It turns out Ian’s decision was not wrong; although there are some signs of Fire Ash Snake activity in the washroom, the books hidden in the water tank remain intact.
However, Michael and William were not so lucky.
"Damn it! The Fire Ash Snake burned my underwear!" William felt his loss was tremendous; his face turned pale, looking as if he might faint at any moment.
"That was my newly bought underwear! It had a moving Dumbledore character pattern on it!" William’s wailing made Ian glance sideways.
He felt he should be wary of this roommate; which normal person would buy such a bizarre style of underwear? Wouldn’t it feel strange to wear it?
"Gone! All the food I painstakingly saved is gone! Damn Fire Ash Snake! When I grow up, I must invent a snake killer that can make them extinct!"
Michael, the black guy, also suffered significant losses; the food he secretly brought back from the hall was almost completely wiped out, but Ian thought it might not be such a bad thing.
"The stuff from last night has already gone stale."
He kindly consoled.
Yet the black guy showed an even more dejected expression, "They were just stale, not inedible; you only get diarrhea, and Madam Pomfrey’s potion in the infirmary tastes as good as a drink."
Such reasonable speech.
Ian wondered if his roommates had some mental issues.
"Next time, remember to secretly bring me two bottles."
He probably wasn’t normal either, feeling somewhat curious about the taste of the potion. After inspecting his own bed, Ian found he wasn’t completely without loss.
The quilt and sheets were already damaged beyond repair, carrying a burnt smell and color; even the suitcase under the bed didn’t escape the fate of being ravaged by the Fire Ash Snake.
These were not big issues.
After all, there’s magic.
"I say, the school should compensate for our losses." William complained indignantly; his clothes and socks suffered too, but his reaction didn’t match the loss of underwear.
"Whoever did this should be found and made to pay; I wonder if the professors can find out who." Michael was quite reasonable, though unfortunately, his idea was destined not to happen.
Those who need compensation are still at Hogwarts... It’s just that, Aflisson Carlo is now everywhere.
"I need to calm down."
Ian searched his suitcase; some of his clothes were also badly damaged, but the few cans of soda he brought from the Muggle World to the Wizarding World remained intact.
"Thank Amal Kleian Friez for inventing the pop-top can." Ian popped the tab of one can of cola and took a strong gulp.
"Restoration!"
Ian cast a Repairing Charm towards the bottle mouth, and the can that had been opened was closed back as tightly as if it had never been opened.
"I love magic!"
Ian popped the tab again.
It is widely known.
The first sip of cola is the best tasting.
"Can you restore my underwear?" William brought a handful of ashes to Ian’s bed; clearly, he hadn’t yet learned this magic spell casting towards the end of the first year.
Regarding Ian’s cola.
He and Michael had already seen it and weren’t very interested. For those who encounter it once, cola indeed doesn’t attract as much as it does to its die-hard fans.
In terms of sweetness.
Many Wizarding World drinks are much sweeter than cola.
"Ugh~~"
Ian burped long, looking at the fragments in William’s hand, "I think even Merlin couldn’t turn this back to its original form."

Ian tried nonetheless.
As expected, for things that have completely transformed into another substance, only the Transformation Technique might handle its workload, but even after withdrawing its "Influence," the ashes would still be ashes.
"Just buy another pair."
Ian didn’t want to see himself needing to go all out someday, while on the other side, his roommate’s underwear turns to ash; he could only shake his head, indicating he was powerless.
"This was limited edition!"
William looked sad, packing the handful of ashes into a small box at his bed, unsure whether to motivate his magic studies or for another purpose.
"Restoration!"
Ian started repairing the mess in the dormitory as much as possible, making everyone’s bed new again and restoring the damaged furniture and tables to their original perfect appearance.
"You’re really amazing; no wonder you don’t study much at night; you must have already learned all the first-year content!" William didn’t forget to praise Ian amidst his grief.
"You’re only eleven, why is your imagination so small!" Ian finally began repairing his suitcase; after a series of operations, he didn’t feel tired at all.
With magic power at level eight.
The fiery fire in the corridor earlier today didn’t make him feel much burden.
"Where did you go during the time in the hall? I wanted to share the Bibiduo Flavor Beans Rebecca gave me, but I couldn’t find you after searching for so long." Michael had already recovered from the sadness of losing food; he pulled out an empty box from his robe.
"It’s the first gift she gave to me, though she left some; I must cherish it forever, telling our story to our children later."
