I thought after Robin came back for me last night the next day would be different, it was like the normal day, I got kicked out of the car when we got few blocks away from the mansion and I had to go to school panting and sweating because I almost missed the bus and my face had been marked by that driver.
Thankfully, Kate was in school that day so I didn’t have to think about that rude Jerk, the morning classes were over and I walked out of the class with Kate next to me just at that moment we saw some students rushing over towards the school announcement board.
Kate pulled me along in that direction and it was crowded, we had to clear our path to see what was written, I was about to read it when I heard Kate call out in joyful glee.
“It is finally out!” Kate rejoiced and I looked at her puzzled.
“Audition for what?” I could read about the audition coming out in a few weeks but since I was new to this school I didn’t understand.
“It is for the school's 100th anniversary,” Kate told me and I could also see similar students like Kate, feeling happy and chit chatting about it.
“I am hearing about this for the first time,” I told Kate honestly, while in the Villa, I hardly watched or listened to the radio and we had no home. Kate was the one who filled me up on some things.
“It is fun in this school,” Kate responded and I could already tell by the joy I saw in her eyes.
“You would join the audition right?”
“Yes, why not, you should join too.” Kate looked at me seriously and I shook my head.
“No, I will pass.” I smiled at her. “You know I am not good at singing.” I walked out of the crowd and Kate followed me. I have only chosen this path because of Hinn Carlos. I have not even tried singing before.
“Are you sure?” Kate looked at my face, raising her brow slightly. “Your dream is to stand on stage, this is part of the way to reach that dream.” Kate pointed towards the direction of the signpost. “And you would be cheered on.” She added convincingly.
I stared at the signpost for a long time contemplating the words Kate had told me, I looked at her and smiled. “Then I am in.”
“That’s my girl!” Kate made a happy fist and jumped over me in joyful glee.
“But, I still have to think about it,” I added and Kate stopped smiling instantly.
“There is nothing there to think about, we just have to add our name to the audition list and practice hard, after performing we have to wait for the judge's final decisions,” Kate told me in a single breath.
“It is easy for you to say.” I have heard a lot of people having an emotional breakdown after getting their hopes up.
“Come, let’s go,” Kate held my hands and pulled me with her. “After this, we would be part of the team.” As Kate pulled me with her I tried to think of something I would come up with in two weeks, something that would make sense and get me and Kate accepted.
“Hey,” I heard a deep voice behind me and it snapped me off my thoughts. I turned around to see who it was and there was my prince charming. I was speechless until Kate spoke first.
“Hinn Carlos,” Kate called his name in a whisper.
“Hi,” Hinn glanced at her and turned his eyes to me again. “You were the girl I bumped into the other day right?” He said it out loud in a caring way but I wished he had forgotten about that incident since it makes me embarrassed.
“Yes,” I tried to sound sweet. “I told you I was okay.” I looked at him and blinked a few times. I heard that guys find a girl who blinks cute. I also put a smile on my face. I could feel Kate's eyes on me and I knew the thoughts she had in that nasty head of hers.
“Okay, I am Hinn Carlos, you?” I wanted to gasp right now, he was introducing himself to me and asking for my name. This was so unbelievable. I have always admired Hinn Carlos but never in my life have I dreamt of speaking to him or introducing myself to him, it was only my imagination.
“Ivana Kimbuersy,” I responded, keeping my excitement in a low key.
He smiles charmingly like he always does and I felt enchanted. “ Umm… I saw you look interested in that.” He pointed in the direction of the signpost and I wondered how long he had watched me and Kate. “Do you want me to teach you more about music, you could win… I want you to join the team.”
I blinked countless times and could not believe I was having this conversation with Hinn Carlos, but something didn’t feel right about all these, my heart didn’t leap for joy and I could see Kate staring at me with the same puzzled look I have.
“What do you think?” Hinn Carlos asked again and I leaned close to Kate and whispered something to her ear.
“I’m I the only one who thinks he is weird?” I lean back and wait for Late reply and she shakes her head. Obviously, she also finds him weird. We should be the ones begging him to teach us, not the other way round.
I turn my eyes to look at Hinn who seems to be waiting eagerly for my response. “Well- I will have to think about it…”
“Think about it?” Hinn cut me off, I flinched at his sudden outburst and I could see his eyes shrunk and his smiles disappeared from his lips. “What happened to me?” He heaved a sigh. “Okay, you have my contact call me when you are done with your thoughts.”
“Okay…Sure.” I chose my words and turned to leave immediately.
“Ivana!” I stopped when Hinn called out my name and I looked over my shoulder to see him staring intensely at me. “When would you stop thinking about it? I need to get your feedback.”
He was damn so persistent. “Soon, I will let you know, bye for now.” I pulled Kate with me and hurried away. Now I was confused about Hinn. It all reminds me of the way he was peering at the dancing Katherine. I couldn’t help but wonder if he was that kind of guy and it gives me a creepy feeling.
