Listening to everything Gabe said she broke down in tears on Gabe's shoulders. And this revelation made her feel somewhat guilty for judging Liam's intention toward her. She wasn't the unforgiving type, I guess it's because of what her family just did to her that made her feel everyone she cares about will eventually if not have betrayed her. So coupled with the thought that the person she was falling in love with isn't human is hard to take in, so she cried her eyes out until midnight when Gabe then gestured for her to go in to get some rest because it was really cold out there.
"Clara, it's getting pretty cold out here. Your body is cold, so go inside to rest." Gabe said after observing she was shivering due to the cold breeze.
"Okay Gabe, thank you"
"Don't stay mad at him okay? Give him time, Let him explain himself to you okay?"
"Okay thank you, goodnight Gabe"
"Goodnight Clara see you tomorrow"
"See ya"
With that said, Gabe left for his temporary room given to him by Eric while Clara heads back upstairs.
The door to the room opened slowly and Clara entered the room, she couldn't find anyone in the bed as she had hoped. She wanted to see Liam and maybe talk to him a little bit by thanking him for saving her life. But Liam wasn't in the room. He was in his study. He couldn't meet her gaze since she views him as a monster, so it is best if he stayed away.
Since it's midnight already today will be her 19th birthday but she was in no mood to talk about it, she is just grateful to her creator that she is still free and not a slave like her family had planned out for her. Since she was the only one in the room, she now has time to indulge in what was bothering her deep within.
'Are the coopers really my family? How could they proudly sell me off like that? It would make sense if I wasn't their daughter. But if I was, why would they be happy to sell me off like that to someone else all for their selfishness? Mom, why call her that? Anyways she isn't my mom I hate her now. Clarissa never for once treated me well, I thought maybe it's because I was the first daughter that's why they wanted me to be the best but now everything is clear, I was always the odd one out. The stupid one amongst them, the one who always does their bidding. I am more like a slave to them already.
No worries they've lost their daughter and I will never go back or forgive them for what they've done never. I will become someone great someday and when I do, they will regret everything that they have done.'
Today was Clara's birthday but she was far away from home, no one except Gabe knew about it and now wasn't the time to celebrate it, even if they knew, what can they do? Nothing, no matter how they love her they weren't family and it would never be the same way.
After thoughts like this with tears in her eyes, she drifted to sleep. The next morning Liam summoned up the courage to go to her, also it was his room. It was big enough for both of them. Sooner or later, they will have to see each other more often, because there is no way he would take her back to her house. So they need to learn to coexist there.
He went downstairs to the kitchen first, so he could bring her breakfast. She must be starving badly.
The maids who saw him in the kitchen were shocked to see Alpha Liam preparing a tray of breakfast himself so they were amazed when he took baked bread, a cup of milk, fried eggs, and some grilled chicken, everything edible that he could find in there.
On seeing this the maids knew those weren't for him, because he never takes fried eggs so who is this breakfast for they wonder. But that is all they can do, wonder.
After filling up the tray Liam raced upstairs after which he entered the room. Hoping to see Clara sleeping so she wakes her up and serves her breakfast in bed. But to his surprise, she wasn't on the bed. So he walked up to the little table and placed the tray of food. Then he scanned through and found out she was in the shower.
He was about to write something to attach to the tray of food but Clara walked out of the bathroom with a towel tied around her chest.
It made Liam and Cole his wolf somewhat hypnotized. They both couldn't control their feelings because they were aroused by the look before them.
Unknown to Clara her look was affecting two people, a wolf, and a human immeasurably. Liam's mind is going nuts just seeing her standing there. Half naked his lustful desires are really manifesting and if she doesn't leave any time soon to change he may not be able to control himself for much longer.
"Hey, you were in the um shower? I thought you were um..." Liam said as calmly as he could but his voice was betraying him
"Yeah I just needed to get my dress from the table over there," Clara said calmly, pointing to the little table beside a couch where the cloth she wore previously was placed there totally oblivious to what her looks were causing to the person in front of him.
"Oh um there is a cloth prepared for you in the um another part of the bathroom so um you can change into it"
"Okay, thanks what's that behind you?"
"Oh um it's breakfast for you," Liam said really trying his hardest not to pounce on her right there.
