Lucas arrived at power technology and was received by his board members. They entered the board room as Ivy jerkins were seated waiting for him. She stood up to welcome him.
He took his seat before anyone else did. Most of the board members have never seen him before.
" Can I the resume' " he ordered as they presented the company's resume to him. He flipped through them though he had done a background check on them already. He read it close to an hour before closing it.
" Ivy jerkins I presume. I'm sure you read my conditions and resume' as well. No industry or company degrades me. This contract is for five years. Should I find your company lacking and inefficient? I shall withdraw my shares and should you cheat me I'll buy your company under your nose or watch it grumble under your watch. " He said callously waiting for her to refute
" I'm very much aware of that Sir. I won't disappoint you" she curtsied
The contract was signed and she invited him for dinner.
" I don't dine with women. Especially older ones" he sneered walking out on her.
Ivy was ashamed of herself. Perhaps his girlfriend could help if only she knew who she was. At least he signed the contract. She returned to her house while Viola was waiting for news.
" Tell me it worked"
" Yes but he's scary. I fear him already. He's not a man that can be tamed" said a scared Ivy
" Yep. That's what you asked for. As long as you do your job. You won't have any problem with him"
" He's cold and domineering his board members are scared of him"
" That's because he was an ex-general in the army. He probably has a gun or was it just a rumor" she cackled as ivy took a seat
" Name your price," she said sternly
" Let me stay with you for some time or work with you to raise money " she suggested since Lucas destroyed the only business she had
" How about I give you some amount of good money and you leave me alone once and for all. " Said ivy with a mischievous smile
" That isn't what we agreed on" she yelled
" I know perhaps I should send you away without a penny" she smiled at her suggestion.
" And you'll watch Lucas Hamilton Rob you of your property"
" Liar"
" I'm sure he gave you that sermon. He wasn't lying he'll take your company from you if he finds it worthy should you backslide or he'll burn it to the ground" she said scornfully
" You tricked me" she accused grabbing her
" But he warned you with his mouth. How can you doubt a word that comes out of a mouth as serious as that of Lucas Hamilton? She queried as ivy recalled his aloof face and callous words
" Fine, you're my secretary henceforth. "
" I'm afraid I didn't get that far in school before I went into the golddigger business" she sneered
" You mean prostitution," said ivy callously as Viola sneered
" No. I simply find the richest bachelors, study them and make them fall madly in love with me then I get the cash" she said proudly as guilt showed in her face but disappeared way after that.
" Can you do that to that Lucas?
" Hell no. He's too young and I heard he hates women. That's a big no for me besides I'm old now. He won't look my way" she said trying to convince her unless she'll be digging her own grave
" Okay. What kind of position will you like?
" A security officer will do. I'll just stay in the security room keeping tabs on you" she suggested ivy could tell she was running from Lucas but why? That was another puzzle for her which she intends to find out soon.
