The weather was the same as when Lestat was going to arrive. The sky was dark as night, and the weather wasn’t great. Today, history was repeating itself. The only difference was that this time Lestat wasn’t coming in his adult form but in his mini version.
Theodore looked at Liara in a panic because she was fully exhausted and super-duper tired. Well, he couldn’t blame her for that because the thing inside her had sucked almost all her blood and wasn’t letting her heal.
Long story short, he was blocking her from using her powers.
"Cut it and get that thing out of my system." She growled. Just eight days and that thing had grown up inside her to the size of a normal pup and maybe fully matured.
Theodore nodded her head because Liara’s eyes had started to close. It was clear that if that thing stayed inside her for an hour, it would lead to Liara’s death.
"You can do it." Alaric motivated him when Theodore’s hand shook while grabbing the knife. Taking a deep breath, he cut her stomach. A lot of blood started oozing out of her body.
'Fuck! She already had limited blood.'
He then parted her skin to take that thing out. He inserted his hand inside and carefully pulled it out.
That thing was..... a boy.
He had black hair, just like Theodore and Lestat, while his eyes were closed. Alaric grabbed a fresh towel and placed it where Theodore could keep it.
Theodore shifted his attention to Liara, who was breathing heavily. He grabbed the syringe filled with the medicine used to heal any creature faster than they could. He slammed it in the middle of her chest and emptied it before throwing it away.
"You okay, now?"
"Why is that thing not crying?" Liara asked with concern. Theodore didn’t miss how her heart was pounding loudly inside her. She cared for him.
"Is it important for a baby to cry?" Alaric asked, looking at the tiny creature in his arms. Theodore quickly snatched him from his arms to check on him, shouting, "Shoot! It has been years since I became a father."
"He doesn’t have a heartbeat," Theodore muttered in tension. He tried to give him mouth-to-mouth, turning him around and rubbing his back, but nothing happened.
Tears dwelled in Liara’s eyes. Didn’t she want the same? Then why was she feeling so sad?
"Give him to me." She said, forwarding her hands.
Theodore did the same. Liara held him close to her eyes and watched his face carefully; she couldn’t help but recall Lestat’s face. Holding her hatred towards that person away, she caressed his face, and all of a sudden, he opened his red eye like a fucking vampire. Not once did he cry like a normal pup; he just looked at the woman in front of him.
"Here, take him." She muttered, ready to pass him to Theodore; that was when the little one started crying and his eyes turned a baby blue color, just like Lestat's.
"Maybe he is hungry." Theodore pointed him out but didn’t take a step towards taking him from Liara’s arms.
Liara’s jaw tightened upon hearing this.
"I should go and tell everyone that it’s a boy again," Alaric spoke to give them privacy.
"Lia, please don’t be harsh on him if you’ve planned to keep him," Theodore suggested. Liara heard an earful of scolding from her mother when she told her everything and also about her decision to get rid of him.
