He looked on in boredom as the guy beat around the bush for a while, not getting straight to the point immediately.
" Lamar " He finally cut in when he couldn't bear with it anymore.
" Sir? " Lamar replied with a flushed face because he knew Alex understood what he was into.
" Can you go straight to the point please? Thank you " Alex said calmly and relaxed back in his chair as he studied Lamar calmly.
Lamar took a deep breath and started talking " Miss Adams went to do grocery shopping "
" Okay thank you, you may go now " Alex dismissed him with a wave of his hand. He looked up after he noticed that Lamar didn't make any attempt to leave.
" Anything else, Lamar! " Alex asked with a raise of his eyebrows.
" Uh, I think you need to see this " Lamar replied quickly and handed some photos to Alex when he extended his hand for the photos to be passed to him. A minute later, Black saw rage slowly crept up from within Alex. His jaw was clenched and he clutched the photos in his large fists. After another minute of silence, he finally spoke,
" What the hell?! " He whispered hoarsely. There was range evident in his voice.
From the way he reacted, Lamar could guess the lady in question meant much more than Alex revealed. He understood him though. He knew Alex was a private person who liked to keep his interests private.
Without looking up, he said to Lamar " Alright thank you. You may go " He said
Lamar nodded and took his leave. Alex listened to his footsteps as they faded away. He then stood up and started pacing back and forth, his mind occupied with the thought of a particular blue eyed lady. What the fuck was she doing with a douchebag?? And who was the douchebag anyway? He closed his eyes and one particular picture came to his mind. It was the image where the guy hugged her tightly.
Alex felt blood rushed through his veins as he remembered the jerk's arms around her. He took out his phone and for a minute, he was tempted to call her. The urge to ask her who the guy was kept building up by the minute. And how was he going to explain why he was stalking her?? Besides, she didn't know he had her contact. Well, he was was the boss and the title of being his babysitter gave him access to things like that.
That moment, his phone beeped as he got notified of a text message.
" PRETTY SURPRISED YOU SURVIVED THE LITTLE GAME, HUH? "
Alex's blood boiled even more but for a different reason. The sender was probably not expecting a reply but Alex was no coward and he was going to do just that.
" ANTICIPATE MY OWN GAME, ASSHOLE " With that done, he tossed his phone on a couch nearby and made some calls to track the sender.

" The guy has got some nerves, I must say " A guy sitting at a table mused while stroking his beard. His fingers shook and he was a little bit scared of what was to come. His boos must not sense his fear else he was dead meat. He never expected a reply from Alex. A dry laughter was heard from behind him.
" He's called Alexander King for a reason " came a reply.
" Well well, what was his response? " It was a feminine voice this time.
" ANTICIPATE MY OWN GAME, ASSHOLE " The first guy read the text loudly enough for everyone to hear clearly.
" A little nice game wouldn't be so bad, would it? " The feminine voice said with a throaty laugh.
" Keep taunting him guys, keep sending the threats. He should flinch at one of those threats " She mused.
" Yes ma'am! " Came the chorus reply.
" And I think finding out his weakness will make him waver " The lady smirked and added " I'll crush you , Alexander " She said more to herself.
" Call me if you guys need anything " She said with a tone of finality and walked out majestically.

" Careful Liam, or you'll fall " Ava cautioned Liam in a light but firm tone. Little Liam nodded and went back to playing almost immediately.
Ava sighed , knowing she could watch over the boy so he wouldn't injure himself. She turned and found Alex standing with his hands shoved in his side pockets.
" Oh " She said, startled. They maintained eye contact for a minute before Liam sighted him.
" Uncle Alex! " He shouted in Glee.
Alex finally shifted his gaze to little Liam and flashed a smile at him.
" Hey little prince, how are you! " He asked and walked over to Liam. It was obvious that he genuinely cared for the kid. He picked Liam up and the little boy squealed, laughing. The two played together while Ava looked on with a soft smile. Anyone could mistake Liam for Alex's son without a doubting it for a second.
Alex met her gaze from across the room and Ava inhaled sharply. With the child in his arms, he somewhat looked like one of those models that she used to watch back then in her childhood days.
" Hi " She said quickly, erasing the thoughts from her mind as though she didn't want him to read her mind.
He nodded " Hey " His eyes swept over her body again and she felt hot from inside her body.
" Uh, I see you didn't go to work today " She commented in a bid to start a conversation.
" No " He replied plainly.
" Why? " She probed further, wanting to get him to talk.
" It's Saturday " He answered and threw her a look that said, ‘ Are you stupid? ’
" Hmmm " She nodded, humoring him and Alex knew better than to assume she was done questioning him.
