"Ladies and gentleman may I have your attention please? Today is the Wedding Anniversary of my parents Akash Mehra and Dharani Mehra. Thanks for joining us. It means so much that you all have traveled to make it here today, to share memories with my Mom and Dad.
I don't want to speak for long tonight but there are some important things I'd like to say. First of all, congratulations, Mom and Dad. Twenty-seven years of happy married life is really quite remarkable.
Mom, thank you for being the most positive person that I know because you taught me that I always have something for which I could be thankful for.
Dad, thank you for being the man that you are and always putting Mom first in your life because you made me realize that I deserve someone as amazing and loving as you are to mom" Daksh said and we all clapped our hands. Then Ana went on the stage and took the mike from Daksh. She started speaking.
"We’re proud to have you as our parents. Few people make it together for these many years, these days. We hope to follow your example. You’re the greatest! We love you. Twenty-seven years married and still so much in love! When I get married, I want my marriage just like yours. Happy Anniversary mom and Dad" Ana said. Then my Dad went on the stage and started speaking.
"Love, trust, tolerance and tenacity. This is what I have seen in your relationship every time. A very happy anniversary to both of you. Always be a happy family. Share time with each other. Good and bad things are a part of a life, so face them with a smile. God bless you both. You have always been there for me in both good and bad times. I want you to know that I’m always there for both of you. I wish you a very happy anniversary" Dad said emotionally. It's my turn now. I took the mike in my hand and started speaking.
"Pari maa and uncle, Twenty-seven successful years of marriage makes you the best couple out there. I don’t think I have seen a couple as perfect as you anywhere. Happy 27th anniversary to my most two favorite people" I said. Pari maa came on the stage and took the mike from my hand and started speaking.
"First, I want to thank all of you so much for coming. I can't begin to describe how much it means to me, and Akash that you are here with us to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary Akash. I’m so proud to be your wife. You've been a huge inspiration to me throughout our marriage. Even when times were hard, you always stayed positive.
You've inspired me to be a hard worker. You have made my life simply wonderful. I want you to know how happy you have made me, but words cannot describe it. After you have entered into my life, all my problems and difficulties seemed to disappear. Thank you for making my life so special and full of joy. I love you with all my heart. You are my, everything and I’m very proud to be Mrs. Dharani Akash Mehra" Pari maa said with happy tears flowing in her eyes.
Akash Uncle came on the stage and wiped Pari maa's tears and started speaking, "Let me start by greeting every one of you who has come to share this momentous event with us. My wife, Dharani and I are deeply honoured by your presence, and we appreciate you helping to make this day more memorable.
Wow! I can’t believe today is our 27the wedding anniversary. Looking back, I can’t help but be amazed at how we could surpass every trial and obstacle we encountered in our marriage. My wife always said I was the stronger one, but it was her who gave me the strength I needed, especially during the times when I felt like giving up. Thank you Angel, for always being there for me. Thank you for putting up with me and coping with my fabulous mood swings! Thank you for loving me and being there for me. Thank you for giving me two amazing children. You are the most beautiful woman in the world, the love of my life. You are my angel and my everything. I will forever love you, till death do us part. Happy Anniversary angel" Uncle said and kissed Pari maa's forehead.
"I want you all to enjoy the evening and celebrate my parent's wedding anniversary" Daksh said. The whole crowd started cheering loudly.
The next hour consisted of a wonderful dinner. Soon we finished our meal. A slow song started to play in the background behind. All the guests who came to attend the party were chatting, eating and some were dancing.
"May I have this dance my Angel?" Uncle asked pari maa. She blushed and put her hand in his.
"Of course, Akash" Uncle kissed Pari maa's hand, and they both went to the dance floor as they started dancing for the slow song. My dad and Ana were also dancing. I just kept looking at Pari maa and uncle. They are old and still in love. I want to find such as a kind of love.
I just stood there staring at them when I felt a presence beside me and a hand in front of me.
"Would like to dance with me sweetheart?" Daksh asked me, and my heart jumped in excitement. I smiled and put my hand on his as he led me to the dance floor. Soon the song changed to slow and light dimmed. Everyone moved according to the rhythm. We started dancing slowly.

