Shruti's POV
We both finished eating our food. The chaat was awesome, l am glad, I ate it.
" So, did you like it ?? "
" Yes, thank you..."
" Try saying something else. I don't like you saying thank you to me. But I don't get one thing, why you eat street food so much. I mean you are a doctor, and this food is not very healthy. "
" I know... But I exercise a lot and eat nutritious but boring food provided in the mess every day. So I liked to eat spicy food. "
" Ok, but don't eat more than once a week. It is not good for your health, you know that. Right?? "
" I know and I don't eat more than that. Now let's get going. " I said and he nodded. I packed my tiffin box and we got up to go out. Siddharth caught my hand in his and squeezed lightly.
I don't know why but my heartbeat increased with just that and it reminded me of his kiss and how I responded to it. My face started to turn pink.
He opened the front passenger door of the car for me and once I slid in, he went to another side, to occupy the driving seat. He smiled at me and kissed my hand. I pulled my hand out of his.
He smiled and started driving the car. He was whistling some happy tune. It was nice to see him like that.
" Don't you think, it is a bright and beautiful day?? "
" It seems like a normal day only. What is so special about it?? "
" What is so special about it?? How can you ask me that?? Of course, it is a very special day... We kissed for the first time. I loved the way you responded. I was ready to get another tight slap in return for that kiss. I am really happy... We took our relationship to the next step. Now, I know for sure that you feel something for me. "
" No... I don't know, how it happened. But ... " and just then my phone buzzed.
I looked at the screen and was surprised to see Kunal calling me.
I wanted to avoid this conversation with Siddharth. So, I picked up the call.
" Hello, Kunal ?? " I said and Siddharth stiffened a bit. I saw it from the corner of my eyes.
" Hey !! How are you?? Are you back from Delhi?? We have to start our internship tomorrow. "
" Yeah, I am on my way only. " I said and felt that he increased the speed of the car.
" Oh, good !! Missed you a lot. Did you miss me ?? " He said.
Why did he say that??
" You missed me?? " I was shocked to hear him say that. But just then I looked at Siddharth, he was fuming by now and increased the speed even more.
" Of course... Why?? Can't I ?? I hope we get a chance to work under the same doctor. " I was getting tensed because of how Siddharth was increasing the speed.
" Hmmm... Ok, Kunal, I will talk to you tomorrow in the hospital. "
" Don't be late... I will wait for you. "
Why was he behaving like that ??
" Bye. " I said and disconnected the call.
" Siddharth, what's wrong with you ?? Slow down the car. " I said but he didn't pay any heed to me.
" Siddharth !! Please, slow down !! "
" What did he say?? " He asked me looking straight towards the road.
" Nothing !! " I said.
" Don't lie to me !!! Why did he say that he missed you?? " He asked in a fit of anger.
" First you slow down the car. " I said but he did not slow it down.
" Tell me now !! "
" Ok, fine !! Maybe he did... " I said as I was also angry now. How dare he question me like this when he already has a girlfriend.
He has a girlfriend somewhere and still is flirting with me and introduced me to his family.
" Shruti !! What is going on between you two?? " He was looking furious now.
" It is none of your business." I was annoyed as hell by his hypocritical approach.
" Of course, it is my business. You are mine."
" Yeah, of course, I am yours... while you are roaming around with another girl. " I was as angry as him now. He stopped the cars applying sudden breaks and the car stopped with a screech.
" WHAT ?? " He almost shouted. But I just kept glaring at him.
" What ?? Repeat that !! "
" I don't even want to talk to you. "
" No, repeat what you said just now. I have been committed to just you, for the last 5 years though you didn't even talk to me for the last 2 years. How can you say that?? "
" So why were you flirting with Dr Isha right after you came back from our date?? You didn't even deny what she said. "
" I didn't flirt with her... I don't even know from where she popped up all of a sudden when this happened. Wait a minute, she said something?? I swear, I didn't realise anything as I was shocked when Mayank gave me the money. What did she say??" He said with so much honesty that I I wanted to trust him.
" Let it be... " I don't want to talk about it now.
" No, tell me. I am not boasting, but many girls have wanted to have an affair with me. But she has always been very open about it, she is craziest of all. She once even said that we were from the community, so it was a perfect match. I have always told her that I am not at all interested in her. I never flirted with her."
" Siddharth, it is ok... It is none of my business. But then my matters are also none of your business. "
" I want my matters to be your business, but that's your will... But your matters will always be my business. You belong to me. Did you hear that?? " He asked but I didn't say anything.
" Tell me what is going on between you and Kunal?? Why did he say that he missed you?? Did you miss him too?? " He was holding my upper arms. I was getting irritated with his hypocrisy.
" Yes... I did. "
" What?? Oh so, you missed him and you kissed me?? Would you tell him that you kissed me? Do you respond to his kiss like that? " He asked mincing every word.
" Siddharth !!! " I said and picked up my hand to slap him but he caught it before my hand could land on his face.
" Don't you dare !! " He said and left my hand as if it was a live wire and my phone started buzzing again.
" Oh, it seems, he is missing you very badly. "
" Yeah !! I think so. Now start the car, he might be waiting for me." I said and looked at the phone which kept ringing persistently.
Siddharth was about to snatch the phone. But I turned to get it out of his reach. My dad was calling.
" Please quiet! "
" Hello ! "
" Where are you?? Bhai sahib just called to ask me why you have not reached there till now?? "
" Oh, we stopped in the midway to have lunch. We are on our way, will reach in about an hour. "
" Ok, fine. Call me when you reach there."
" Ji! " I said and he disconnected the call.
" Can you please drive, I have to reach there? "
" Ji ??? Oh, when did you become so obedient ?? Is the poor Kunal bored to death, waiting patiently outside your home ?? "
" Listen you stay here... I am going. There must be some bus coming within 10 minutes. I will catch that. Open the trunk, please. " I was trying to take out my stuff when he caught my hand and made me sit in the car.
" Shut up !!! Just sit in the car. " He said and started the car. He drove at a very high speed.
" Drive slow!! I don't want to die so young. "
" Don't worry. I won't let you die. " He said without looking at me and kept driving. He dropped me near my Tauji's place and once he saw me entering the home he left.
