Giovanni had asked me to accompany him to the mall to help get his mother a birthday gift. Ariella's birthday was in two days, Giovanni had called to ask if she was coming back to New York for her birthday. She had told him she planned on staying for a month because she needed a little bonding time with her family.
I still haven't told him about the baby, only Vicky still knows. I plan on going to the hospital the day after Ariella's birthday and already booked an appointment with the doctor. Right now we were in front of Billionaire's Row , one of the most expensive streets in New York. Even though I had grown up with the privilege of being rich, I was still baffled by the high price of things sold here.
Giovanni took my hand, pulling me into the shop. The moment we stepped foot in, all the attention turned to us, Giovanni to be specific. Giovanni didn't seem to mind as we kept moving around the shop.
I watched as people sneakily tried to take pictures of him while some, gasped and pointed at him like they couldn't no they were actually seeing Giovanni Reeves. I felt a little discomfort about their stare but I made sure not to show it, keeping my head raised high while walking beside him.
" I know you hate this attention on you, so don't focus on them but me." Giovanni whispered softly against my ear. " Pretend like it's just the two of us." Hearing his words helped me feel a little bit better. I knew there were still people watching us but like Giovanni suggested, I tried not to focus on them.
" What kind of gift do you have in mind?" I asked him, distracting myself from the flashy light of cameras and girl squeals as we walked past them.
" I have no clue, I thought of getting her a bag but that's what I got her last year. I want something unique, something different that she would like." He said and I nodded my head, understanding what he meant.
" Why don't we try the jewelry store and see if we can get a customized necklace made for her. I think Ariella would love it, what do you think." I asked, looking up at him to find me already staring at me with a smile on his face. I blush a little looking away. He always managed to make my tummy swamp with butterflies.
" I think that is a good idea Roy." Giovanni beamed. " I knew it was a wise decision to seek your knowledge amore." He complimented, pecking the back of my hand in his hold. I smiled as we both made our way to the jewelry store, we were immediately attended to the minute we stepped into the store
. " Good morning Mr. Reeves, Mrs. Reeve. " The manager greeted with a polite smile on her face. She acted professional, not fangirling over Giovanni or trying to get his attention and that made me happy.
" Good morning,...." I looked down at the name tag before speaking again. " Olivia." I greeted back while Giovanni gave her a curt nod. " We would like to see one of your finest pieces of jewelry."
" Oh sure, right this way." Olivia said directing us into another room filled with a lot of expensive looking jewelries.
" Do you have a specific kind you want?" I looked at Giovanni to see if there was a type of jewelry he wanted for his mother .
He nodded before speaking ."I would like to see Platinum metal "
" We do have a lot of Platinum jewelry here, if you are looking for something unique, we had a Platinum jewelry shipped here yesterday." Olivia explained. " It hasn't been put on display yet but we have people calling in trying to negotiate a price."
"I Would like to take a look at it." Giovanni states in a matter of fact tone. "
It's in our private sector, we don't display such items here. I would lead the way for you." She says to Giovanni, making her way out of the room .
"Why don't you follow her, I will wait for you here." I said to him, I wanted to look around the place even though I wasn't buying anything, I still couldn't help but be stunned by how beautiful they looked.
" Okay, don't go anywhere. I will be right back." Giovanni said, placing a kiss on my forehead, before leaving the room.
I returned my gaze from the door to the jewelries in front of me, I walked around looking at the beautiful kinds of necklace and earrings. I didn't touch them, because I knew that would be wrong. I just kept looking at them until a particular one caught my eyes. It Was displayed at the far end of the shelf, very hard to notice. I walked over to where it was, caught in awe by how beautiful it looked. I didn't notice how long I stood there, until I felt a hand wrap around my waist and a familiar cologne hit my nostrils. I smelled , turning around to see Giovanni standing behind me.
" Have you gotten it?" I asked, referring to the jewelry.
" Yes, it will be delivered to the house by tomorrow evening, they just need to add a little bit of inscription in it." He responded , taking a hold of my hand in his.
" Since we are here, I need to get some things also. with you here, why don't you be the judge." I teased, making him laugh.
" My own personal fashion show." He replied, with an exciting smile dancing around his lips. I laughed pulling him along and we both left the store, going over to the clothing store for females. Loud squeals filled the room when the women saw Giovanni, I was beginning to rethink coming here and wanted to tell Giovanni that it was best we go home but before I could say anything we were interrupted by two ladies, walking towards us.
