A worker noticed him and called him out.
"President Turner!" He greeted him. Everyone's attention was drawn to the man who stood there, watching the scene with amusement in his eyes.
"Daddy!" Abby called excitedly. She ran to meet him. Everyone held their hearts in their hands as they watched the little girl run toward their president. But to their utmost shock, Edwin picked the girl up. He ruffled her hair softly and affectionately.
Everyone was surprised. Their shock was visible by the way their jaws dropped.
Gabby smirked in victory. He was tired of the drama, so meeting his father was worth it. Edwin held out his hand for him. Gabby quickly placed his hand in his dad's own.
"Dad, these bags are uncomfortable," Gabby said loudly. Edwin nodded. He turned to a security man by the door.
"You, quick. Collect their bags and place them in my car." He ordered. The man nodded. He quickly took their bags and lunch boxes to be placed in Edwin's car.
Edwin took them into his presidential elevator. He placed them down to sit with him. Coming down, he was eager to meet them, so he didn't bother sitting down.
"What are your names?" Edwin asked them. He didn't know how to converse with them.
"I'm Gabriel, my sister is Abigail," Gabby said.
"But everyone calls us Gabby and Abby," Abigail added.
"Well, I'm glad to meet you. How did you guys find this place? Did you come alone?" Edwin asked. The elevator doors opened, and he led them out and into his office.
"Bridget, cancel every appointment for the rest of the day. Don't allow anyone in." He ordered. Bridget nodded. She was also in shock at how the kids got his attention so easily.
"Well, we had our driver drop us off here. It wasn't an easy fit." Gabby shook his head as he spoke. Edwin chuckled. He could already tell that Gabby was the most active one out of the twins.
Abby was quiet, relaxing in his arms.
"Do you like this place?" Edwin asked, showing off his office and all his cool gadgets. Gabby liked it, but that wasn't his reason for coming here.
"Daddy, will you call me your princess?" Abby asked. She remembered how her grandpa called her mother princess all the time.
Gabby rolled his eyes. "You're just jealous of mom."
Edwin noticed what was going on. He smirked. "Of course princess. You're daddy's princess." He said. Abby's smile grew very wide. Gabby scowled at her. Why was she smiling so widely? They had a mission!
Abby understood the look on his face, so she climbed down her father's body. The two of them stood before him, arms crossed over their chest.
"What?" Edwin asked in confusion.
"Daddy, I don't think you are man enough," Gabby said, looking straight into Edwin's eyes with his emerald green eyes just like Jessica's. Edwin was only truly noticing how green they were.
"Why?"
"That's because you can't even get mummy to like you!" Abby responded, blinking her big hazel eyes just like his.
"It's not that easy." He said. "You guys do not understand."
"And that's why I said you are not man enough. If you are, you would make efforts to win her." Gabby said lightly.
Abby nodded, supporting her brother. "That's right, dad. So if you want to prove that you are man enough, you have to make mommy like you."
Staring at his mini-version and the adorable girl version of himself, Edwin vowed to get Jessica back, the only girl that made his heart flutter. Even though he hurt her badly.
He could tell how hurt she was especially from the way she sent him away that morning. He might not know exactly how to make things right with her, but he knew that he had to create a perfect family for these kids who found a way to him, and tell him to his face that he wasn't man enough.
"So kids, tell me about yourself," Edwin said on a lighter note.
"Do you promise to get mommy back?" Gabby asked in return. Edwin was taken aback. The boy talked too much.
"Gabriel." Edwin scolded lightly. "Fine, I will do as you have said. But will you allow me to get to know you guys?"
Abby smiled and relaxed on him again. Gabby finally eased up a bit.
"Dad, you have cool gadgets here! Can we see some of them?" Gabby finally asked, interested in the gadgets Edwin had shown him earlier.
Edwin chuckled. He liked that his son wasn't easily distracted. "Come with me."
He took them to the store of the company where they kept new gadgets that hadn't been put out for sale yet. He showed them different gadgets.
"Look at these glasses. They can show you different things on the internet. It's mostly used by people who are taking difficult exams or tests."
Gabby took them off his hand and put them on his face. They were bigger than his head. Edwin laughed at his appearance. He placed the glasses back.
"Here, this is a special bracelet. It has a tracking device on it. So when one wears it, the giver can always find their location."
Abby cooed at it. She loved bracelets.
"Here, let me find you guys something I could use to always reach out to you with." Edwin searched through and found a wristwatch. It had a mobile communication option. They could communicate without any SIM card. So long as the other party also had the smartwatch. After giving them one each, he brought them out of the store.
"Alright, let's get you guys home. Mom must be worried about you." He said. Gabby and Abby were a little sad that their day with their dad was about to end. He took them down and drove them home personally. He didn't follow them in, but he watched them go in safely before he drove away.
