I put the rose flower beside Lileth's bed with chocolate. We just arrived from the mansion. We had dinner with the family. Everyone was there, including Lauren and Dale, who had just arrived from vacation. The couple gave us a present because they had just returned from Palawan.
Daze brought Lileth here, and while I was on the way I saw someone selling flowers so I thought of buying to give to her. She is in the bathroom now to get dressed for bed and I have already taken the opportunity to put the flower next to the bed.
I smile while seeing the flowers. I know she will like it. Hopefully, the day will come when I can give it to her properly. I reach for her hand following a tight hug to her.
"Dustine."
"Ow, sorry." I ran as fast as I could to avoid her when I hear her call me. I saw her standing in front of the door. I wanted to laugh at my running speed when I saw her. I just don't want her to be afraid of me so when I heard her voice I immediately ran.
"Sorry, Dustine. You always adjusted because of me."
"No. it's fine. "
"I will help myself, Dustine,"
"I know. By the way, I bought flowers on my way home. I hope you will like it." She looked at the table and then sat on the bed. She took the rose and then smelled it.
"I have collected all the petals you gave me."
"Did you like it?" She nodded in response.
"Thank you, Dustine."
"I'm happy to see you smiling," I said seriously. "And I'm glad you like it, too."
"I really appreciate it." No one talks until I notice what she was wearing.
"I just saw that now. Is that new?" I praised. She was wearing a red nightgown. "You look sexier in that dress."
"Really?" I saw her blush so I smiled.
"Yup, is that what Lauren gave you?"
"Yes, it's cute and I really like it."
My phone beeped so I took it to look who send me a message. I received a message from Dane so I fixed it and immediately read it. I just laughed and put down the cellphone again after I replied. I looked at Lileth who was staring at me.
"Dane," I said so she wouldn't have to think about anything. "Asked where in Hong Kong daddy bought the five Shaolin ninja collection. I think Ace broke five last night."
"It's expensive, right?"
"Yes, and it's so expensive that you can't find that because it's all alone. It's an antique that is 100 years old from Tin Hau Temple."
"Ow."
"Dylan can fix that. Not as exactly the same but he can make it better."
"Damon is good in everything."
"He's good at fixing, as well." No one spoke to us again. She was just sitting on the bed and so was I on my bed.
This is our routine at night. Talk to her so that she can be comfortable.
"What did Dale give you?" later she asked.
"A painting, I already put it in my office."
"Ah,"
"Are you going to sleep?" I asked when I saw that she had wrapped herself in a blanket.
"Later, why?"
"I am not yet sleepy. Wanna talk?"
"All right, open the topic," she said. I thought of something to talk about. I don't know what to start and how to start. All I wanted was to talk happily. Talk that will help him to heal. Conversations can bring us back to good.
As long as I can I don't want us to talk about the painful past anymore. I want happy memories when we come back or plan for the future. To encourage her to heal faster.
"Dustine."
"Lileth." We once mentioned each other's names and then we laughed. "Go on," I added.
"I just remember when we went on tour. You fell into the ditch because you were afraid of lizards." I laugh hard as I remember that scene. I couldn't help myself from laughing when I remembered that embarrassing incident.
"Yeah," I said but I didn't stop either and laughed out loud again. She laughed too.
I tried to be cool at the time. It's a University tour of the zoo. We passed a large tree but on the side, there was a ditch. They pointed to the monkey so we were all there for the attention. But that stupid monkey through something and me went.
I remain cool even though I'm a little nervous about what that is. But, I was shocked when I saw the lizard on my shoulder pointed by Cooper so I jumped without any words but I tripped and fell into the ditch which was still a bit dark because of the mud.
"That was the epic embarrassment I received because of that fucking monkey. Is he still alive?" No one quite knows why I jumped. Our companions did not see the monkey's stone at me. Only she and Cooper saw so Cooper immediately pointed to warn me.
"I think yes, monkeys live long.
"I hope it's dead." And we both laugh.
"But Dustine, it's more fun than we thought the bus left us so we waited for a ride. Then we took a bus that looked like a school bus and we were surprised because the driver was a school bus driver. We just laughed when we realized how stupid we were." We both laughed at the same time when we remembered that.
"Yes, then Cooper said he was looking for us but could not find us. We were even reported missing and that's why the bus went there to look for us. The students were even surprised when the school bus returned that we were inside the bus as they went around the whole area to look for us."
"Yes, we were the ones who got lost but we thought we were left behind."
"And they are all looking at us. Not knowing what was running through their minds. It's like they're asking us where the hell we go but no one spoke."
We laugh and laugh. I even wiped my eyes because I was already in tears with laughter. When we stopped we looked at each other and the tears of happiness were replaced by tears of sadness.
"Everything is gonna be ok," I said while in tears. "You will be ok." I wanted to hold her hand to let her know that I am here but I was just out of breath. But I know she will be ok.
"I want to be ok." And the laughter was replaced by crying. "I'll be ok because you'll still hug me and kiss me."
"Yes, so please help yourself."