"Okay thanks, I was exactly starving"
"Yeah. um yeah sure"
"I'll go change, will be right back. Don't go anywhere"
"Okay um sure"
With that Clara went back into the bathroom and Liam took a deep breath to regain himself. Cole can be a handful whenever he sets eyes on Clara. So whenever Cole starts to behave that way it is Liam's responsibility to do everything in his power to calm him down. But seeing Clara like that was too much for them both. They were both out of control. Who would calm who? So Liam was out of his senses that was why he was stammering.
So he sat down on the balcony while waiting for Clara who gave him the order to wait.
Clara's POV
After waking up I was so hungry but before I go look for food, I need to wash up. I kind of feel sticky. And left the room to shower. After almost an hour of washing, I forgot I left my dress on the couch, so I headed back to the room, not expecting to see anyone there. I came out of the bathroom to see Liam standing close to the bed.
He looked so cute, I wish I could run up to hug him and say thanks for saving me. But I couldn't do that, because of our sour relationship. I just can't jump on him out of the ordinary so I was still thinking of what to say when he said
"Hey, you were in the um shower? I thought you were um..."
So to ease the anxiety I was feeling deep inside, I had to keep the conversation going by telling him the reason I came out of the shower. I guess he doesn't know how to respond because of the awkward conversation we had the last time he came over to my place. Then he told me some change of clothes are in the bathroom for me to change into very thoughtful of him to look out for me so dearly. I then began regretting how much I must have hurt him by the words I have said to him that day.
I am truly grateful for him coming to rescue me but now is not the time to tell him that. A more conducive atmosphere would do. That was when I sighted a tray behind him. He then moved aside and told me it was my breakfast. Well, my mouth is kind of watering seeing fried chicken and eggs.
So rather than go into the bathroom and come out without meeting him, I had to tell him to wait for me while I go change.
I guess I'm taking too long in the bathroom because I am literally starving. I can eat a whole goat if it was butchered and well-seasoned and the food on that tray could feed a whole army. Nice combo I better rush with dressing up before I faint due to lack of food.
Clara then wore a crop top and trousers with some fluffy slippers. And walked out of the bathroom and headed to the tray of food. She couldn't wait to stuff everything into her mouth and down to her stomach.

Clara beckoned on Liam to come to join him for breakfast.
"Liam come join me for breakfast"
"No don't worry, it's for you"
"I am not eating if you aren't eating"
"Come on Clara, you haven't eaten for a whole day"
"Then I will starve more if you don't join me"
"You are very stubborn"
"And so are you"
"Fine then I will eat a whole lot then you will wish you never called me to join you for breakfast because I won't take it easy on you"
So they both laughed and they began eating. It was a beautiful sight to behold. It was like a food competition to see who could eat the most.
Clara stuffed a whole chicken wing inside her mouth, it was hilarious to watch as she began chewing.
Liam took some baked bread and threw it into his mouth, not sure he chewed it enough cause in less than 2 minutes he had swallowed it down his throat and went for a cup of tea to go down with it.
They ate and ate until only fried eggs were left, so Liam said he was full while Clara was belching loudly not accepting defeat. On a normal day, Liam hates it when someone belches in front of him but seeing Clara do it funnily made him laugh uncontrollably.
"Hey, Liam, will you eat the eggs?"
"Nah I am full, you eat them you said they are your favorite"
"Yeah, so if I eat them that means you have been defeated"
"Yeah you win, so eat it"
"Okay then, but just take a little bite then"
"I am really full if I take one more bite I will throw up"
"Fine then if you say so"
Clara then forces the fried eggs into her mouth and munches after which she swallows and two minutes later she belched even louder, this made Liam laugh so loudly because he was sure she had overeaten.
After eating they both sat in complete silence, they both had no idea what to say to break the silence when a lot of words were bulging to come out. But no one wants to be the first to say a word.
Then after a whole hour of silence. Clara coughs and mutters some inaudible words.
Liam kind of heard something but he wasn't too sure if she had said something or if it was just his imagination. So to be sure he asked
"Clara, did you just say something?"
"Yeah I did"
"Oh, what was it you said?"
"I said, am sorry Liam, and thank you for rescuing me"
