Days, weeks and months passed by quiety and without a trace. I worked hard and trained even harder during the day, and held Sophie's hand during the night.
I didn't want to admit it, but my hope of her waking up seemed more and more slim with each passing day. The only question which stayed was how will she give birth if she doesn't wake up?
A week before her birthday I had a gynecologist check the baby; it was the first time I had seen it through scan. I didn't see much, it was like a small ball in her belly, but what mattered most was that it was okay; there were no traces of any sickness.
It was what had worried me the most- what if the baby had any concequences from the hit? Then it would be just another thing I caused and I do not know if I would survive the guilt.
Today is a pretty tough day; it's Sophie's eighteenth birthday.
"Hey, baby." I whisper, reaching over to her to put a kiss on her cheek. The nurse usually came at around eight in the morning now that she's been stable for a month, which gives me more privacy in the morning to be as much of a pathetic bastard as I want to be.
"It's your birthday today, you know. Your eighteenth birthday, so it's about time you wake up. I would like to give you a big kiss and I can't do that if you're sleeping." I say, sighing.
I didn't now if I should get her a present or not, but decided to get her one anyway because if she woke up it would be very awkward if I didn't have a present for her. I'll just give it to her whenever she wakes up.
"You ready?" coach comes in. "You're late for training."
"I see you haven't forgotten that you have to be a pain in my ass today."
"Lose that attitude, son. Let's go, c'mon." he presses on and groan.
"It's her birthday, can I just have a free day today?" I basically beg him. "One fucking free day."
He considers it for a second. "Nah, you'll get your free day when she wakes up."
"Oh, it'll be more than just a free day when she wakes up." I immediately say and he shakes his head.
"Depends on when that happens. If it's after the season is over, you can have a whole week as much as I care." he replies.
That idiot. He actually thinks that I'll fight when she wakes up. I'll run off with her if I have to.
"You could be getting better right now instead of laying in bed." coach huffs as he looks at me pulling the comforter higher up my body.
"Five more minutes." I mumble and close my eyes, turning on my side. In the next moment, the comforter is gone and he's frowning down at me.
"I hate you." I narrow my eyes at him.
"And I don't care. Be in the gym in five minutes or else."
With that he leaves, leaving me fuming.

Sophie's P.O.V.
Oh, god, I really screwed up I think to myself, watching the newest episode.
Axel's standing behind me in front of a glass wall in his new bedroom, frowning down at me. He's been off for a while, it was oblious, and when I asked him what is wrong, he got all defensive.
He must have me for getting pregnant.
"Are you hiding something from me?" I ask him and he immediately denies it, calling me crazy.
Something must really be wrong and I watch with horror the way their conversation contioues, Axel's anger accelarating.
"This better be pregnancy speaking and not you because I won't have such a dumb fucking girlfriend that she doesn't understand a simple fucking phrase 'I'm okay'." he says and I feel so angry at this guy for talking to some other version of me like this.
After all this time that I envied myself, I do not wish to be in her position in this moment.
"Well then find yourself a new one if I'm too stupid for you!" the other me shouts back at him and I clap my hands.
You go, Sophie!
"Maybe I should." he narrows his eyes and I can't believe what I'm hearing.
"What is wrong with you?" the other Sophie whispers and runs off.
I feel sympathy for her. She didn't deserve this, no matter how annoying she could get at times.
I gasp as I observe a car running at her with full speed, hitting her, and in the moment it's all cleared out.
Everrything.
That wasn't any other girl with the same name and face as me, it actually was me.
I was the girl in these episodes; they weren't episodes, they were memories of me and-
Axel. He's real.
He's my boyfriend and the father of my child.

I open my eyes, looking up at the unknown ceiling above me.
