Chapter 47 The President's Help
The space of the elevator was only four square meters large and there were only two people inside, Bella and Lanny. The distance between them was only one centimeter away.
Bella felt like she was almost suffocating and the strong malice emanating from Lanny made her shudder.
She looked away and leaned to her left, trying to get as far away from her sister as possible.
But no matter how much she controlled her senses, she could feel Lanny's gaze glued to her.
Lanny grabbed Bella's shirt and forced Bella to meet her eyes.
She had a sarcastic smile on her face and looked at Bella with a deep sense of repugnance.
With the twinge of dark pleasure that she felt, she glared at Bella that was so similar to her own.
Even though they were sisters, Bella could never compare herself to Lanny.
As an older sister, she should help her little sister.
Every nerve of Lanny was gleaming with jealousy and a smirk slip out of her pink shaded lips.
She pressed her mouth to Bella's ear and whispered, "I know Edward's secret and the lie with which you've been living."
Bella turned as white as a sheet of paper. Her stunned expression was exactly what Lanny expected to see.
Contemptuously Lanny continued, "I will wait for a good time to expose him for what he really is."
Lanny could have straight away told her sister what she had found out but she wouldn't. She planned to find an opportunity to make a big deal out of it.
Lanny's words and actions made Bella feel uncomfortable and she flung her arms around to get out of Lanny's grip. However her resistance caused Lanny to increase the strength in her hands. She was a sadist to be better called.
"What the hell are you doing to me?" Bella couldn't hold back and yelled at her sister.
"Just trying to get you to come to reality and stop deceiving yourself." Lanny was emotionless in her words but Bella's reaction made her excited.
"Your husband is faking his disability. I told you he doesn't want to work. He is a lazy bastard. So he's in a wheelchair waiting for you to feed him." Lanny tried to open the eyes of innocent Bella.
"Get out, I don't want to hear any more of your nonsense."Bella pushed her sister out of the way, landing her too far away.
"Your argument doesn't hold."
Lanny hit the elevator wall hard and braced her hands on the wall to steady herself. She slowly approached Bella in menacing steps while her eyes were fixed on her with a wry smile. Lanny grabbed Bella's collar and pushed her against the wall. Raising her foot she stomped down hard on Bella's foot.
"Ouch!" That hurt like hell.
Bella felt as if her foot had been split, causing her to shiver in pain.
Suddenly, the elevator door opened and an unexpected visitor stood at the elevator door.
Bella saw Lanny suddenly stop moving and followed her gaze towards the elevator entrance.
The man wore a pair of polished leather shoes. He was elegantly dressed wearing a custom made suit.
His legs were long and slender and he had broad shoulders.
That physique was enthralling enough for any girl to get instantly turned on.
His height was more than 190 centimeters and in short; he was like a model coming out of a magazine.
But the only thing that was bringing the feeling of distraught was a mask with a dragon carved onto it that obscured his face.
All the people who saw him with the weird mask would be curious to find out what was there behind it.
Was he a man extremely handsome or as ugly as a lizard?
But even if he was incredibly ugly, it would not affect the majority of women's attraction for him because he was the president of Skytal sitting on great wealth and power and was a legend in the business world.
And Lanny was no exception.
After she saw the president, she immediately let go of Bella, quickly straightened her hair and clothes and gave a flattering smile to the president. "Good day, president."
It looked like she had forgotten all the stuff that happened to her as soon as she saw him. The president had literally kicked her out of his office and ordered a pay cut. The incident was not more than a week old and Lanny overlooked it?
However, Lanny didn't forget or forgive people who tried to play with her. She was a person who treated money like her life. But she had her own principles: she never resented the strong. She would only blame everything on the weak like her sister Bella.
The president walked into the elevator and drew slow but menacious steps towards her. With each stride he took forward lessening the gap between them, Lanny was growing more nervous. She almost forgot to breathe when the president was subsequently not a foot away.
What was happening? A sweet temptation kicked in her as she bit the inside of her cheek and stared straight at the president. Her pink lips were slightly open, it was her conscious effort to make her present herself in the ways that are most tempting that he had ever experienced.
Just as a spider in a spider's web quietly waited for its prey to throw itself into the web, Lanny was waiting for the president to approach her sweet trap.
She was aiming he would kiss her passionately in the elevator, ignoring the bitch's presence and might also take a level up by making love to her right in the elevator.
'Come on, I'm ready,' was her silent call. But the next second, a painful sensation came from her foot.
"Ouch!" She screamed and lowered her head to see the president's foot on her own. "Hey, you are standing on my foot."
"Oh, I'm sorry, I was just looking for Bella to talk about something."The president apologized but the intensity of his foot only increased with the passing seconds. "And you're just in my way."
He was clearly apologizing to her but his actions proved contrary. He was a double faced smart asshole. Lanny felt the threat of death in his actions. It was always known that what was worse than being scolded by the president was him giving you an apology.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong, I'll get out right away." Lanny kept repeating these words until thankfully the elevator stopped on the 32nd floor.
"Oh, here I go." She said stumbling and running out of the elevator without looking back.
Bella watched Lanny's back as she fled in haste. She stole a glance at the president, who didn't react as if he wasn't the one who had just scared Lanny.
The elevator door slowly closed with only the president and Bella in it.
Bella felt a little embarrassed. Although the president was not a stranger to her, it was her first time to be alone in such a confined environment and in such close proximity.
"President, you just said you wanted to talk to me about something. What is it?" Bella cleared her throat and asked, feeling the need to take the lead in breaking the awkward silence.
"Nothing big, just wanted to see if you've finished the work that I've given you." The president replied coldly.
His words made Bella suddenly react. She was supposed to go to the finance department to reimburse the air ticket. She had entirely forgotten about it.
"Right, I was about to go to the finance department to reimburse the airline tickets." Bella kept her tone as smooth as possible.
She reached out to press the elevator button but accidentally touched the president's hand and a tingling sensation spread throughout her body.
She quickly withdrew her hand and peeked at the president's reaction with her afterglow.
The president did not show any displeasure as he pressed the button of the 37th floor for Bella.
Bella's heart was warmed by his small friendly gesture. She looked at the president's back and a very familiar feeling suddenly arose in her heart.
