Pamela went along in Alice's car. While Lucas drove in his with two of the kids while Alice was with the other two and Pamela by the copilot seat.
"You're having a crush on him, right?" Pamela asked and glanced at Alice. She had seen enough to know that she had something in her heart for him.
Alice sighed softly but said nothing. She's his ex and she doesn't know how she would feel if she discovered that she has something for him.
"Why are you trying to hide your feelings from him? I don't believe in love anymore. But that's peculiar to me. For those who experienced it, it's a beautiful feeling" Pamela added.
"I don't know how you will feel.." she trailed off. She couldn't bring herself to complete the sentence. What if she gets offended or jealous?
"How will I feel besides being excited? Lucas was my fiancé at the time but became my brother-in-law. Emma seduced you and got pregnant with another man's child but pinned it on Lucas.
He Married her because he doesn't want to run away from his responsibility like he supposedly thought. But his wife was a she-devil and she ruined him.
I wouldn't want him to suffer hurt with another woman like Emma. But besides the fact that we had a past, he is a great guy, I swear he is a nice dude" Pamela explained.
So that's it. Pamela's sister seduced him. He married her to take up his responsibility. Not knowing that he wasn't her child's father.
Lucas didn't tell her so. He only said he cheated on her with her sister. Men who take up their responsibility are real men. And she has counted Lucas as one of such men.
"What if he doesn't love me?" Alice asked. Not turning to glance at Pamela. What mattered most is the fact that he loves her. She wants someone who will love her.
"He would love you if you told him that you love him. Naturally, if someone realizes that you like them, they start liking and loving you back. It's the same way here. Let him know about your feelings for him" Pamela concluded.
They arrived at Lucas' house. He drove to the parking lot and stopped. He looked at the sky, there's going to be a storm.
He let the kids out and they went towards the house. Wow, the kids exclaimed. Uncle Lucas' house is as big as their daddy's house.
Lucas lifted Dora unto his arms and held David's hand. Dora remembered her dad. He also often carries her that way. But after that day that he treated her like filth, she hadn't seen him again.
Her mommy has not really been happy after that day. Did anything happen to her daddy? Where is he now?
Alice and Pamela stepped out. She glanced towards Lucas and their eyes met. Each looked away quickly,
The kids got in and Lucas turned on a kiddies movie channel for them, he got Pamela into his study and went to join Alice in the kitchen.
He rolled his long sleeve up to the elbow and stood by her side. Alice felt her belly sweet so he came to join her.
"I'll chop the vegetables and onions" he said taking a chopping board and glanced at Alice to give him the quantity she needed him to chop.
But he caught her staring at him calmly. She became shy and mumbled "sure" she got a handful of vegetables and a few onions "there you go"
Lucas nodded and started by peeling off the back wraps on the onion. He doesn't know if what those kids said was making him realise how attractive Alice was, but he definitely doesn't want to think about her.
She's Pamela's sister, at least that's what they called themselves now. Emma is her sister or to be honest , her cousin. Besides, he cannot be thinking about any woman until he's certain she's in love with him.
"Did you learn to cook from your Mom?" Alice initiated a conversation. She didn't want the atmosphere to be stiff, so she had to create a room for them to chat.
"Yes, Mom cooks a lot. I usually stayed by her when I was younger until the age of adolescence. But after boarding school and the University program, I didn't get to be by her side cooking along with her, '' Lucas explained and chuckled.
"She's still alive?" She asked , glanced at him and he did the same and smiled.
"Yes. But dad is late. He died from cardiac arrest" Lucas replied.
"Sorry about your dad. But do you get along with your Mom?" Alice asked again. She gave him a bowl and he poured the chopped onion into it.
"Not so well. She married Dad's friend and I was mad at her for it. We get along now, though but it's a story for another day" he responded, picking another onion and peeling the wraps off.
After a long time, Alice asked another question "If she gives you a chance, would you like to be Pamela's fiance again?"
Lucas paused for a while and said "No, I won't" he replied and started chopping the onion carefully.
Alice turned and glared at him in shock. But he shows love to her. Why wouldn't he want to accept the opportunity if it ever stares at him in the face.
"Why not, don't you still love her?" Alice asked.
"I do care about her a lot. But I don't want to call it love. I can't take it when I call it love. I'll just say I have a strong bond of friendship with her. She did care about me too. It's a mutual feeling of friendship" Lucas said, paused and glanced at her briefly.
Though within himself, he knows he still loves her a lot. But he cannot be with her and he would never be.
"Though I feel battered that I couldn't be with her as her husband. But somewhere in my heart, I'm glad that I wasn't. I'm glad she didn't end up with a man like me" Lucas declared, flippantly.
He took another onion again, the last one for the meal. He started peeling off the outer wraps when Alice asked "Kindly explain why"
Lucas waited for a while and sighed. It's better he says it. Perhaps it would make her look elsewhere in case she has a crush on him.
"I said so because Pamela is a mother now and also expecting another baby. Isn't it amazing that she has a child of her own, whether Louis Hayden is here or not?
If she were with me, it wouldn't have happened. I cannot make babies, I am not a complete man and she needed someone who is complete and perfect like Louis. At least, she deserved the best of men" Lucas explained, he sighed softly and completed the chopping of the onions.
Alice turned and glanced at him sharply. Her eyes welled up with tears. Is that why he had stayed away from women after he got divorced?
"You are impotent?" Alice asked, suspending what she's doing and turned fully to glare at him.
"No, I'm not. I'm only sterile. I do make love and even cum. But my semen doesn't have sperm in it. It's just watery. My ex wife mocked me when she brought her son's father home to our matrimonial bed.
