Just as soon as I close the door, she decides to place the book down on the desk next to her before picking up a glass from earlier in the day and lobbing it at me. “How dare you! I have been stuck in here without anything to eat and I am being treated like a prisoner.” She screams at me with fire in her eyes before picking up anything else she can find to throw at me.
Shocked, I watch as she acts like a two-year-old now and flings everything within walking distance at me, even though three seconds earlier she was calm and collected. Dodging expertly, I demand, “Stop! Quit acting like a child.” Pausing, she glares at me only to return to her work of destroying everything in the room.
“Wow. Really?” I shake my head and decide to leave because this simply won’t do.
The minute I turn around to leave, she stops and then asks in a timid tone, “Would you please stay? I am sorry and I’m really hungry.” The look on her face tells it all. She is torn between hating me and giving in to her bodies need for nourishment.
Standing by the door, I hear her stomach growl and realize that she does need to eat even if she is acting like a spoiled, immature little brat. Taking a step forward, I am leery about giving her anymore dishes to throw at me. However, I think about it for a moment and then finally decide to go closer to give her the plate.
The minute I hand it to her, she surprises me because she turns her face up to mine and smiles before saying, “Thank you.”
Watching as she backs up before sitting down, I notice something about her. She has little dimples, and they really stand out when her smile is genuine like it is now. I can tell because there is a glint in her eyes as she sits down and digs into the plate that Omega Dante so graciously prepared for her just a few minutes earlier.
Eating like a wild thing, she finishes in no time and then stares at me before cocking her head and stating, “You have been just staring at me this whole time. What are you thinking?”
I hesitate for a moment, because if I tell her my true thoughts, I fear she will chuck that plate at me and then start screaming how lecherous I am for a King. O.K., so I know for a fact that she will. Because I can’t help but wonder if she eats so ravenous like that, what will she be like in bed with me?
She must be able to read my thoughts because a minute later, she stands up and starts making grunting sounds before saying in a matter-of-fact tone, “It figures. From the look on your pervy face, you are all male and can only think of screwing my brains out.”
At that, I can’t help but start to laugh. Then the fighting starts again. “Did you think that was funny?” She yells at me before turning around.
“Hm. I guess you have formed your own conclusions, and yet you haven’t even bothered to find out exactly what my thoughts were on this subject. Did you?” I ask as she starts to get on my nerves.
Then I continue with, “If you keep this up, I will walk out and not bring you breakfast in the morning. We will soon see how you like that one.”
Standing there, I wait for her to say something. When she doesn’t and just stares at me with her arms folded tight against her chest, I know damn well that she thinks I am an older man who just wants to get in her pants. How do I show her that I want more than that, when she won’t even talk to me like a rational woman should?
Is it because she is so young? Or has this situation made her already hate me before we ever got to know each other? If this is true, then I have no choice but to keep her locked up for eternity and hope that someday she will just come to her senses and see things my way. Of course, I would prefer sooner than later.
I must have a frown on my face, because she steps towards me with worry in her eyes and asks, “Are you going to eat me now?”
“Is this what you are so worried about little one? There is no way I would ever eat you. Matter of fact, usually our kind doesn’t prefer to eat humans. It was only that other pack who was trying to start something with me. That is why they chose to do what they were about to, before I stopped them. If I hadn’t, they would have butchered the whole lot of you in a heartbeat.” As I say it, my eyes travel down her slender figure to her feet that seem so fixed to that spot on the floor.
“But why me? Why of all people, did you choose me?” She forces me to stare back into those gorgeous eyes before she continues. “I mean, there were so many girls there at the rave. You could have easily had anyone of them. I must be at least 10 years younger than you and I’m a virgin. Why would you possibly want me? I have nothing to offer you.”
My eyes wander down her body again till I stop and find my way back to her eyes before answering the questions. “If you must know now, I felt something at that place. It was a strange and unusual feeling for me. Honestly, I have never had such a strong connection with anyone from the moment I first saw them.”
She makes a funny squeak before asking, “You mean, like destiny or something?”
Being careful to not say too much and scare her right away, I keep it simple for the moment. “Yes. Something like that. Anyway, I had better let you get some rest. You have been working up quite a sweat throwing things at me today and destroying everything in this room. I will talk to you in the morning.”
Right away, I realize that I shouldn’t have said what I said, because she goes on the defensive and starts swearing at me. “You are such an asshole! If you wouldn’t have kept me in here locked up, I wouldn’t have done all this stuff just to get out. You know, I think I will find something else to destroy so you will let me go. I bet if I do enough damage, you will want me out of here pronto.” She points at my chest as she grows closer and closer with fire in her eyes.
At this point, if I step back, she will win. I can’t let her have that small victory if I am ever going to get her to see things from my perspective and start to respect my authority. Looking back at our previous fight, I already know what I must do when she starts beating on my chest again and screaming at me.
I reach around her and hold her tight in a big hug that scares her just enough to stop her attack for the moment. When she stops and glances up into my eyes, I know that this is not the time for me to kiss her, but I can’t stop my body from wanting her anyways. I lower my lips to her pink tinted ones and then I taste her sweetness just for a second before releasing her and walking out the door. When I turn to lock it, I get a surprise as she opens the door with fire in her eyes and punches me right in my family jewels.
The minute she does, I wince in pain before screaming, “You bitch!” And then I watch as she runs off down the hall.
She doesn’t make it beyond the end of the corridor. The security guards see to that and promptly bring her right back. While I stand there angrier than I have been in quite a long time, she walks by with two security guards and not once does she even glance at me before they shove her inside and lock the door.
How dare she defy me like this. I mean, who in the hell does she think she is? Does she not realize I could very well eat her for a bedtime snack if I so desired?
Shaking my head, I walk off to my bedroom and then find myself reading a book for several hours in the quiet of my room before bed. The last thing I do before retiring for the night, is to stare out the window at the moon and make a promise to myself. She will quit her attitude with me no matter what or I am not the Alpha King. After all, I can’t let a little girl ruin everything for me.
