The sun begins to rise, sprinkling its rays on the horizon of the earth, Conan was already nearing Mace's kingdom and Asher was looking for methods to lie to Arcadia that the decree she gave him had been stolen.
He takes the medicine that his brother left behind for him and he empties it with one gulp. His gags at the horrible taste, it was even worse than the last one but he had a feeling he did that on purpose.
He just hoped he had reached his destination safely.
"Your majesty, the doctor is here to see you, may I let him in?" The soldier had his head to the ground while Mace sipped on red wine, he examined his cup before parting his lips to let words out,
"Let him come in." He gives the command and the soldier rushes to do it but he stops him mid track, "and also call Beta Loki for me, tell him to bring Orla with him." He finished and the soldier bows once more, somersaulting to do his biding.
Conan walks down the hallway before bowing slightly,
"You came so fast, I expected you to be here in at least three days but you came overnight." Mace was indeed pleased with him and Conan raised his head to reveal a small smile,
"I could never delay the call of my master, ruler of all the land." He pampers his ego and Mace is even happier now, Loki walks in not long and he pays his respects,
"I see you have come back to us, I bet you didn't find any place that treated you better?" Loki went on to embrace Conan, they were friends while he still worked with Mace,
"No place at all, but such is not the case, master called me to check someone.....he said something about a woman behaving as if she were a child." He explains to him and Loki is astonished,
"You never told me anything about this Mace, I'm grateful." His eye are soft and he turns to his back, "Orla, come out!" He knew he was hiding and at the sound of his voice, the gingle of bells could be heard and she slowly showed herself.
Conan eyed her like a dog, he had never seen such a beautiful woman, she didn't like the way he was looking at her so she ran to Loki for protection,
"This is Orla, do anything stupid and consider yourself dead." He warns with a smile before turning back to his friend, "don't worry, he's a good person." He attempts to calm her down but she was shivering so much, so Conan had to sharpen up,
"I will not do anything I promise, I could never touch what doesn't belong to me but I must ask, how is Beta Czar handling himself?" His question made a Shriek laughter erupt from Mace and Loki couldn't help the chuckle that escaped is mouth, "what? I'm serious, he should've pounced on her by now." He was saying the truth.
"I've made sure to keep an eye on him, he's currently crossed with me but I have to protect her, if he tries to intimidate you then tell me, I assure you I would put him in his place." He grabs her hand and moves her to Conan, he takes her hand and notices the softness of her skin.
"I would do my best, to be frank I have never dealt with a patient like her, are you sure it isn't magical?" He proposed, "it could be a witch?"
"I'm handling that already, but please do check if it is something that could be solved using medicine." Conan nods and he takes her to the examination room; his personal workspace in Mace's palace. Loki turns to his brother and Mace stops drinking his wine mid way, his eyes slightly bulged,
"Why are you looking at me that way?" He didn't understand the emotion in his brother's eyes,
"Thank you Mace, I never thought you would care so much about her." It came from the bottom of his heart.
"Well......she would be nicer when she's sane so yeah," he had the most lecherous grin on his face and all the fuzzy emotions Loki was feeling was washed down the drain, he felt disgusted but he hid it well.
"You're still helping so I must appreciate." He bows before taking his leave, he was only interested in her body but even after she was well, he wouldn't let her be used by them. She would only be with who she wants to be with and not the person she is at mercy at. It was his promise to her.
He shuts the door behind him and dumps his bag on the table, she hops on it and waits for him to conduct the examination, he checks her eyes and her pulse but everything about her seemed normal. Except for the way she was staring at him.
"Open your mouth." He orders her but she refuses to obey him,
"No." She is sharp with it and turns her gaze elsewhere, Conan wipes the annoyance off his face,
"Why won't you open your mouth for me? Aren't your teeth clean?" He pulls fun a her and laughed at his own joke but she found it very offensive so she gave him a nice kick in the shin, he winces at the pain, "immature much!" He scoffs at her but she is still defiant, "okay what do you want me to give you?" He had to remind himself that he is dealing with a child and not a mature woman.
She lights up at the thought of receiving a gift and she thinks long and hard for what she wanted,
"Food.....I'm..... hungry....." She pulls up her puppy eyes and he finds it hard to waist her brown orbs, he groans loudly and goes out of the room, she takes a long look around and eyes his bag, "what's.....in...." She grabs the hem of the leather and is peering the bag open. That was until he walked back into the room, closing the door behind him.
"Look what I have for you!!" He hands her the plate but her nose wrinkles at the sight of meat, she screams and throws the plate back at him, crying profusely after seeing the cooked meal,
"I hate it!! I hate it!!! Take it away!!! Loki!!" She didn't stop crying and her screams were deafening, they felt like they had been increased a thousand times, it was unnatural and he had to block his ears to make sure he doesn't go deaf.
"Okay fine!! Relax!!" He growls, she was very spoilt, and he was sure it was a result of Loki over pampering her, but what was so wrong in meat? Maybe she didn't like it. He leaves her in the room once more and she takes the opportunity to search his bag after wiping her tears away, she had caught a glimpse of something previously and it had sparked curiosity in her.
She needed to know what it was.
She empties the whole back to bring out the decree that Asher gave him, that was supposed to be stolen. Her eyes widen in disbelief,
"How on Earth did he get this?" She switches really fast and is no more acting like the child she claims to be, she opens it and reads it word for word, "Asher.....is this stolen? But how did he get it in the first place? How could Arcadia be so careless!!" Her brows crease in frustration and her fangs grew dangerously sharp, her eyes were flickering from the brown they were to the magenta they're meant to be.
She was angry and it was justified.
Conan came back with a bowl of fruits after Loki told her that she didn't like the smell of meat,
"Orla! I have something you might like!" He smiles as he waltzed in but Orla was gone, "Orla??" His eyes scan the surroundings but he couldn't see her. His confusion turned to shock when a hand grabbed his neck and a fan was held at his throat, "Orla?!" He didn't believe it was her.
"Who are you and why do you have my daughter's decree?"
