I held Katherine’s hands and looked up in her face with a smirk, she had been singing all this while and truly she lacks emotions in her music, she was just a robot when she sings, she has a nice voice, but her music would never touch any soul, Hinn Carlos was wrong, Katherine was only good in dancing, not music.
“Have you sold your emotions and feelings?” I asked her and she glared at me. “You just can’t sing, there is no meaning in your lyrics and I feel like I am wasting my time here.” I left her hands and turn to go take my bag so I can leave this place,
Katherine rushed over to my front and looked at my face. “I can try, that is the reason you are here to teach me.” She gazed into my eyes with pleading eyes.
“Go and love first, you have a good voice, but you lack this,” I pointed at her chest. “You don’t know the reason or the message you pass to your listeners, you are just like a doll.” Katherine furrowed her brow, she must be offended by the last words I said, but who cares, she was what I said.
I brushed past her and hung my bag over my shoulder walking over to the door I halted when I caught a glimpse of Ivana running off. Why was she here, was she eavesdropping on us before now, she was stupid anyway.
“Then teach me how to love!” Katherine called out.
I chuckled as I turned to look at her. “You make me laugh Katherine.” I ponder between Katherine and Ivana who was more stupid. Does this lady in front of me think that love is some kind of lesson or what?
“I am serious.” Katherine walked over to me. “Love me and make me your girlfriend.” She stared into my eyes and I could see my figure in her eyeballs.
I pinched the space between my brows, Katherine reminds me of the lady I met in the States, they were quite alike, the lady in the state bugged my life by asking me to tutor her and in the end, she confessed her feelings to me as rigid as Katherine is doing now, but the difference was, the other lady has emotions and was sincere, but Katherine is trying to test my patience.
I scoffed. “You are asking for too much Katherine, I can only teach you to sing which you already know, but loving and making you my girlfriend,” I paused and my lips turned up as I laughed sarcastically. “It is not going to happen.”
“Why not?” Katherine asked in anger. “Do you have eyes for someone else?” I scoffed at her question, love is for weak people. “Who is she?” Katherine pressed on. “Do I know her?” She shouted when I kept silent.
I closed and opened my eyes, ladies are noisy. “Katherine, rather than asking these useless questions, you should focus more on practising and do as I said.” I turned to leave the practice room, before shutting the door behind me I heard Katherine’s last words.
“You would regret rejecting me like this!”
I shook my head, she was so full of herself and today is just the first day I tried to teach her and she was already making her moves. I better stay away from the girls in this school, they could all be a nuisance, but before then there is one lady who needs scolding.
I got home and saw Ivana in a pink mini skirt and a white off-shoulder top walking upstairs, her hair jiggle in every step she takes, she seems to feel like a princess right now and she was holding one of the yoghurts I told her not to touch, she was daring me I guess.
“Hey!” I called out and she halted when she had gotten upstairs.
“Yes, welcome.” She turned around with a smile and I noticed she had almost consumed the yoghurt, I didn’t want to go yelling at her like some crazy person, I was so pissed I might hit her if I go on with this, I tried to calm my anger, but should I say, I’m not good at doing that.
“You!” I stomped over to her. “What you said at the cafeteria today was true, or are you just saying that because I was there?” I raised my eyebrows waiting for her response.
She looked at my face and her pupils enlarged, she looked away from me immediately. “I don’t know what you are talking about.” Her lips moved sternly and her eyelashes fluttered. She must be kidding me.
“You don’t know?” I asked as I took a step close to her and she stepped backwards at every step I took, her eyes watching my feet, her brows tight, her lips tightened and her eyes were wide.
I smirked. “Let me remind you then… Hinn or my music, which one do you think is better?” I raised my brows waiting for her response, I had kept quiet because Hinn was there and I didn’t want to make a scene.
“Hinn.” She said out loud as she glanced over her shoulder when there was no space behind her to step back to and I was close to her right now.
