I said sincerely.
Suddenly, I saw the hospital door opening. I looked at my Pari maa, uncle and my dad. They all looked miserable. Especially my Dad, my heart beated wildly seeing him in this miserable state. I wanted to reach out to him, to comfort him. But I don't have the guts to do it. Pari maa came to me and made me sit comfortably on my hospital bed.
"Why would you do something like that, Divya?" Uncle asked me. I shut my eyes unable to answer his question.
"Are you going to repeat the same mistake you did 5 years ago?" Pari maa shouted, and that got my Dad out of his thoughts.
"What do you mean, Dharani?" My Dad asked pari maa confusingly.
"When Ritika died, Divya tried to cut her wrist with a knife, but fortunately I walked in the kitchen and saved her" Pari maa said. My Dad looked at me in disbelief. I looked down at my hand unable to bear his painful look.
Yes, it's true. I tried to kill myself the day my mom died because I can't live without my mom. But fortunately, Pari maa came and saved me. I am thankful to my Pari maa. She always supported me both in bad and good times. She always says a right thing to help me to move on.
"Why did you try to kill yourself? Who is the father of your baby?" Dad asked me directly. I looked at him and just stared at his face, crying.
Oh God! I didn't know how to tell him!
"Divya, don't be afraid. Please tell us the truth" uncle asked me calmly.
"Yes baby doll, please tell us the truth" Pari maa pleaded me. But I still didn't answer.
"Divya, I've had enough of your attitude. This is the last time I'm asking you this, who is the father of your baby? If you didn't answer my question, you will never see me again" my Dad warned me seriously. I looked at him with stunned expression.
I was shaking with fear, and I could not form any words. Then I finally decided to get this over with because if I didn't answer, then I will lose my Dad.
I slowly opened my mouth and said, "Daksh!"
I heard pari maa gasping. My dad had a stunned expression on his face. I could feel my heart sink.
"This can't be true" Akash uncle whispered in disbelief.
"This is true" I said, turning my head, my eyes locked with Pari maa.
"Its Daksh, he's my baby's father" I said and told them everything about us. Our fight, our confession, our love, Daksh's marriage proposal, our New York trip and finally his mistrust towards me.
They all looked at me with a shocked face. Pari maa stumbled a little back but uncle held her shoulder.
"Akash, I can't believe this. My baby boy, he did this to my Divya" Pari maa asked uncle, crying.
"Angel please don't cry. First, let me call Daksh here. Then we will ask him about this" uncle said and wiped Pari Maa's tears.
"What are you going to ask that fu*ker? Because of him, my daughter is in this state" my dad said with rage.
"Avinash, please calm down. We will talk about this calmly. First, I will call Daksh and tell him to come here" Uncle said and immediately dialed to Daksh. Uncle didn't inform him about my suicide attempt. He just asked him to come hospital within 30 minutes.
"Dad, Pari maa, uncle, I know saying sorry won't change anything but-" I didn't even know what to say, I was totally lost for words.
"You're damn right. It won't change anything, so why? Why didn't you tell me this before Divya? " Dad asked me angrily. Tears were flowing down my eyes.
"Brother, please calm down. Don't give her stress. It's not good for her baby" Pari maa said. Dad huffed looking at her.
After 20 minutes of complete silence, I heard the door opening. I glanced at the door and saw Daksh entering the room. My eyes locked onto his. His eyes stare deeply into mine. His eyes trailed down my wrist. I could see his black eyes getting moist with unshed tears. I shut my eyes tightly and fisted the bed sheets.
Suddenly I heard Dad yelled, "How dare you to cheat my daughter?" I opened my eyes and saw Dad slapped Daksh across his face. Pari maa gasped. Dad tried to slap him once again, but Akash uncle held Dad's hand and stopped him.
"It's enough Avinash. First let him speak" Akash uncle said firmly.
"Brother, please! I beg you, please calm down" Pari maa cried. Then pari maa went towards Daksh.
"Divya is pregnant, is it true? Is she carrying your baby? Did you love her? Did you propose her for marriage? You're the father of her baby?" Pari maa asked him sternly. Daksh looked tensed, and he glanced at me with pure hatred in his eyes. I'm also returning the same expression to him.
"No mom. I'm not in love with her. I didn't propose her for marriage. She's not carrying my child. She's lying. She's trying to trap me. Please trust your son mom" he said firmly. I closed my eyes and controlled my anger.
"LIER" Suddenly, we all heard another angry voice coming from the door. I opened my eyes only to see who's standing there. It's.................
