The question came as a shock for Gideon. Precious just knew her father's name was Austin and she wanted to know more about the man who abandoned her even before she was born.
"Austin's a naval officer, he was older than your mother with five years." Gideon said.
"I don't know much about him but when I asked him then, he only told me that." Gideon added.
"His father was a high ranking officer and he was sent to the Naval academy to follow in his father's footsteps." He spoke after some seconds.
"What was he like then, was he nice? How was he then? did he like my mother?" Precious asked. She wanted to know if the relationship was a one sided relationship or a relationship that had love.
"Austin was nice, he usually gave me money and bought me chocolates. He takes us out most of the time. I don't know if he really liked her because I was so young to know what love was about; but whenever they fought or argued, he'd always apologise." Gideon said. He wasn't always with them so he couldn't really tell much.
Precious kept quiet for a while, she wanted to hear more from her mother, know what her mother thought but she knew her mother wouldn't give her much details.
"Did my mother tell him she was pregnant?" Precious asked. She was really curious about so many things.
"I don't know about that but three days after sis Grace was chased out of home; He came looking for her but my Father wouldn't give him the chance to speak as he chased him away."
"I thought that maybe he came to meet my both parents with a proposal of marriage so we could go look for sis Grace but after that day, I didn't see him and Trisha started giving me cold shoulders." He had a pained facial expression on and those memories must have been a painful one, reason why Grace never told Precious.
"Come on, it's getting late, let's head home now." Gideon said. He stood up and stretched his hands to Precious.
While walking to his car, Precious phone fell, she bent down to pick it and the next thing she knew, she saw a car coming towards her.
Three hours later.
The doctor came and announced to the precious uncle and the man who hit her that she was awake.
The man who had hit her had a woman and a little girl in his car, he wasn't looking, he was driving and talking to the woman beside him before he knew someone was there bending down to get something, the deed had been done.
He had told the woman and the little girl to go home while he rushed the girl to the hospital.
"Uncle Gideon!" Precious spoke as soon as she saw her uncle seated on a chair beside the bed.
"Thank goodness you were not really hurt." Gideon spoke while touching Precious' face with his palm.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hit you and thank God you are safe." The man spoke and left to pay the bills after confirming she had fainted from shock.
"Did you call my mom?" Precious asked.
"No, if she knew, she'd freak out." Gideon said.
"And besides it's already late, she can't come all the way from lekki to Apapa." He added.
They finally reached Ikoyi after going through so much heavy traffic.
As soon as Previous laid on her bed, the thought of what her mother went through at eighteen terrified her. What if she had aborted me? Precious thought.
She was glad her mother didn't abort or abandon her, the thought made her cry herself to sleep.
Precious smiled as her uncle dropped her at school, she missed school but most especially Bethel.
Precious eyes roamed the hallway when she entered the school building looking for Bethel.
Bethel saw Precious from afar, he smiled, she was back and he couldn't wait to wrap his arms around her.
He hid himself in the janitors closet with the thought that he'd pull her in.
Suddenly a hand engulfed Precious from behind, as soon as the door locked, two pairs of lips claimed hers.
She would have pushed the person away if she hadn't recognised the scent and the taste of the lip.
She wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him closer to her.
Soon he seeked entrance which she gave him, the kiss passed their heart messages and how much they missed each other.
After a while, Bethel rested his forehead on Precious taking a deep breath.
"I miss you so much. Where were you? Do you know how not bothered i was?" He questioned and before Precious could reply, he kissed her again.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Both Precious and Bethel turned to look at who it was.
It was Beauty and she had not the very best look on her face.
