Meeting Mr. Xander

"Where are we going?" Nathan asked.
"To the office. Mr. Xander wants to speak to me," I said I climbed into the bath top.
"But do I have to tag along," Nathan grumbled and I shook my head before reaching for my tooth brush and applying my toothpaste.
"I'm certain Xander is going to be there with his personal assistant and several people from his company, the least I can do is have a personal assistant with me."
"So get ready and don't make me look cheap."

"What do you think Mr. Xander wants to discuss?" I asked and faced sideways to look at Nathan who was driving the car.
Nathan remained silent for a while before facing me.
"I think he's going to choose Rivera to work with him on the project," Nathan said with an optimistic smile and I scoffed lightly.
"He's the most stuck up man I've ever met, for all I know he might be here to do some stupid analysis or something," I said with my face squeezed in irritation. I really hated any second of conversation with that man. He was really good at getting on my nerves.
Nathan chuckled and I glared at him, "what's funny?"
"It's just funny hearing you describe yourself," Nathan said and chuckled again.
"I'm not like that. I just don't like to keep formal relationship as much as I can," I retorted, defending myself quickly.
"Right." I didn't miss the sarcasm in his voice and he pressed his lips into a tight line before facing the road.
I faced the other side, looking out the window with my fingers rhythmically tapping the side of the car.
"Well, if he messes with me, I'm not go name give a damn. I'm going to call his shit." I faced Nathan and he shook his head.
"We're talking about constructing two major government estate, you have to pull yourself together cause we need him," Nathan said and I rolled my eyes.
"I don't need anyone," I retorted.
"Yes, you do. Rivera Consolidated does. We need Mr. Xander to pick us as his partner," Nathan stated z shaking his head.
"It's not only going to boost the company financially, it's going to attract other clients," Nathan added and I sighed.
"I'll try my best," I said and looked up as the car slowly approached the tall building of Rivera Consolidated headquarter.
Nathan drove the car into the compound and he slowly brought the car to a halt in the parking lot.
I opened the door and climbed down from the car, slamming it shut.
Nathan sighed loudly as he switched off the engine and took out the key. He climbed out too and he walked over to my side.
"Let's go," Nathan said and he walked past me.
"Hold on," I said and Nathan stopped, turning around.
"I didn't notice earlier, but why the hell are you dressed like this," I said looking at the three thousand dollar suit Nathan wore. It was an expensive piece that my dad gifted to him after his college graduation years ago.
"What? You said you didn't want to look cheap, aren't you....." He stopped talking as he took a look at my dress. I was also wearing a suit, but a person like Xander would easily see the difference in the two suits.
"Oh. I'm just gonna take it off," he said and he reached for the button, but I stopped him..
"No, don't. It doesn't matter," I said and Nathan hesitated for a while before nodding.
"Morning, Mr. Rivera," the security at the door greeted and I regarded him with a nod before walking into the building.
As I stepped in, I saw Kara hurry towards me and I stopped walking.
"Mr. Xander is waiting upstairs," she said and I nodded before walking past her and going into the elevator.
Nathan walked in too and I leaned on the wall of the elevator as I felt it move.
The elevator soon beeped and hissed open. I walked out of the elevator with Nathan and he opened the door of my office.
As I stepped into the office, I saw Viktor sitting on one of the chairs at my desk while Mr. Xander and his personal assistant sat on a couch by the wall.
Mr. Xander looked up at me with a stoic expression before raising his hand up and looking at the wristwatch on his wrist.
"You said you would be here in ten minutes. You're eight minutes late," he said and he stood up from the couch.
I nodded and I walked to my desk, sitting on my chair.
"Sorry about that, I wasn't exactly ready to meet with anyone today," I replied with a light fake smile and I pointed at the chair in front of my desk.
"Well, youll have to pardon me because I came here, expecting that a leader and good businessman would be at his place of work daily to oversee how things are run rather than staying at home all day and leaving everything to his workers," Mr Xander said softly and he glanced up at Viktor with a slight fold on his forehead.
"I guess it's all about trust and well, I'm not someone with trust issues," I said and plastered on another fake smile.
"So, I'm guessing the reason you're here is to discuss the proposal on the government project," I said and Xander nodded.
"Would it be too forward to assume that the reason you're here is because you picked Rivera Consolidated?" I asked with the fake smile still on my face and I was trying so hard to maintain it when the jerk sitting before me was looking as cold as one of those Rogues I torture.
"You're right. It would. The project is a big deal and I'm not just going to pick random competence-lacking garages in the making," he said and the smile on my face wore off immediately.
