Ava smiled at that and reached out to replace her phone on the table. She was sure Hunter would skin Alex alive if he heard about what happened tonight.
" Dumbass, were you planning on telling him before? " There came her intrusive little lady.
Ava just rolled her eyes, too occupied with the thoughts of her boss to banter words with her inner voice. Her hands accidentally brushed her breasts and she got reminded of when he sucked her titties. Damn, the guy really knew how to satisfy a woman, she would give him that. She fell asleep thinking and fantasizing about him.

" Good morninggg! " Ava greeted cheerfully as she entered the kitchen and Maggie replied with the same energy.
" Good morning sweetheart, did you sleep well? " She asked and a smile was evident on her face.
Ava nodded gayly " Yeah yeah, I had a good night rest "
Maggie nudged her by the elbow lightly " And how was your date? Did he play the perfect gentleman? " She asked and her eyes twinkled knowingly.
Ava laughed lightly " Of course, I enjoyed every bit of it till the last minute "
Maggie looked excited " That's great! I'm glad you had a nice time " And she added " Saw Alexander last night after you left, he looked so mad "
Ava left the dishes and turned to Maggie " And why do you look so happy that he was mad? " She placed her hands on her hips and she playfully scolded Maggie.
Maggie laughed so hard that tears started gathering in her eyes " Hey spare me that, he doesn't have any right to look the way he did last night. You guys are not dating, are you? So tell me child, what right does he have to be so mad? "
Ava just smiled and shook her head. If there was anyone who didn't fear the boss, it was Maggie and Ava thought it was probably because she had known him for a long time.
" You don't too " Maggie said out of the blue and Ava looked startled.
" Huh? " She asked, looking confused.
Maggie gave her a knowing look and repeated " I said you do not fear him too, do you? " And her eyes searched Ava's for answers.
Ava widened her eyes like it was wrong to even think such a thing.
" What do you mean, he's the boss Maggie and we're supposed to accord him that respect "
But Maggie shook her head " No you don't, and I think it's cool. Knowing how to put anyone in his place is your specialty " She finished with a short laugh.
Ava imitated her action and they ended up laughing together. It was funny how these two became close in a short period of time.
" Okay, let me go tidy up Mr Alex's room and leave you to work " Ava told Maggie and started to take her leave.
" He's not in, he went out very early this morning " Maggie informed her.
" Oh " Was the only word she could utter. Where did he go so early and why? Was he avoiding her because of what happened? Did he regret the kiss and everything else that happened? These were the disturbing thoughts which clouded her mind. She knew she read too much meaning into things but she couldn't help it.
Maggie tapped her lightly on her arm " Ava, are you okay? " And she successfully pulled Ava out of her thoughts.
" Huh? " Ava said in a daze.
" I've been talking for a while and noticed you were lost in thoughts, are you okay? " Maggie asked again and this time, Ava nodded.
" Yeah, I'm okay " She assured Maggie and excused herself with a smile and left. Maggie stared after her, wondering why she looked sad.

Alex groaned and rubbed his eyes. Oh fuck, he was damn tired and had not had enough sleep in the past few days. He considered sleeping in the next morning but dismissed the thought the minute he recalled what happened between he and Ava. He had not set his eyes on her for the past few days and God, he missed her so much. So much that he ached for her. He let out another groan and stood up with a stretch of his body. A knock was heard and some seconds later, it opened to reveal his secretary, Emily. She walked briskly towards him and placed some files on the table.
" Here are the files sir, you have an appointment with Miss Lauren by 12pm. Should I arrange a lunch meeting? " She asked
Alex nodded immediately " Yeah, that will be good "
" She also said she wouldn't sign the contract without meeting with you so you shouldn't try to find a way out of meeting with her physically " She informed him.
Alex's eyebrows furrowed in a frown and for a minute, he thought about what she said looking at her " I didn't say I won't meet up with her, did I? "
Emily sighed " You used to anyway, she asked me to relay the message for you "
" Thank you " Alex replied and started looking through the files.
Emily nodded and walked away. As if she remembered something, she paused at the door and turned back to him.
" A personal advice sir, this contract is worth some million dollars so please do well. Heard your client is very strict and may not give in easily " It was like she had rehearsed all that in her head.
Alex smiled at her words of encouragement and nodded " Thanks Emily, I appreciate it really "
Emily nodded again and went out. He went through the files again and put them on the table before checking his wrist watch. It was 11:30am. He brought out his phone and called his driver to get the car ready.
