"Mum , no dinner for us,"Jon said by standing between Bray and Jackie at the kitchen entrance.
"What do you mean?," mum asked by furrowing her eyebrows. Pausing her work she turned around to face them.
"Hmmm , ohhh, it means, ugh that we won't be at home for dinner tonight,"replied Bray by rubbing his palm against each other.
"Why,"mum questioned by crossing her arms on her chest and kept a step forward.
"Urghhhhhh,"Bray muttered, taking his sight away from mom. He nudged Jackie because he was keeping quiet and looking at mum with wide eyes.
Jackie instantly turned towards Bray and faced mum in a flash.
"Peter arranged a dinner for his high school friends, "Jackie replied in a way that he almost swallowed most of the words.
"Okay;"mom agreed and walked towards the wash basin.
"Nope! mum wait,"Jon exclaimed which made mum to halt and glance at them again.
"Yeah what else,"
"Hmm even Amy won't be here for dinner,"
"Even Anna,"Jackie added immediately after Jon completed his sentence.
"But what about them? Are three of you all keeping something under the hat,"
"What?no. ......... No.....nono,"
"I'll come back,"Anna shouted and walked towards the kitchen to get her tea. She halted at the entrance and looked at the three brothers who were glancing at her.
She walked in curiously by looking at them and stood beside Bray "Whats up,"she asked enthusiastically.
"Are you going tonight dear," mum asked.
Anna nodded.
"Anna, may you tell me where you are all going,"Mum asked with a pleasant smile on her face.
"Yeah of course I will.....we are going to....,"
"Friend's house,"Jon interrupted.
Anna faced Jon with her eyebrows raised. She turned back to look at mum when mum spoke.
"Who's house, "
"Peter's,"Bray interrupted,"we told you earlier right. "
"No mum," Anna mumbled but was interrupted by Jackie now.
"Mum, she came here for tea,"Jackie explained by rubbing the back of his neck.
Anna walked towards the pantry and grabbed her mug. Cheerfully she poured tea into her mug. She turned around and looked at the conversation again curiously .
Mum was staring at them without a blink.
"Where is Amy? I think she is missing me,"Jon spoke to himself and left the kitchen.
Anna looked at them and chuckled. She walked out by looking at Bray and Jackie.
"Anna,"Bray called out which made her to step back and turn around with the mug with her hand.
"I'll help you to find that book,"Bray said and kept a step back by looking at mum.
"What book ,'Anna asked curiously by curling her eyebrows.
"That book,'Bray stated and turned around to face Anna and he walked towards her. Pulling her arm ,both exited the kitchen.
"What are you going to tell,"Mum asked by raising her eyebrows at Jackie.
"I I I I'll help them,"he said in an innocent tone by pointing backwards.
"Anna will she be here on time, "Bray asked by knocking at Anna's room door with his face close to the door where his left cheek was on the door.
"Yeeeaaaahhh,"she sighed.
"You sure"
"Yes I am"
"On time right,"
Anna opened the door which made Bray move away from the door instantly. Keeping her palm on the door she glared at Bray.
"Hm Didn't you dress up,"Bray asked by keeping a step back. Anna remained silent without replying.
"Ohhh,"he scratched the back of his neck" I'm sorry alright. I just wanted to ensure that she will be here on time,"he said and ran downstairs immediately.
Amy usually wears long and formal dresses but for a change she wore a short prom dress. Her dress was pulled above her knee. It was purple in colour and with different sizes of spots on it. She tugged a pair of earrings into her ear hole. The ear ring was sparkling in silver with a shade of purple.
Anna stood in front of the mirror examining her dress. Looking at herself with a peach dress made her look odd. The dress was fitted on her body till the waist and it was flared from the waist till the knee. She inserted her finger into the cups of the dress and pulled them up. She felt uncomfortable with a dress without sleeves because she always rejected those dresses. She furrowed her eyebrows by keeping her hands on her waist.
"This is terrible. I should have put my clothes in the laundry,"she grumbled and turned around. Looking at her back from the mirror by turning her head she raised her eyebrows. "I don't look good in it."
Anna couldn't move on with this dress ,cause she always wear baggy t- shirts and shorts.
Moving her face closer to the mirror she tugged her dream catcher ear rings which was one of her favourites.
Jackie raised an eyebrow by looking at the mirror.
'Do I look good," he asked himself with a slight appealing smile on his face. He tugged his white shirt into his black pants. Adjusting the black bow on the collar of the white shirt he took one final look at the mirror.
"It's been a long time to be in a party. Hope that I don't trample her foot,"he winked at his image and dashed out of the room by pushing his phone in his pocket.
