Liam wanted Clara to love him back; he enjoyed her company with him the day before he began thinking of what to do to make Clara like him back until he heard a knock on the door.
Eric walked in "what are you doing?" Eric asked walking closer to Liam
"As you can see I'm not doing anything, why did you ask?" Liam asked just to divert Eric's attention from his real thought
"If you say so ah Gabe went home he said he had something to do and he'd be back. That's all I have to go"
"Wait..." Liam said in a rush
"Is there anything you need?" Eric asked nonchalantly
"What can I do to make Clara love me back?"
Eric laughed historically
"Hey I'm still your Alpha"
"I never said you weren't who would have thought the cold and cruel Alpha Liam would become a love-sick teenager? What can I do for you?" Eric asked as if he didn't hear Liam's initial words
"Are you testing my patience?" Liam asked angrily
"Oh forgive me I forgot what you asked. You can always take her out to see the world. Besides, she's human and she would love to go out and see the world but take her to an amusement park. I'm sure she'd love it there. Besides, you can't keep her here for long she would think you saved her just to imprison her in your world" Eric said
"An amusement park huh ok so what can I do to make her feel she's not imprisoned?"
"That Alpha is up to you," Eric said and left Liam
Liam decided to go to Clara's room knocking on her door Clara was a bit frightened but then opened the door when she saw it was Liam she calmed down a bit.
"Good morning" she greeted Liam
"Morning." Liam found it hard to convey his thoughts to her "umm... I... Do you want to go out, like to an amusement park maybe?" Liam said stammering
"I'd love to, I'm actually getting kind of bored," Clara said and added, "Ah is Gabe coming too?" She asked
"No umm he left he had something to attend to," Liam said
"He left without saying goodbye," Clara said sadly
"He'd be back soon" Liam added to lighten Clara's mood
"Okay I'll get ready," Clara said and left to change her clothes after getting ready she came out Liam was already waiting for her
"Let's go," Liam said holding her hands they got into the car and drove off minutes later they got to the park.
"So what do you want to do?" Without saying a word she dragged Liam toward the roller coaster
"Wait a minute we're getting on that?" Liam asked
"Yeah come on," Clara said, dragging him they both got in. Liam was afraid to tell her he was afraid of heights and he hated not being in control as the ride started.
Clara kept screaming out loudly. She was really happy. It's been a while since anyone took her out for fun so she missed going out just to have fun. Meanwhile, Liam kept watching her, her smiles were genuine he kept watching her and he forgot about his insecurities. After the ride, Liam felt like throwing up.
"Are you okay?" Clara asked
"Yeah I'm fine," he said but his face betrayed his words
"Oh I know, I guess you're afraid of heights," Clara said mockingly
"No, I'm not," Liam said slightly embarrassed
"Yes you are, your face gave you away," Clara said laughing
"I'm fine, is there anything else you want to do?" Liam asked trying to avoid Clara's gaze
"I'm hungry," Clara said
"Hungry? Is there anything you want to eat in particular?" Liam asked
"Ummmm... Ice cream"
"Ice cream? Thought you said you were hungry"
"Yes but I want ice cream"
"Okay, anything you need. Let's go" Liam said
Holding her hands and heading to the ice cream stand
"You look good together, is he your boyfriend?" The ice cream seller asked Clara before she could give him a reply
"Yes she's my girlfriend," Liam said without considering Clara's feelings. After buying Clara a big bowl of ice cream they both headed towards the car there Clara glared at Liam
"What was that for?" Clara asked
"What? You needed ice cream and I got one for you"
"I meant you telling him I'm your girlfriend when I'm not"
"What difference does it make that's what the ice cream seller wanted to hear and that's what I said"
"You shouldn't have said that's... It's... You lied to that man"
"It doesn't matter if I told him we were dating or not he doesn't really know us does he?"
"Yeah but..." Clara stammered
"Are you ashamed of me? Am I so ugly, so disgusting to you?"
"No, but..."
