Two Wives Chapter 41

"WHAT are you so mad about, huh?" his lips lightly feathered mine. I opened my mouth to speak but he didn't allow me. My knees weakened as I held onto his polo shirt tightly, all the inhibitions suddenly vanishing into thin air. "Not here..." he muttered under his breath, pulling away from me ever so slowly I was fixing myself and combing my hair using my fingers before hearing a few steps getting louder. "Hi, Zeki! Hi, Meredith!" a student from beside my room said. "Hi..." I greeted back. I gasped after she passed through us. My eyes turned to Zekiah who had a smile plastered on his face. "I'll better be going." I threatened him using my eyes before walking up. I know he's still following me because my bag is with him. From a distance, I could hear my classmates' loud chatters, indicating that class was still yet to start. "Hi, Zeki!" Tyra and her social friends almost synchronized. I turned my head to him to see his reaction. He only nodded but didn't smile. I raised my brows and narrowed my eyes at him. He sighed and tilted his head a little. He caught my arms and squeezed it lightly. "I'll wait for you at our usual place..." he whispered . He lent my shoulder bag before kissing me on my cheek and left. I heard my classmates shrieked at his action while the others teased Tyra. "Shut up!" she scoffed. I smiled inwardly while watching him walk away. When I faced them, I fixed my hair and walked pass them. "Tss... someone's feeling pretty, as if she is!" Tyra talked behind my back. I faced her, ready to pick a fight if only Zuay didn't pull me back. "Let them be. They're just insecured because you're dating the school's hottest and smartest guy," she whispered. I immediately recovered and fixed myself. I followed what she said, letting them talk and laugh about what happened. I didn't bother at all, but those girls are getting into my nerves, that's what I'm annoyed by. He always says that he's just being a gentleman, smiling at anyone who greets him. "Why does everyone still surround Zeki, when everyone already knows that you're his girlfriend?" Tawin spoke in a loud voice, enough to be heard by everyone in the room. "Insecurity kills, right?!" Zuay clearly enunciated. My eyes went round. I thought they said that I should let Tyra do what she wants? Now, what is this? "Just mind your own business, cowgirl!" Tyra sarcastically said, crossing her arms against her chest while sitting on the table. "Look who's talking, bitch!" Zuay fought back. Her brows drew apart, seeming to not like what she heard. She stood up and walked towards Zuay's table. "If I were you, I'll shut my mouth. I heard your family's company's going bankrupt? And your last resort is our company. You don't want my Dad to decline your father's proposal, right?" she said with all her guts, voice full of mockery. Zuay stiffened and leaned on her chair, loosing energy. My lips quivered in irritation. How dare her? She shouldn't bring their personal lives in the argument, especially their companies. "So If I were you, I better zip my mouth and shut up!" Tyra's group seconded. If not for the professor barging in, I would have stood up from my seat to pick a fight with her. "Don't bother wasting your time on their group. They're just insecured!" Tawin grated her teeth. I glanced at Zuay who's silently sipping her juice. I felt guilty about it. I know she just wants to defend ne from Tyra but it looks like she's in trouble. "I'm sorry, Zuay." I caressed her arms. She smiled at me. "Don't mind it. I'm sure it won't reach Dad. That Tyra bitch? Once our company gets up again, she'll surely find what she's looking for!" she remarked in a determined manner. "If you want, I can talk to Dad about your company. I'm sure he'll be willing to help." Her face brightened but it immediately faltered away. "No need, I don't want to bother Mr. Cervantes." "My father's not like that. Watch me take care of it." In the end, she thanked me and continued eating. It was past five in the afternoon when I arrived at our meeting place—the place behind Emerson University, under the mango tree were we can sight the soccer field of the school. Hezekiah's already on his fourth year taking business management, while I was still on my second year. Orange painted the skies, people slowly vanishing as the night falls. I leaned onto the three and closed my eyes. His dismissal was still six so I often wait for him here. I almost jumped from my seat when I felt someone sat beside me. I slowly looked up at him, and suddenly, I felt like melting to the ground because of his smile. He's not wearing his polo shirt, leaving him with only the V-neck shirt. I also noticed that he's sweating, I'm sure he ran from his building to here. "Sorry, I was a bit late," he said. I sat properly, fixing my ruffled hair. "Uh, how was your class?" I merely whispered to him. "It was fine..." I nodded before staring at the wide soccer field. With the strong winds was the fast beating of my heart. I peered at him, only to see him rummaging something inside his bag. "Here." My eyes widened at the siopao he lended. It was still hot when I received it. "T-thanks..." I pursed my lips. I wanted to hug him in so much happiness but shame got to me first. He also got a plastic containing a Zesto juice before giving it to me. "How about you?" I asked him, shyness arising. "I'm fine. Finish that before the sun sets," he said, taking off his V-neck shirt. My lips opened at the sight of him. The orange glows painted his body beautifully. He had a ramrod straight and rock-hard jaw, a set if deep piercing eyes and wide sloping shoulders. It's the kind of body that will stop you on your tracks. The rest of the world could be as rough as it desired but it never effected him, he shone his inner handsomeness all the same. I guess that's the part why I fell in love with him. He wiped his sweat with his shirt. He got a new shirt from his bag and put it on. The V-neck shirt he used was on the grass as he laid down, his head pillowed my thighs, crossing his arms on his chest. "W-what are you doing?" I stammered. I wanted to cuss, how come my voice suddenly sounded so small? His sexy plump lips moved slightly. "I'll wait here until you finish your food," he said in a hushed voice. I didn't get the chance to talk more when he closed his eyes. I remained staring at him, frozen. My heart pounded faster the longer I hear his deep breaths. "Eat... Iseah's arriving at any moment," he muttered while still closing his eyes. I gulped and brought my eyes onto the soccer field. Iseah is his younger brother who's in his second year in accountancy. In the end, I continued eating my food until it was finished. "Oh my God!" My eyes went wide while staring at the SUV in front of me. "Did you like it?" Dad asked me right behind my back. I turned to him and hugged him tight. "Oh! Thank you, Daddy! I love it so much!" I showered him kisses. Daddy laughed a bit while heartily accepting my kisses. "You're very much welcome, sweetheart..." "I love you..." I told him and turned my head around, I instantly ran into the car's hood and hugged it. "That's too childish, Meredith!" Mom's high pitched voice echoed from inside. I was pouting as I stood properly, eyeing her as she walked in the garage, holding the car keys. "You better thank your mom. She convinced me to buy you a new car." Her creased forehead because of my gaped mouth never escaped from my sight. "Be responsible. We didn't just picked the money that we used to buy that car," Mom told me, raising her hands holding the keys. I quickly came to her to get the keys but she turned it away from my grasp. "Is your dad the only one who gets kisses and hugs?" Her voice suddenly became softer. I smiled cheekily and hugged her tightly. I almost cried as I felt her palm caressing my back. "Thanks, mom! I promise, I'll be responsible all the time! "All right, what are you waiting for?" she said after withdrawing from the hug. I got the keys from her and ran into the driver seat. "Take care, Emory!" Mommy shouted.
