Miranda's eyes were moist. She hugged Louis. Yes, only she loves him the most. "I'll be right back" she declared and kissed his chin before dashing upstairs.
Ellis eventually returned to the office. He saw Leah standing, her eyes red and puffy. She saw her husband and rushed quickly to him.
"Ellis, how is Louis? He hadn't gone crazy right? Where is he now? Is he fine or in the hospital? Which hospital did you take him to?
I called you several times but you wouldn't answer your phone. Where is our son? What has happened to him? Can I see him…" Leah was asking question upon question when Ellis interrupted her.
"Calm down, Leah," Ellis said, placing his hands on her shoulders and giving her a soft massage.
"I am calm, Ellis. I just want to know if Louis is alright now?" She asked again, raising her chin and glancing up at her husband.
"Louis is fine. But who told you about him?" Ellis asked, squinting. Not him and definitely not Romeo because the latter is unhappy with what she did, hiring Miranda to stand in the way between Louis and Pamela.
"Miranda did. I went to see her earlier today and she threatened to make Louis go crazy if I tried to stand in the way of her love for Louis like I did ...."Leah trailed off.
Like she did to Pamela, she completed it in her heart. She looked away, not able to look at Ellis' eyes.
"She called me and said what happened to Louis today was a tip of the iceberg. I was scared. That woman has taken over Louis' heart, mind and possesses his ability to reason alright by her schemes…" Leah was saying agitatedly when Ellis asked "who sold Louis off to her?"
Leah suddenly lost interest in talking. Since the moment she walked into the office, she'd just realised that her feet were sore. She sank into the sofa.
"You are the one who threw your son into a lion's den. Now, he's been devoured and you are complaining, fidgeting and going restless.
Why didn't you think about this before you did the hell of a deal with that ambitious woman? Our son is at her mercy. She would ride him however she wants and there's nothing you or anyone else can do about it.
Louis' indeed behaved like a Maniac. But I didn't know Miranda Alvan did it. I never knew. It only means, Louis is a puppet in her hands.
This is the point you have driven your son. Your only child, Leah. This is where you place me, between the rock and a hard place. This is where we are now" Ellis growled at her.
In Middletown City, after two days, Clarion received another invitation to come to the King's chambers. The sweet incense was giving off a sweet scent.
She simply told the servant to keep it on her writing desk. Once the servant had gone, she stood up and shut the door, bolting it hard from within.
What is Tarvan thinking, that she would come running to his chambers for whatever reason? He must be dreaming.
What matters to her at the moment is being with her granddaughter Pamela. It's time she had someone by her side. Living without a relative is not good enough.
Tarvan waited the entire night and didn't see Clarion. She was being deliberate. She dares to go against his orders, simply because she's the queen?
Next morning, Clarion was barely awake when there was a huge knock on her door. She stood up groggily and went to the door.
She opened it and saw Tarvan standing by the doorway. She ignored him and went back inside her chambers, went to the washroom, relieved herself and returned.
When she returned she saw Tarvan was now inside her chambers and the door was shut. She completely ignored him, and went to sit before the mirror.
"Weren't you told that I wanted you in my chambers last night?" He asked, he hadn't really seen her after the day at the royal court.
"Yes, is there a problem?" Clarion snapped at him. So what? Inviting her meant she should come running to his chambers, for what?
"And you declined?" Tarvan asked.
"Yes, I did," Clarion replied.
"That makes it the second time you declined the invitation to the royal chambers?" Tarvan seethed.
"So, what about that?" Clarion declared.
"Do you know you deserved to be punished?" Tarvan demanded.
"You can do nothing, Tarvan, you can do anything" Clarion dared him.
"Watch your words, Clarion. I am not the man you married, I am your King. And I can punish you like I do to the least of the citizens and employees of this palace" Tarvan warned.
Clarion stood up and snapped at him "it's obvious Tarvan, you are not the man I have lived with more than half of my life. You are a different man, a senseless gullible man who act without thinking"
"How dare you, Clarion!" Tarvan thundered.
"How dare what? Don't yell in my room. If you want to bark, go out there and do it before those that can be scared by it. It doesn't mean anything to me but a disturbance to my peace" Clarion.
"You are being deliberate, you don't want to fulfil your conjugal right. You think it is the only way to pay me back for hurting you, right?" Tarvan queried.
Clarion chuckled softly. She deliberately allowed her smile to linger longer than normal, making Tarvan feel hurt.
"What conjugal right are you talking about, Tarvan? How many conjugal rights do you want to have in this life? My tenure has expired. Make do with the young women you have.
Besides, I'm tired. I don't feel like it anymore. You have other women, relax with them. Some are quiet when you take them, but a certain one screams in pleasure, her moans resounding in the entire palace.
What else do you want with me? Just let me be" Clarion declared and stood up to go when Tarvan gripped her by her upper arm and glared at her.
"It doesn't concern you!" He growled.
