For someone like Jafar to be up this early, was so surprising to Sadiq. Sadiq has always known him to be a lover of sleep and no one can compete with Jafar in that aspect.
Sadiq was sat on the bed looking at how his friend ran from one angle to the other in the room . He wonders what could have make his friend woke up this early and he is damn sure that it isn't because of work. If it was work, he would have waken up around 7 o'clock
but this was different.
When they both got back from fajr prayer , Jafar didn't go back to bed as he always does, instead he use the time to prepare some clothes like someone who was going for an occasion.
" I hope all is well? "asked sadiq
Jafar turn to look at him with a small smile " of course all is well, why did you ask? "
" this new behavior of yours is making me scared. I mean, I have never seen a day you don't go back to bed after fajr prayer. Why is today different? "
The said man, snorts" don't be too dramatic man, I have a meeting with someone that's all "
Sadiq wiggling his brows " does this meeting has to do with your boss lady? "
Jafar shot sadiq a look " just because I said I have a meeting with someone doesn't mean it has to do with my boss" he scoff
" then who is this lady?" sadiq smirk
" come on man!, I never mentioned it to be a lady. How did you know? "
" ha!,so I was right after all? It's a lady then. Who is she? " sadiq wiggle his brow
Jafar kept the Shoe he was cleaning one side and turn to reply sadiq " you just won't let me be. Can't I have a meeting with anybody ? Must it always be a lady? "
" just say who she is already"
Jafar blew out a breath " fine, it's Kamila ,my sister "
" what?!!....i thought you said she was out of the country? How comes she is in Nigeria " a surprise sadiq asked
" well, that was the lies my father wanted me to believe. I thought I told you?"
Sadiq shook his head " no, you didn't "
" oh, I thought I did. Well, I saw her on Monday at a hotel and planned to meet today. " he explained
With furrowed brows Sadiq asked " but what was she doing at a hotel?, isn't she too young for that place?"
" thank you!,my guess also. " jafar sighed exasperatedly " I was also surprised too and do you know the funny part? When our gaze met, she quickly told the guy she came with to zoom off immediately. I couldn't see his face. I had expected her to at least come over to greet me but she didn't. " he looked annoyed
" why would she do that?" sadiq wonders
Jafar tap his foot on the floor worried. The more he thought about it the more it makes him angry
" I even called her to ask why she ran off like that and she gave some silly excuse that made me more angry. To think that the sister that I trust so much is now lying to me? I don't like what she has turn herself into and she wasn't like that before "
Sadiq allowed him to vent his inner feeling. He always knew how Jafar was close to Kamila . This situation made him remember his own sister, badiyya. He miss her so much.
" Stop thinking of the worst jafar, you might be surprised that it isn't how you put it to be. Maybe she was right after all, maybe she escorted her friend as she has said. Always think positively " advice sadiq
Jafar snort " I wish I could believe you but from what I saw that day, I know my suspicion is right. It is better I prepare for the worst. The way she even dressed that day already says it all "
" hmm, but still I will advice you to take it easy on her when you meet, please "
" I have heard you"
" Before I forget, what about work? Won't you be at the office today? " asked sadiq
Jafar wave it off " I took permission to be given the whole of today " sadiq nodded in understanding .
" and you? aren't you suppose to be preparing for work already as it's your first day? " asked jafar with a brow raised
" yeah, I will go in now to take a shower " sadiq pointed at the bathroom

" you stupid fool, how can you forget to set a meeting with our clients today. I don't know what is wrong with your head. " Rahama yelled at her secretary who was shaking in fear.
It was as if she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. It all started when she woke up this morning and didn't receive any text from a particular someone. Her head was on fire since then. She kept venting her anger on all her employees.
Already, they were used to this side of hers but what got them surprise is that, today's behavior is worst than the rest of the days. She was acting like an angry lioness
She glares at her secretary " GET OUT " she roared. The secretary needn't to be told twice before she ran out of the office. More like fly out of the office.
" annoying set of people. They would give me a heart attack one day. Stupid low lifes" she kept muttering hateful words.
She checked her phone again if a text had come in. It was still the same. No text. She dropped her phone angrily on the table, fuming in annoyance.
Why hasn't he texted or even called?
She has two principles when it comes to relationships , one is that, she doesn't call the guy first and the other she doesn't text him first . She believes that it was the guy that need to do all this things . But at this junction, she was already having second thought on whether to text him or call him.
Should I or not? But everything was OK, then why hasn't he called yet? .
She gave up and type a text on her phone. She waited a minute before she finally send the text.
The text was a simple 'hello'
She waited looking at her screen hoping to see his reply. A minute passed, another did, till it turn to 30 minutes, there still was no reply from him. She fling her phone on the couch beside her. How dare him delay my message?.
Or is he with another woman? No ,no, he dare not be with any other. She remembered that he said he wasn't a fan of extra marital affairs . He wouldn't do such thing, she thought.
But still ,he should have at least text me
She groan and got up her seat. She decide to get a coffee at the cafeteria section of the company.
As she got out of the office, no one dares to cross her part. The gossipers of the company wouldn't let this pass, they kept passing comment among themselves not knowing that Rahama heard them. Few of the comments passed were_
' maybe he didn't text'
' or he didn't bring flowers'
' maybe he broke up with her'
'why wouldn't he, when she is wicked'
The last comment got her body boiling in anger to which she stopped on her track. She wouldn't have cared if the last comment wasn't said. She turn to the three ladies, the glare she shot their ways could make a person piss his pant.
" who dare passed the last comment? " her tigeress self had woken up. They all point a finger at one another in fear
" I said... Who dare passed the last comment ?" she asked again through gritted teeth
" its her " two of the ladies pointed at the culprit
Rahama walk forward intimidatingly. She was now filled with anger. She came face to face with the said lady.
" how dare you say something like that? How dare you ?"she yelled
The said lady was busy shaking in fear " I'm sorry ma. Please forgive me"
This got her body boiling in more anger instead . She grab the lady by her shirt and start to slap her repeatedly. " What gave you the right that you can talk about me like that? You said I was wicked right? then, I will show you wickedness. "
The slapping never seems to stop and no one dares to interfere.It they do, they might lose their job.
The annoying part is that Alhaji Dabo isn't around. If Alhaji was to be around, he wouldn't have let this happen,he left some hours ago . He cares for his employees so much that he will do anything to make them happy. He has this believe that when their is employee satisfaction, they tend to do their work amicably.Most of the employees also loves him dearly but their only problem is his daughter.
This kind of act Rahama was portraying had never happened before. She was acting like a mad woman who was deprived her right. No matter the comments most of the employees passed, she never retaliate, she will only glare at them and walk away. It seems today's comment deeply gets to her.
" I'm sorry MA, please forgive me" the lady was sobbing terribly . In age, she was older than Rahama by far and if she was to retaliate, she would beat Rahama black and blue. But she doesn't want to because of her sick daughter who is in the hospital suffering from cancer . It might cost her her job if she retaliate and the hospital bill comes from this job.
" you stupid lady. Do you know what I want? I want you to crawl from here down to the first floor. I don't care how you do it and I want you to start now "
" SHE WILL DO NO SUCH THING "