We were totally lost in each other's eyes. Daksh's eyes contained so many emotions.

He rubbed his nose softly against mine, our lips inches apart as we moved slowly. I blushed.
(this world is nothing,
if you are there, there is life in it.
now where else do I have to go?

Daksh twirled me around and pulled me back to his chest. He leaned close to my ear and said," I have a surprise for you!" I look at him with a frown.

"Please come with me" Daksh said and held my hand. We started walking away from the dance floor. He took me upstairs.
"Daksh, where you are taking me?" I asked him. He didn't answer me. He stopped walking and grinned boyishly. He took out a black blind fold. Suddenly, he blindfolded me and picked me up in bridal style and started walking.
Soon he put me down and said,"Okay I am going to take off the blind fold. So get ready for the surprise, sweetheart!" I nodded my head.
"Now, open your eyes" Daksh whispered in my ear. I slowly opened my eyes and gasped.
The whole room was decorated beautifully with candles, balloons,
Our teenage and family photos. I smiled, turned back and saw Daksh was sitting on his knees.
He stared right into my eyes. "Sweetheart, I can’t stay away from you anymore. I know you're the one I want to share the rest of my life with. When I look into my heart, I see only you. If you can look into your heart and only see me, then we should spend the rest of our lives together. So let's get married" he said. I was too stunned to speak anything.
He continued, "Yes sweetheart, let's get married. I love you, and I want to stay with you. I'm ready for tying the knot, have kids and grow old and grey with you" he said and reached inside his pocket and pulled out a small rectangular velvet box. My heart started beating fast.
"Will you marry me, Divya Mathur?" He opened the box in his hand. I gasped. It is a beautiful diamond Mangalsutra. I looked at him with a shocked face. I can't help the tears in my eyes again.
Oh God! Oh God, oh God! This is so... unexpected.
"Do you accept this mangalsutra and become my wife?" He asked, forwarding the box to me, to take it. I came forward and make him stand. I took the box in my hands.
"Yes Daksh, I will marry you" I said looking directly in his eyes. Happy tears were flowing down my eyes. He gave me a beautiful smile.
"How is it? Do you like the mangalsutra design?" He asked me while his head still looking at the box in my hand.
"I love it! Thank you Daksh" I said and held the box tightly to my chest.
"Anything for you doll. After our Newyork trip, I am going to reveal our love to our parents. I'm going to ask your dad for your hand in marriage" Daksh said, I hugged him tightly. I felt so happy.
Suddenly, I saw someone's shadow at the entrance. I immediately turned my head but to my surprise. there was no one.
"What happened, sweetheart?" Daksh asked me confusingly.
"Daksh, I saw someone's shadow behind at the entrance door" I told him nervously. He checked around.
"Don't fear, there is nothing to worry" he said and pulled me towards him.
"You should never wear this revealing dress again, do you get it?" he ordered me. I narrowed my eyes at him. He knows I don't like when someone orders me. He sighed.
"Ok, I'm sorry for ordering you. But, nobody has the right to see what's mine" he said and captured my lip. My eyes fluttered close as Daksh sucked on my lip. The tingle of pleasure travelled through my vein, my head spinning, enjoying this sensation. After few minutes, he broke the kiss as I was out of oxygen. I was breathing heavily. He caressed my swollen lips.
"I love you, sweetheart" he said. I smiled.
"I love you too, Daksh" I said, he claimed my lips once again. My heart fluttered at the gentle kiss and the way his lips warmed mine. I closed my eyes. This feeling is heaven. Our love is heaven. I'm living in heaven today.
But, little I didn't know I am going to face hell soon.

I close my eyes."Mom, today is the day I'm going to fulfill your dreams and wishes. Bless me, mom!" I prayed silently, take a deep breath.
