At ten in the morning, the plane landed in Qing City. Han Xi and Manman walked out of the airport carrying their suitcases, where Chu Ci’s manager, Su Yan, was already waiting outside. She waved her arm upon seeing them come out.
Once they reached the car, Su Yan opened the trunk, took Han Xi’s suitcase, and put it in: "Chu Ci was overjoyed when she heard you were coming."
"Thank you for taking the trouble to pick us up," Han Xi said with a smile.
"No need to be so polite with me, hop in the car quickly."
They got in the car, and Su Yan turned the steering wheel, turning around: "Chu Ci asked me to take you directly to the hotel, she said she’ll come and find you at the hotel after she’s done filming."
The weather in Qing City is colder than in An City, and Han Xi and Manman wore relatively light clothing, so when they got in the car, Su Yan turned on the heat.
Back at the hotel, Han Xi organized her clothes from the suitcase and then threw herself onto the bed. This time they planned to stay longer with Chu Ci, so they brought more clothes.
Around noon, Chu Ci returned, and as soon as she entered, Manman hugged her, tears welling up in her eyes.
"What’s the matter, Manman, who bullied you?" Chu Ci quickly wiped the tears from her face.
Manman is the least skilled at hiding her emotions; whatever she’s thinking is fully displayed on her face.
"No one bullied me, I just missed you," Manman sniffled as she sat on the sofa, looking pitifully at Chu Ci.
Chu Ci took off her coat, changed her shoes, and walked into the living room: "Turns out I’m so charming that someone missed me enough to cry."
Chu Ci was only joking; she knew something had to have happened, otherwise, the girl wouldn’t cry for no reason.
After all, that’s not her character.
"After spending hours on a plane, I’m really hungry now. Does the Chu Goddess want to treat us to a feast?" Han Xi changed the subject, fearing that Manman might not be able to control herself and spill everything.
Chu Ci sat down on the sofa, popped a grape into her mouth: "The hotel will send the food over soon. This meal might be a bit disappointing for you two, as I still have to shoot this afternoon, a bit rushed, but we can go out to eat tonight."
"Sure, we’re not leaving yet anyway, planning to stay here for a few days."
"It’s rare for Doctor Han to be on vacation to accompany me, I’m truly flattered."
Chu Ci slumped into the sofa, her whole morning’s pressure now leaving her aching and tired.
After eating, they cozied up on the sofa chatting, when Chu Ci’s phone rang on the table. It was Shi Yu calling, so Chu Ci got up and went to the bedroom to take the call.
When she returned after hanging up, Manman frowned and asked, "Why did he call you?"
"Shi Yu said he’ll come over tonight," Chu Ci placed the phone back on the table, puzzled as she looked at Manman: "Why do you seem weird to me?"
Han Xi quickly stepped in to help Manman out: "Her aunt has been urging her to go on blind dates lately, perhaps she’s not feeling too good about it."
"Is that so? No wonder I feel she’s holding back anger within her. Are there any handsome guys or wealthy matches among these blind dates?"
"No," Manman replied testily.
In the afternoon, Chu Ci went to the set, and Han Xi and Manman didn’t feel like going out, so they nestled in the hotel watching TV. When Chu Ci returned in the evening, she said Shi Yu had already reserved the restaurant.
Han Xi and Manman had already decided earlier in the afternoon that they wouldn’t join Chu Ci and the others for dinner, as some things were better discussed between the two of them alone.
