Jessica was sitting at a desk, staring at her laptop screen. When she came up with the idea to start her revenge on Edwin, It was easy, too easy. She just needed to find a way to get into their computer system. She had so many ideas but she didn't know which was more plausible, to begin with. But she knew it would be something that would make him regret messing with her.
Jessica wanted to hack into Edwin's company's system and steal some important files from them. She knew that although the company was very good at security, she was better. So she went into their system and searched for the perfect files to steal. Her eyes were crinkled as a victory smirk spread across her beautiful face. She had found the perfect one! It wasn't only belonging to them, but also the Reid family as well. A beautiful collaboration to destroy.
"Ha!" She snorted. She wasted no time in stealing the files. Once she had the files, she sent them to her computer and deleted them. She didn't bother clearing traces or links that could help them trace it back to her. She was so good that before it would be traced, it could take a longer time. And she could have done something else to turn their minds away from her for a while. But even if they did find her, she wasn't going to deny it. At least it would let him know that she was out for revenge, and she meant business.
Then while she was about to log out, her eyes caught a document with the name of the new contract she was bidding on.
"Well well well…" she muttered to herself as she opened it. "What do we have here? You wanna compete with me? Isn't this beautiful?"
She read through the documents. They were beautifully explained, that too in a very detailed manner. She could already see whoever presented it as the winner.
"Well, that would be me of course." She chuckled. "Edwin, let's see what your girlfriend's company also has to offer."
She hacked into the Reid company's system as well. She also saw the documented presentation for the same contract.
"Aww. Love." She mocked. Scowling at no one in particular. She began to change things there. The presentation date was the following day, so there would be no time to recheck the documents. She changed all the words there, making it sound so amateur and inexperienced.
Once she was done, she prepared her presentation again, using the wonderful ideas she had gotten from Turner Group and the Reid family's company.
By the following morning, she dressed very smartly. One look at her, and one would know she had confidence that she had won whatever she was going for. She did have confidence because she knew what she had done behind the scenes.
With a very bright smile, she walked into the company with her laptop and files in hand. She was ushered into the conference room. Jessica sat for a few seconds, then she got up and introduced herself to them. She shared the hard copies of her presentation with the audience present. Setting up a projector, and connecting her laptop to it, she began to speak.
She was eloquent, fluent, and very brisk. She gave details, and at some point, she was opaque. It left her audience hungry for more information. It was a plan she deployed to have them ask questions. That was something most companies failed to understand. It was important to have to question you, it showed their interest.
After her presentation, she was applauded properly. They promised to get in touch with her.
When Turner Group was called upon, Edwin walked in with his secretary and the person in charge of the department responsible for the development of the project for the contract on which they were bidding for.
His secretary set up the projector and allowed the man to begin his speech. Edwin was surprised when he listened to what the man was saying. It was utter gibberish. He frowned slightly.
Turning the laptop to himself, he began to crosscheck. He saw that the file had been tampered with.
"What the f-" he paused.
"Mr. Turner, there seems to be a problem with your presentation." One member of the audience spoke. "And how do I put it? It's uh… it's useless. It lacks any form or phase. It doesn't make any sense at all."
Edwin could feel his blood boiling. He got up angrily and left.
"Please tell your boss to work on his qualifications as well. Everything I've read in these documents is very terrible and it couldn't take him any further." Another member said to the secretary. The lady nodded her head hurriedly. Edwin was going to slaughter her! She and the presenter struggled to keep up with him.
The same thing happened to the Reid family. Mr. Reid left the office boiling with anger. So much that he was red all over. He kept hurling curses at whoever was responsible for his embarrassment.
Jessica was in her office, doing her usual research when she received an email from the company she has bidded the contract with. She smirked even before checking it. Yes, she was that confident.
"Congratulations, Ms. Graves. Graves Construction has been awarded the contract for the building and supply of the city mall. We hope to have a pleasant time working with you." She read out. "Ha!" She laughed.
"Victory is so sweet, I never knew." She wiped her eyes.
Her smile remained on her face while she did the rest of her work. She began to make preparations for the deal which she had won. She tapped furiously on her laptop. The step she had taken was also quite risky. Turner Group might not press a charge if Edwin found out she was the one, but the Reid family might do that. She went back to clear her path and erase the link from the Reid family.
