"Why can't I? I thought you would like this!" I yelled at him.
"I just don't like it. I love it—but I can't let you go and wear it outside!" Zarsuelo yelled back.
"What can we do? I didn't bring any knee-length shorts!" I told him.
Yes, it's early morning, and we are bickering nonstop.
Zarsuelo decided to have a team-building exercise after announcing our relationship to the public. He wanted us to take a break from the issue, and reporters kept calling our company after releasing the news about us. I don't know what they wanted to hear from us when they already got the answers they wanted to hear.
That is why one day, he announced that we would be taking a 3-day trip to a beach resort.
Before the day we went to this beach resort, I seriously thought about what I should bring with me. He always tells me how I look pretty in shorts, so I got only shorts and formal attire that I might use in an emergency.
Now that we had to play at the beach and change clothes, Zarsuelo didn't let me leave our room.
"I will order it online for you." Zarsuelo suggested.
"There is no need to buy me new shorts." I answered.
"I insist. I have money, and we can buy them." he retorted.
"Keep shoving your money in my face. I will go home this instant." I warned him.
"I don't mean that one." he replied.
"Then let me wear this. I brought this because I thought you would like it. I just wasted my effort!" I told him and stormed out of the room.
The more we stay in one room, the more I want to punch him, so no. When I reached our co-workers, I realized they were waiting for us.
"I am sorry. We should start the activities." I told them.
I went to my friend's side.
"You guys fought?" Tyler added.
Zarsuelo asked all the security guards to come, but only Tyler went.
"He is mad at me for wearing this short," I shared. "I thought he would like it since he kept on telling me. Now that I wore it, he wants me to wear a knee-length short when I didn't bring one." I added complaining.
"I can't say who is right or wrong between you. You want to make some efforts for him, and he wants to protect you. You should talk about it later and fix it, okay?" Tyler advises
After a few minutes, Zarsuelo came out of the hotel and avoided my presence.
"Keep on ignoring me, Zarsuelo. If you try to approach me later, I won't look at or talk to you as if I did not see you." I muttered.
We started to play different activities, basketball, volleyball, coin logo, beach scavenger hunt, and balloon juggling. When the sun goes down, we circle up and do the truth and lie game and sing a song where there are also performing the music they are playing.
"You guys haven't talked yet?" Tyler asked.
I shake my head. "Not yet. He kept ignoring me, so I ignored him too." I answered.
"This is the first time I've seen you guys fight so hard," Tyler commented. "You guys need to calm down for now. Talk before going to sleep. We will stay here for more than one day. This should be a special event for both of you, yet you are ignoring each other." he added.
"I wanted to make peace with him a while ago. What can I do? He will ignore me or even look at me. He is the one who started this. I won't back down and run to him." I reasoned out.
After the activities, we went our ways. I took a walk on the beach as I dialed my dad's number.
"Hi, Traizle! I missed you already!" Layzen answered the phone.
"I missed you too! Where is Dad? How about the cat and dog?" I asked.
"Dad is preparing our dinner. The cat and dog are fighting over their scores on the TV." he answered.
Lately, Lyndon and Archane have been fighting while playing online games. They don't feel like losing. That is why we call them cats and dogs.
"Can you please go to them and click the loudspeaker?" I asked Layzen.
"Okay," he answered. "Hey guys, Traizle is on the line." he added.
"Keep on fighting. I will ensure no one can play on their phone or gadgets for a week when I return home. Even the television!" I warned them. "Go to Dad, Layzen." I added.
"Okay," he replied. "Dad! Traizle wants to tell you something." Layzen said.
"Traizle! Dad missed you too much." I heard my dad say.
"I missed you too! Make a delicious dinner and rest after." I told him.
"Daddy will. Take care there, okay?" He answered.
"I will, Dad. I will go now. I love you guys!" I said.
"I love you too!" They replied before ending the call.
If Zarsuelo hadn't started to bicker, we would already be talking and eating now.
"Tss. I will try to talk to him later when I get to our hotel room."
"Damn you, food! We shouldn't eat in the first place!" I heard a man shout.
It seems like he is in a bad mood too.
"Oh, did you hear me complaining? I am sorry about that." he apologized when he saw me.
"No, don't worry. Were you blaming the food?" I asked, laughing.
He scratches his nape. "My girl and I fought over food. I shouldn't have asked her to eat with me when we would fight." he shared.
"We are on the same boat. My boyfriend doesn't want me to wear this short that I thought he would like in the first place." I also shared.
We laughed at hearing each other stories. It's funny to meet someone who has the same problem as me.
"Yeah, I hope you guys can fix it before the sun comes up." he cheered.
"I hope you guys can make peace too." I also cheered for him.
When I came to our hotel room, I saw Zarsuelo standing by the wall when I opened the door.
"You had fun talking with that man on the beach?" He asked.
"You saw us?" I asked back.
"Yeah, I saw you guys talking. So happy that I didn't even try to interrupt." he answered.
"Were you saying that I was doing something bad?" I asked.
"You are the one who said that not me." he retorted.
"But you are saying it indirectly! We didn't do anything bad, we just talked, and that's all." I tried to defend myself.
"Instead of fixing our problem, you had the time to talk to him?" He asked back.
"Can you please stop saying nonsense things!? I planned to talk to you when I came home, but you did this. How can we talk if you keep on chastising me?" I answered and went out to go to Claire's room.
I thought we might be okay before we went to sleep. It is just a thought.
