First thing in the morning, I wake up to hear the birds singing outside my window. Then I hear the Morning Doves cooing softly in the distance afterwards. While listening for any other noises, I hear Arabella’s voice in the next room as she talks with Omega Jenny. They seem to be getting along famously, because the next thing that I hear is loud laughter.
Curious of what could be so funny, I listen more carefully to the rest of the conversation before getting dressed. Since there is a wall between us, their voices are a bit muffled, but I get every couple of words and when I hear my name, I stop and place my ear against the wall to hear even better. Feeling a smile spread across my face, I can’t help but hope that she has some secret desire for me that she will confide in Jenny.
However, the next thing I know I hear a knock on my door. Unfortunately, this means that I don’t hear the rest of the conversation because someone has interrupted me. “Hold on.” I shout to the person on the outside of my room while I quickly pull on a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt before walking to the door and answering it.
As soon as I open the door, I recognize Alpha Robert because he is always hanging around the kitchen. I can tell ironically because his belly has expanded every day he has been here, which I do believe today will be three weeks. Wondering quite frequently when he will be going back to his pack and taking care of business, I remind myself today I must ask him exactly when he plans on leaving. Of course, if he doesn’t leave soon, I will be forced to toss him off the premises.
“My king, we are all waiting for you in the meeting room. You told us three days ago that this morning at 8 a.m. we would have a meeting to talk about all the new changes. Of course, when you didn’t show up, we all stayed except for a few who decided that you had other more important things to take care of apparently. They honestly sounded upset and if you don’t mind me saying this, I will tell you that you had better watch your back. I get the feeling they are looking to fill your position.” He frowns with a furrowed brow and looks like a man who is deeply troubled by something.
“Is there anything else troubling you?” I ask because for some reason, I get the feeling he knows more than he is saying.
“Sir, if you don’t mind my asking.” He looks at me for approval before asking the question.
When I nod to go ahead, he continues softer than before, so no one else can hear what he is about to say, “My king, is this girl worth all this trouble? I have heard talk amongst the other Alpha’s and Beta’s, and they are concerned that your mind is not on ruling but bedding this human.”
He swallows hard and then continues, “She seems like trouble, if you don’t mind me saying.”
Raising my left hand to scratch my ear, I state softly while looking around me for anyone who might be eavesdropping, “She is, because she will be everyone’s Luna and Queen. So, they had all better get used to seeing and hearing about her from now on. And when she is addressed by anyone, they are to call her by her name for the moment, because she does not understand our ways yet.”
He nods before turning to leave, then he stops abruptly and turns back around to ask, “Will you be coming down for the meeting? Or shall I tell everyone that you are changing the date?” He waits patiently for my answer before leaving.
“Yes. Just give me a minute or two. I will be down shortly. I need to just clean up a bit, then I will be down to discuss what we need to do today.” I state with a fake smile on my face, because even if he isn’t thinking of dethroning me, others are and that greatly disturbs me.
As I walk back into my room and shut the door, I hear giggling again next door and wonder what on earth they are possibly talking about. Shaking my head, I realize that right at this moment I don’t have time to concern myself with that tidbit of information. Instead, I must hurry to the meeting so we can get this done fast. Then afterwards I can work on Arabella and put the task at hand to rest, because if she doesn’t send a note to her parents, the law will come knocking again.
“We really don’t need that, right now. Especially while Arabella is still giving me trouble.” I murmur under my breath and raise my hands up to shake in frustration. “Ugh. Why must this happen?”
Just as soon as the meeting concludes, I make my way up to Arabella’s bedroom with a pen and paper. Hoping that she will not cause problems and just do what I ask, I know that it will be the exact opposite. Because sometimes, I think she lives to upset me.
“Knock”

I knock on her door and put my ear to the hardwood as I hope to hear her footprints or something. After a few minutes of waiting, I knock again and still hear nothing. Finally, I decide to unlock the door, but I pause before walking in.
Hopefully, she isn’t taking a shower or a bath. Because if she is, she will just end up screaming at me. I really don’t think my plan would go over well then and I most likely would end up forcing her to cooperate anyway. Although, I would rather her do it willingly.
Shaking my head, I turn the knob and push the door open. I hear a sound from behind the door and then I see her move away from it. Was she just spying on me through the peephole? Interesting.
“Sorry to bother you, but I thought we could visit for a while. Then perhaps you would like to write a letter to your parents to let them know you are alright and being taken care of. I would greatly appreciate it and I know they would. Your father stopped by again and he seemed quite insistent on seeing you, if you are here.” I hesitate for a few seconds and think about what to say next.
“Is he still here?” She asks quickly with excitement in her voice before I could continue.
I hesitate again before answering, “No.”
Frowning, she sticks out her bottom lip and then I see a tear form in the corner of her eye before she quickly wipes it away. But then she says, “Oh. Well, will he be back for me?”
“No. He won’t. I effectively got rid of him. Although, I have brought this pen and paper so you can communicate with them and let them know that you are alright. Will you please tell them that you found somewhere else to live? Also, please don’t mention anything about me. After you write it, I will make sure that they get it this afternoon.” My voice trails off before I think of one more thing to say.
“Oh, if you do this one thing for me and don’t try to let them know anything about where you are, I will make sure that you start getting more freedoms around the kingdom. Is that understood?” I gaze at her with a smile on my face, in hopes that she doesn’t try and clue them in on her real situation.
Not saying anything, she just stands there and stares at me for a moment and then reaches out for the paper and pen. When she takes it, she turns away from me and walks over to her table. Just before she sits down to write, she turns and asks, “Are you coming or what?”
I smile again, and this time it is genuine because she is being friendly with me finally. Who knows, this might be a good thing. If she does this for me, I will let her run around the castle for a little while with me by her side. Then we will see how well she handles dealing with the kingdom’s people.
After sitting here watching her for about twenty minutes, she finally places the pen down and sighs before glancing up at me and saying, “There, I am done.” And then she picks it up and hands it to me. “Now what?” She asks with a peculiar look on her face. It is one that she has never showed me before.
“Well, if you wish. We can take a walk on the castle grounds. There is a beautiful rose garden on the outskirts of the courtyard that I have been dying to show you.” I say thoughtfully as I stare into her eyes and then I had another thought that is better left unsaid for now.
Quickly putting the thought out of my head, I feel that familiar jerk of my member in my pants as they grow tight and a bit painful. If I don’t stop thinking this way, I may bend her over that table and have my way with her right after I kiss that sweet mouth of hers. Because I am too deep in thought of things that I want, I don’t hear her say something.
I glance over at her, and her lips are slightly open as if she is begging me to feel that sweet mouth of hers with something growing harder by the moment. Shaking my head, I quickly dismiss that thought and tune back into the conversation while trying to figure out what she just said. “I beg your pardon. I didn’t hear you, I’m sorry.”
As she repeats it, I watch those lips and that tongue flick out before I hear her say, “Can we go now? I could just kiss you. Thank you so much for trusting me.” Her eyes are lit up as her excitement grows.
“Yes. Of course.”
Smiling, I stand up and watch her do the same. I step closer and wrap my arm around her sweet little waist. Feeling the softness of her frame, I cup her chin with my other hand. Then I raise her lips to mine before devouring them for what seems like hours.
