Old Master Lu completely ignored Lu Jinghan’s words, looking at the two people across with a meaningful gaze: "Hmm, you do make a good pair."
Han Xi lowered her head, deciding not to explain any further. Old Master Lu had already preconceived some notion about the two of them, and now, even if she were to talk herself hoarse, it probably wouldn’t help. She might even make it worse.
"If you come to my house again without a heads-up, I’m definitely changing the passcode." Lu Jinghan was quite displeased that his grandfather had interrupted their alone time.
"Alright, alright, I’ll definitely inform you in advance next time."
Old Master Lu waved his hand impatiently, but his eyes were still smiling and fixed on Han Xi.
Han Xi, feeling a bit uneasy, tucked a few stray hairs behind her ear, her mind in a muddle, a mess she couldn’t put into words.
"The more I look at this granddaughter-in-law of mine, the more satisfied I am. Later, you can give me a great-grandchild..."
Han Xi really couldn’t sit still. How did it escalate to this? A great-grandchild?
"Grandpa Lu, you really misunderstood. I’m not Mr. Lu’s girlfriend. If you don’t believe me, ask Mr. Lu."
Old Master Lu turned his gaze to Lu Jinghan, waiting for his response without a word.
Lu Jinghan glanced at the woman beside him and spoke slowly: "Hmm, currently, she indeed isn’t."
Han Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief, but in the next second, she quickly realized, her cheeks turning even redder.

Old Master Lu seemed quite satisfied with his grandson’s answer and, being very self-aware, stood up from his chair: "I won’t disturb you young ones anymore."
After sending off Old Master Lu, Han Xi sat at the dining table, bowing her head to eat the noodles in the bowl, feeling the atmosphere was a bit strange.
After dinner, Han Xi washed the bowls for both of them. Just as she walked into the living room, she saw that Persian cat darting out. She instinctively yelped, retreating step by step. Probably out of fear, she lost her balance and fell backward.
Hearing the cry, Lu Jinghan ran out of the bathroom and caught Han Xi in his arms, but still fell to the ground unsteadily.
Han Xi instinctively clutched Lu Jinghan’s waist, her lips landing on the man’s adam’s apple, warm breaths lightly sprayed across his skin.
Instantly, the atmosphere turned heated, with ambiguous tensions swirling in the air.
Han Xi felt as if her heart was about to burst out of her chest, her face burning hot, her mind a mushy mess.
Several seconds later, Han Xi awkwardly tried to get up, only to be held tighter by Lu Jinghan.
The more she struggled, the tighter the hold.
"Um... Mr. Lu, could you... could you please let go of me?" Han Xi’s heart pounded faster, so tense she couldn’t form a complete sentence.
Lu Jinghan lowered his deep gaze filled with an inescapable gentleness, his lips curled in a tender smile.
Lu Jinghan didn’t let go immediately, instead savoring the moment with her in his arms for a few more minutes before finally releasing her.
When they had fallen, Lu Jinghan had protected Han Xi tightly, so she didn’t feel any pain from the fall.
After standing up, Han Xi didn’t dare lift her head to look at him, her face burning hot like it was on fire, yet she still softly asked: "Is your injury okay?"
"I’m fine. Let’s go, I’ll take you back to the hospital."
Lu Jinghan glanced at the cat squatting next to the coffee table. For the first time, he felt this little guy had its uses, but still decided to give it away, since Han Xi was so afraid of it.
