"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear mommy." I instantly fluttered my eyes open feeling so confused.
My phone kept buzzing off the hook, vibrating on the mattress but I decided to ignore it.
"Happy birthday mommy." My angels said in unison as they brought me a cup cake with a little candle. That's when it dawned onto me. Gosh it's my fucking birthday, boy do I feel old. I was so busy caught up in everything, i didn't even have time to think about it.
I was surprised when my two angels sat beside me on the bed, asking me to blow out the candle.
"Make a wish mommy." Ashley said and I blew out the candle with only one wish. God may I never be love's fool ever again.
"What did you wish for ?" Ashton asked curiously.
"Uhm i wished for a chocolate cupcake and here it is." I giddily smiled because God knows they made me really happy. I removed the candle and took a bite, showing them that I really loved the gesture.
"I wished for you and Daddy to be together." Ashley added and I stopped chewing or rather I almost threw up.
"Then we can be a normal family like other kids at school." Ashton muttered and my heart sinked.
"Uh have you guys had breakfast because it's almost seven and you need to be a school by eight." I jumped off the bed hoping they would forget about the previous conversation.
"But mommy it's your birthday." Ashton whined.
"Yes and it's a perfectly normal school day." I teased them, giving them the strict motherly look but I ended up laughing myself.
"Go get ready, i will be out in ten." I instructed them and they jumped off the bed like the good kids they are. They were my pride and joy, seeing them happy and healthy honestly made me happy.
My phone kept buzzing so I picked it up and it was my father. I instantly regretted not picking it up in the first place. "Twenty-nine years ago a beautiful little girl was born. I named her Raina because she honestly looked like Royalty. Happy Birthday Raina, your mother and I love you and you will always be our little girl."
"Thank you mom and dad." I snirveled, i felt like crying.
"We are proud of the woman you have become so don't ever doubt yourself." I heard my mother's voice. This was just what I needed to get me going.
"I love you both." I laughed whole-heartedly feeling happy and I haven't felt like this in a while.
"Have a good day honey." They said in unison before they hanged up. They were always the first to wish me a happy birthday, i guess this year the twins had beat them to it.
I opened my messages.
Happy birthday Sis. You are amazing and I've always looked up to you. Loads of love and have an epic one. x
I found myself smiling after reading my brother's message. I missed him so much and I hadn't seen him in a while. I hoped college was treating him well.
Go Shawty it's your birthday. I haven't forgotten babe happy womb escape day Queen. Sucks that I'm out of the state on your b day buhhhh I promise when I return. I will make it up to you.
Grayson was honestly so crazy and I appreciated him for remembering all the little stuff I told him. He had a good memory and he was the best listener.
I checked the rest of my messages they were from Facebook, obviously my co-workers and some people I went to college and high school with as well as close and distant relatives. There were multiple texts and missed calls from exactly 00: 07 am. I smiled broadly as I went to take a shower because I felt like my life was going in the right direction. My career, my kids, my friendship with Grayson and my family is all I will ever need.

After having breakfast with my babies and Maya wishing me a happy birthday showing me how the Mexican do it. I honestly felt adored but it was still a normal day. The world isn't going to stop because I was born. I dropped off my kids at school and I think Mr. Meyers has a crush on me. He claims Ashton is always in some sought of trouble just so I end up in his office listening to his disciplinary hearings. Today he specifically followed me to my car just to give me flowers for my birthday which I found a bit creepy but whatever maybe he is just being nice. He is just a primary school principal who is nice and cares about his learners and their parents.

Midday I was still working, this case honestly the biggest case I have ever dealt with. That's why I needed Richard's help, he has been in the industry for so many years.
"Ms Williams, a delivery for you." I sighed because this was the seventh delivery I had received. From teddy bears to coffee mugs, you name it.
"Just put it on the couch or whatever." I shrugged.
"But it's chocolate." She frowned.
"Just eat it." I bit on the bottom of my pen.
"But it's Belgium chocolate looks super expensive. It's from that guy Jake Rush." She said in awe reading the card.
"Jake Rush ?" I tried to remember but It didn't ring a bell.
"Jake Rush, he was your client. The guy who was being sued by his publishing company for copyright and whatever." She explained.
"Oh Jake Rush the writer." I let out a laugh.
"Don't be silly, he seemed nice and his book Not waving but drowning is one of a kind." She said proudly. Of course, I remembered Jake Rush, he was a sweet heart, who reminded me of Ed Sheeran because of his red hair.
"The teddy bear and the book 'Ten steps to becoming a Great Lawyer' is from Mr. Le roux." My heart instantly skipped a bit.
"Oh you mean Richard." I asked.
"Yes." She muttered and I sighed with relief because Goodness I didn't want anything from Angelo. He was always crazy about giving me gifts even if it wasn't my birthday. The last time I spent my birthday with him before I got pregnant, he took me to Venice. I just didn't want anything from him, nothing at all. I didn't want to cross any boundary that we have surpassed in the past. I realised Angelo was big on giving me gifts to ease his guilty conscience.

God knows I haven't been able to function properly since I woke up. It's her birthday and I have been trying to restrain myself from doing anything crazy like taking her to Venice or sending a hundred flowers to her office and making love to her until she can't stand. I mean sex, obviously. Just to have her moaning my name while I worship her body like the queen she is.
"Mr. Le roux are you okay because the scheduled meeting with the board members is about to start." My personal assistant snapped me out of dirty thoughts.
"Uh Seth, I'm okay don't worry about it." I ran my hand through my brunette locks. "Is the necklace ready ?" I questioned.
"Yep and I'm sure Ms. Yasmine will love it." Seth replied with a broad smile. God why was he always such a happy person ? I mean I could really use whatever he is using.
"I'm sure she will." i lied knowing this necklace was not meant for Yasmine.
"It will be delivered soon after your meeting and the deposit for will cost $2000 plus the diamonds-" i immediately cut him off.
"Whatever it costs Seth, money is the least of my worries..." I stood up grabbing my mac book going to the boardroom.
"Oh right Mr. Le Roux and Mr. Meyers called alerting me that Ashton was in trouble and might get suspended but Raina took care of it." Seth added trying to see if I would react aggressively.
"Was that today ?" I asked.
"Uh no it was a month ago but he specifically wanted to discuss this with the mother."
Here we go again, men trying all their luck to get to talk to Raina. He's a sick bastard, i knew it from the first parent-teacher conference, he had a thing for her and God knows she is so oblivious.
"Tell him the next time anything happens at school, he speaks to me and not Raina." I growled out of frustration.
"Right." He replied.
"That will be all now, do you mind briefing me on today's agenda as we go to the boardroom."
"Sure Sir so the finance team and-" I wasn't listening infact I wasn't even there.