“Mine was better.” I corrected her and gazed into her eyes, she looked away from me immediately, her eyes flickered to the stairs, perhaps she was looking for someone who would rescue her from me but my mother wasn’t at home, she wasn’t back yet, which means I was alone with this stupid lady who tells lies.
“I saw you take the video from Clara that day I performed at the daily bar.” I had watched Clara take a video as I performed and I saw Ivana pleading to Clara to share the Video with her, it didn’t get past my eyes, so this means she was lying and dares to lie to my face.
“You saw that?” Ivana pupils dilated. I nod as I smirked, she didn’t expect me to see that did she? She swallowed hard before her lips parted to speak. “I took that for my friend Kate…”
“Lies,” I cut her off coldly and my eyes darkened. I stepped close to her and we were damn too close now and no room for escape for her. “You haven’t taken any for your friend before, why that day and why mine?” I tilt my head to get a better look at her shocked face.
She closed her eyes momentarily and opened them again. “There is nothing I will say to make you accept what I said, so why should I bother explaining to you.”
I scoffed, she was quite bold. “I guess I would have to show you that I am better than Hinn Carlos.” I held her hands and dragged her into my room as she protested. “Come here.” I pulled her in and shut my room door.
“What are you doing?” She shouted, but the shock on her face was obvious.
I left her hand and picked up my guitar. “Sit down,” I ordered her.
“And why should I?” She glared up at me with a clenched fist and tight jaws.
“I am not asking you to, I am telling you, now sit down!” immediately she sat down, folding her hands across her chest. “Look at me and don't take your eyes off me,” I smirked when she did as I said. “Now listen.”
I sat down on my desk and held my guitar, my eyes were on her to make sure she did as I told her and she wasn’t only staring at me, she was glaring at me the reaction I was expecting.
I began playing a very long round of sounds and melody. I watched her lips move followed by rolling her eyes. It was obvious she muttered something and I can tell it wasn’t good, she was good at cursing, it must be something like that, but she still has her eyes on me that was all that matters.
I hit the string one more time and leaned to my guitar. “Now tell me.” I narrowed my eyes with a smirk.
She rolled her eyes. “You have already proved your point.” She got up from the chair she sat in. “Hinn Carlos still plays better than you.”
I ran my hand through my hair, my lips twitched as I placed my guitar on the guitar stand and made my way over to her, this time she didn’t move back. She was already conscious that she was in my room and the only way to get out was through the door but I would get to her first before she tried to flee.
“So, you are saying Hinn Carlos plays better than I do?” She nods, raising her chin and her brow tighten. She was one hell of a lady. “What a waste of my time.” I signed and walked back to my guitar, picking up my guitar I turned to her.
“Anyway, I told you I want to hear you play the guitar.” I took her hand, making her hold onto the guitar. “Now play,” I ordered her.
She looked down on the guitar and for a moment I could feel the joy she felt just by holding it, her eyes scanned it as she had always wanted to touch it, her lips seem to part and her eyelashes fluttered, I could hear her heartbeat and a smile escaped my lips, she made me realize something, she loves music, she also loves my guitar, I had seen her stare at my hands while I play, she must love the way I play too.
“No!” She shouted, pulling me out of my thoughts, she looked up at me with a fierce gaze. “I don’t want to.”
I frowned, what was wrong with this girl, after the expression she had on her face just now, here she was saying nonsense.
I chuckled. “Why?” I asked sarcastically. “You can’t play?” My lips twitched, I was trying to offend her for her to play but she seems to understand I was making her angry on purpose.
She put down my guitar. “I don’t want to play. I will only play the guitar whenever I feel like playing, not for you who would only mock me at the end.” She stomped her foot and walked out of the door.
I didn’t go after her, I have been entertained enough, I only chuckled and mouthed her words, she was a psycho and a sweet one at that. I picked up my guitar, sat on my bed and played happy music with smiles on my lips.
She is cute!
