Chapter 54 Lanny's Scheme
Skytel had always been known for its strict discipline in the industry. The employees must follow the attendance system strictly, otherwise they would be severely punished, but Lanny was an exception. She was not bound by these rules and regulations.
Lanny could come and go whenever she wanted to and still had the luxury of receiving her monthly salary in full. If anyone dared to object to this behavior, she would threaten them using her husband's name, David, who was the director of the company.
As the wife of the company director and the ex-wife of the former president, Lanny had all the privileges she could enjoy.
Earlier that day, Lanny had suffered a little setback in the personnel department, but it did not affect her mood at all. She already had the URL of the company's personnel file in hand, and all she had to do was crack the password of the file vault to get more information about Edward.
If Edward were still rich, as she suspected, then she would do whatever it takes to get him back from Bella. As for David, she would not let go of him either. She wanted to possess the wealth of two men simultaneously and gain more power than any person could ever have.
Lanny was not the least bit ashamed of the idea. Countless men in the world kept lovers after marrying their wives.
'What's wrong with wanting to have a husband and a lover simultaneously?' She thought to herself as a smile gradually crept into her lips.

Lanny hummed a little tune while driving all the way home. When she arrived at her door, she found Bob waiting for her as promised.
Before he was injured and hospitalized, Bob was the company's technical department manager. He was an expert in the field of technology. He also took on many private jobs, earning some dirty money in exchange for breaking passwords, hacking into competitors' websites, and the likes.
When Lanny offered him work, Bob agreed without hesitation. Breaking into the company's personnel file was a piece of cake for him.
The two grabbed a seat in front of the computer to carry out the task without a word. Lanny tapped on the keyboard and typed in the URL. It took Bob only a minute and a half to decipher the password, revealing thousands of employee files.
Edward's file was in the file of departing employees. Lanny clicked into his file, which was empty except for some basic personal information, leaving her disappointed.
However, a sudden curiosity drove her to click on the president's file, and she was surprised to find even less information than Edward's. But among the scarce information, Lanny found that Edward's and the president's education were surprisingly similar.
After pondering for a while, a groundbreaking conclusion made Lanny jerk up from her seat and turn to Bob.
"Bob, I asked you to monitor Edward's whereabouts. You should know where he goes every morning, right?" Lanny asked.
"Every morning, a muscular man would come to pick him up after Bella left the house. I tried following them, but his car would speed up and ditch my car every time I reached the intersection. I had no exact idea where he went," Bob replied.
Lanny could not help rolling her eyes at him. 'What a loser! The $200 a day I was paying him was poured down the drain.' she mentally spat before she came up with another question.
"But is his way heading towards Skytel?" Lanny probed.
Bob thought about it for a while, then nodded. "Yes."
Hearing that answer, the corner of Lanny's lips spread into a smile. That answer was more than enough for her to put the pieces together.
Lanny closed her eyes and thought back to Edward and the president in her mind. The two images matched perfectly. They have the same body type, scent, and voice. The only difference was their hair color, but the president might have been wearing a wig all those times if she had guessed it right.
"Damn it," Lanny whispered roughly. She could not believe how Edward managed to fool her completely, taking her too long to notice.
The injury, the disability, and the bankruptcy were all lies. Lanny could not wait to unveil the golden dragon mask, reveal his true nature, and get her revenge.
Lanny hated Edward, who had woven so many lies to get rid of her and hook up with Bella. However, she hated Bella even more for stealing her man and taking away the president's secretary position, which once belonged to her.
Lanny's heart spreads anger, jealousy, resentment, hatred, and other emotions like a black hole that swallows all light. She vowed to find evidence of Edward playing a double role as a way to threaten him back to her no matter what it took.
Lanny hooked a finger at Bob, signaling him to come closer. She seductively pressed her lips to his ear and whispered, "Go to Bella's house and help me find something."
Bob was surprised to hear Lanny's command, but she was serious. He was curious as to why she would need 'that' thing. However, when he was about to ask, Lanny's sharp gaze cut his tongue.
"Now!" Lanny ordered impatiently.
Bob nodded and scampered to head over to Bella's house and complete his mission without another word.

Four hours later, as the night fell, all the staff in the Skytal building had already left after work, the sound of high heels echoed through the ground floor of the quiet Skytel building, and there was a young woman with a flashlight walking to the presidential elevator.
The woman gently pressed the 49th-floor button, and it did not take her long to arrive at the designated floor. She immediately headed out and moved toward the president's office.
As the bright moonlight streamed through the glass canopy of the building, it illuminated the delicate and beautiful face of the woman, who was no other than Lanny.
