He pulled out a piece of parchment from a huge stack, ready to start his alchemy experiment today. His initial idea is to try producing a knock-off Living Map on a small budget, enabling every little wizard at Hogwarts to have one.

Ian began to write swiftly, processing the parchment, and sketching magic circuits linked by magic runes on it. Although it was his first practical attempt, his technique was not unfamiliar.

This was found in the Room of Requirement, including the materials for writing magic runes also excavated from there; the trash hill really has everything.
Ian thinks the Room of Requirement is essentially another form of Doraemon.
He’s seriously considering moving his small classroom to the Room of Requirement in the future when he no longer needs to rely on it, as it shouldn’t remain a secret for all seven years of Ian’s study.
It exists there.
Yet is empty most of the time.
Isn’t it just like Muggle tycoons hoarding money, leaving it to rust unused? Those elites who regularly attend Ian’s small classroom are qualified to be privy to and use the Room of Requirement.

Even if not elites, Ian is confident in teaching them to become elites.
It’s just a matter of payment.

The initial making of a Living Map isn’t particularly complex, or at least Ian thinks so, whereas for other Hogwarts students, producing a Living Map would be an immense challenge.
Even the father of the Savior Harry Potter, whom Ian might call James Evans from Snape’s blood kin angle, was a privileged young ruffian who collaborated with other talented individuals, expending considerable effort to complete the first-generation Living Map.
In other words.
Most wizards from families without heritage can hardly manage that point alone. Ian hasn’t seen the twins’ map, but he has his own way of completing the Living Map.
"The key element is the real-time display of names and locations, which I can only complete at night when fewer people are around to notice."
Ian plans to produce fifty copies initially, then adjust according to users’ feedback; he isn’t worried about completing the most complex and heavy tasks of crafting the Living Map.
Recently, Ian gleaned some information from "Hogwarts: A Secret Chapter" that revealed artifacts named Pen of Admission and Book of Admission at Hogwarts, and these artifacts select and judge every student at Hogwarts, offering him the shortcut and insight for crafting the Living Map!

Ian does not know the operational principle of the Pen of Admission or the Book of Admission, nor understands why their range can sufficiently cover the entire United Kingdom.
Most current alchemists haven’t yet deciphered their secrets since the pages have never been touched by human fingers since the four founders placed them there upon the castle’s completion.
However.
So what?
Ian only knows that based on the snippets in "Hogwarts: A Secret Chapter," he found a way to add map information and markers to the parchment he’s creating.
Not to say it will completely succeed.
But he’s at least eighty to ninety percent confident.
