Siddharth's POV
" Hello ... Doctor !! " She said in a flirting tone.
" Hello, ma'am. Yes, please? How may I help you? " I said politely though I was thoroughly irritated.
" In any way you want. I seek for your help in many departments, But you never listen to me." She said giving me a teasing and suggestive smile.
" Can you please tell me your problem, ma'am? I am actually very busy. "
" Sure, I want a laser treatment for permanent hair removal from my face and my body. I would also like you to give me a skin lightening treatment. I have an important event to attend and want to look at my best. "
" Ma'am, Your skin is perfectly fine. Why do you need those treatments? One should have a healthy glow in their skin. The tone of the skin colour does not matter. In fact, dusky skin tone is considered very beautiful even around the world. Please drop that idea."
" Please, I want to look even better. " She said and held my hand all of a sudden.
" Ma'am, please leave my hand. " I was already annoyed, so I said in a louder voice. I never liked the way this woman behaved around me. Just then I saw Shruti and Raman standing just inside my cabin.
" Ma'am please don't waste your, as well as my time. Please just leave. I do not recommend all that to you. "
" But my boyfriend is losing interest so I want a makeover. He would like me to get it done.... "
" I would have recommended if it was needed. Respect yourself, tell your boyfriend to change his attitude. Why do you want to change yourself for him?? "
" Will you be my boyfriend?? I will drop the idea and leave my boyfriend if you agree. "
" What ?? Sorry ma'am. Listen I am very busy. Can't you see the number of patients outside?? Please leave. "
" Why? It's my body, I want those treatments... So what is the problem?? I have the money and inclination to get those treatments. Why are you not doing it?? "
" Ma'am, I just suggested that your skin is healthy naturally, you do not need the treatment. But If you still want it, it is your responsibility. I will do the treatment, but will not recommend any such thing. Please leave, I am a bit busy. Dr Raman, please send the next patient. " I said pressing my head lightly.
I kept looking at the patients till 2 PM.
It was lunchtime and I told my assistants to have lunch and come back in an hour.
My mood was spoilt even more after the encounter with the lady. Shruti saw that too. I didn't know how was she going to take it.
I was too annoyed to eat anything but when Parth called me to the mess, I went to meet them to change my mood.
My head was throbbing. I saw her sitting there eating the food silently. I was glad that Kunal was not there or I would have beaten him for telling Shruti that he missed her.
Parth told me that he gave him some extra work right before the lunch break saying that he had to prepare the reports right away.
" But his lunch?? "
" He can take his lunch and an hour break later at about 2:50. " He said and grinned as by that time Shruti's break time would be over.
Shruti's POV
I was very tensed to see that I had to assist Siddharth. Though that misunderstanding was cleared between us still there were many things.
It has been almost 5 days since I started assisting him but he was just behaving like an indifferent senior. He must have been really angry because of Kunal, he thought that Kunal and I were together.
I thought that he would try to make use of this chance to make me come closer to him. But he didn't treat me differently than Anita and Raman. He did not try to be over-friendly.
In fact, he even joked with Raman or Anita but never with me. It seems that he was still angry with me because of Kunal.
I don't know why I felt very sad to see that he ignored me. It was breaking my heart.
I even saw that he was not eating properly. He was working during breaks also until Dr Parth would come and drag him out.
Even Kunal was very busy... He was not getting time to eat, he came either before or after all of us. I had not many friends left here now as most of my friends were doing internship from their home town and were not planning to study further.
One day Kunal came to meet me in his free time and Siddharth got even more annoyed. He scolded him very harshly.
That day, he ignored me even more and kept working in his cabin and didn't even eat or drink anything.
Why was he behaving like that?? Was he only interested in me as he said he was??
I was feeling guilty that I let him assume that Kunal and I could have something between us. I wanted to tell him, but couldn't find any way to do that.
But at the same time, I couldn't forget what Isha said. How can both things be right??
That was not possible. How can I forget about those pictures?
That day Siddharth was busy in treating one emergency patient who got burnt very badly. We all were assisting him when Dr Isha walked in after a brief knock.
Siddharth got annoyed and told her to wait outside. She made a face and went out.
Though Raman went out after about ten minutes to inform her that Dr Jindal was busy and he would not be able to talk to her today as he was getting late for a hair transplant surgery, she kept waiting there and said that he would have time for her.
Of course, why not ???
The moment, the patient left his cabin she leapt inside and literally threw herself on him. We were shocked to see them like this.
I had this strong urge to slap her very tightly and pull her away from him.
" Hey Siddharth, I missed you a lot. " She said and hugged his torso.
How can she do that?? I felt like killing her but I just averted my eyes.
" Dr Isha, What is this?? Please behave yourself. We are not students anymore we are responsible doctors. " He scolded her.
" Oh, sorry... I was so excited to see you after so long. I know you don't believe in PDA. I really like this quality of yours. You are right, why should we display our affection so openly? Sorry, now don't be upset. "
" See, I have to go for surgery. I do have a single minute to spare. We will talk later on. "
" No, first you promise me that you will come to the party with me."
" Which party?? "
" The welcome party for freshers and interns. " She said and he looked at me for a second. This was the first time he had looked at me since morning.
" Sorry... I am busy. "
" Cone on jaan, you have to come. It is mandatory for everyone. "
" Dr Isha, didn't you understand, what I just told you?? I am busy. "
" Fine, but you are going with me," she said but he left without saying anything.
He always permitted one or two of us to join him in the OT and then that one person makes a video of the operation to share it with the other two.
Raman and Anita left for the cafe in the hospital as they were a bit free as it was my chance today to join him for the hair transplant surgery. I kept my stuff in my locker and was about to rush after him. When Dr Isha held my hand.
" Dr Shruti, wait!! "
" Yes?? "
" I need to talk to you. "
" I have to assist him in this surgery. I am already getting late. " I said.
" I hope you remember, what he did a few years ago. Well, he was never interested in you. He was and is mine. I hope you still remember those hot pictures, I sent you earlier. You saw how close we were, didn't you?? I will send them again for you.... look at them to remind yourself that he belongs to me only. "