"But what Clara, what?"
"Nothing I'm sorry I didn't mean to I just felt..."
"Can we go now?" Liam said in a cold voice. Clara was a bit startled at the way he acted but said nothing she slowly began to gulp down the ice cream in anger quietly the fact that Liam was giving her the silent treatment was killing her.
On their ride home both Clara and Liam were quiet all through the ride on getting back Eric was waiting for them
"Alpha" Eric greeted noticing the weird aura from his alpha and the facial expression of his mate
"Is all well?" He asked his Alpha Liam, through their mind link
"No nothing is okay I'll tell you what happened later" Liam replied
"Shall we go what's wrong with the pack while I was away?" Liam asked Clara to hear her walking away. Clara decided to head to her room quietly leaving the duo.
Eric decided to confront Liam
"What did you do?"
"Nothing I did nothing okay she's just too overbearing"
"Overbearing?" Eric asked confused as to what Clara could have done to seem that way
"Yes, overbearing, I mean how she could?"
"Can you please stop beating around the Bush and tell me what happened?" Eric said impatiently
"She's mad at me but it wasn't my fault okay"
"Then whose fault is it? I didn't go out with you both so who's fault is it if she's mad at you?" Eric asked glaring slightly at Liam
"Well actually she wanted ice cream and..."
"Wait, you are both arguing because of ice cream?" Eric asked surprised
"No, but the ice cream seller asked if I was her boyfriend and that we look good together"
"And how could both your moods be sullen?" Eric asked
"Well I said yes before she could answer and then when we got to the car she glared at me I asked her why she was glaring at me but then she flares up asking why I told the ice cream seller we were dating and then I said it doesn't matter if I told the ice cream seller I was her boyfriend or not that's what he wanted to hear. And then she was mad at me cause I lied to someone she never knew"
"It's still your fault you should have let her answer the question so you know what she thinks about you not jump into the flames when you are not needed" Eric flared at him
"Whatever Eric she's at fault not me I'm done taking her out maybe when Gabe returns he'd help me"
"You can't always rely on Gabe besides he is not someone from your pack whom you can order around" Eric noted and added
"Let's go there are a few things you need to take care of" walking ahead of Liam while the latter followed reluctantly
Clara's POV
'Ah I can't believe he got so mad simply because of that I mean I only asked why he said that and he got so mad' Clara thought pacing around the room
'I do love him but I'm scared that if I become his Luna what if I get hurt by one of his subordinates or his people all attack me cause I'm weak or better yet he gets hurt because of me' Clara thought then sat on a nearby chair
'What if I ask Gabe about it what would he say?' Getting up immediately Clara thought
'I can't stay here I have to move from his room before he comes down from his study
Her attention went back to the remaining ice cream which has already melted she was supposed to eat it with him she thought angrily she threw the rest in the dustbin and then moved out of his room
Liam's POV
As I walked into my study with Eric my thoughts got interrupted
''Cole?''
''Yes it's me how could you make her angry without apologizing to her she's not one of your useless pack members''
"My pack members are not useless Cole!!!" Liam said in anger
"Oh really they aren't well then stop making my mate angry or I might actually takeover"
"Oh, really how? You are nothing but a wolf, how do you intend on taking over huh?"
"But the fact remains she loves me better than she does you"
"That's not true I got the good looks. Why should she be in love with you and not me huh?"
"I might be a wolf but she loves me she's not scared of me like I'm the monster unlike she is you"
"She's not afraid of me okay and I'll prove it to you"
"All words" Cole said
Eric noticing his alpha was distracted decided to ask
"Are you okay or am I wasting my time explaining stuff to you, you know if you don't want to be a part of your pack's affairs you should let me know, or if you don't want to be Alpha anymore you can let someone else take your place?" Eric said angrily
"Hey remember you are speaking to your Alpha Eric"
"Yeah, yeah well get your act together I'm only advising you as a friend Alpha," Eric said mockingly. And the duo laughed heartily.
