Thea's Point of View
After aunt Joana departed, Craig's car arrived.
A smile escaped my lips as I raced out to the balcony to meet him, and as I did so, I saw him step down from his black Ford GT.
I crossed both of my hands as I rested my head and back against the door. While staring at my husband, I could not help but be puzzled as to why Aunt Joana would say anything like that.
Without my consciousness, Craig first came over to greet me. He kissed my head and then gently pinched both of my cheeks. I felt secured every time he wraps his arms around me and plants a kiss on the top of my head.
After the honeymoon, we have never have any sex interaction nor even kiss. Except the night I secretly kissed him.
Because of that, it seems as if I'm treating him unfairly.
I gulped and stared intently at his dark eyes and hurriedly gave him a kiss on the lips and then quickly looked away because I was embarrassed.
When a fire spread over my face, I turned around and marched inside. He tensed up like a tree stump just as I could feel him following me.
To my fourth step, he grabbed my arm, held it tightly, and I could see his eyes full of shock and amazement.
"What does it mean, Thea?"
I gazed at the white floor and bit my lower lip before replying, "I read on the internet that a woman should kiss and welcome her husband every time he returns home from work."
He slowly released his grip on my hand while maintaining an expression of dissatisfaction on his face.
In a fit of rage, he clamped his lips together and tightened his jaw. I raised my head to make eye contact with him. Is he becoming irritated with me because I incessantly use the term "internet"?
“Why?”
"I just thought that you— Nevermind," he didn't complete his line, and merely messed up my hair.
I removed his large hand from my long brown hair and it fell to the side. He did nothing except chuckle and placed his arm over my shoulder for the whole conversation.
While he was walking me into the kitchen, he questioned, "Have you already eaten?"
“Nope.” I walked up to him and grabbed his hand from where it had been lying on my shoulder so that I could play with it.
“Why?”
"Aunt Joana visited." As I informed him, I tugged his fingers and made them sound.
"What?!"
"Wait a minute! Ah!"
I was on the verge of losing my balance when he abruptly stopped and turned to face me.
"Why?"
"What's the matter with you?!" I got annoyed with his quick movements.
"Why is she even in this place?"
"About that... she gave me—"
I suddenly remembered Aunt Joana's instruction not to tell Craig, so I shifted my reason. "She didn't do anything more than ask how I was doing and provide some advice. I reassured her that there was nothing to worry about, and things have since been resolved."
He looked at me suspiciously but I just grinned at him and pulled his hand to sit at the table.
Fortunately, the food was already served and all we needed to do was eat. While he was silently slicing the food, I asked him. I acted like I'm interested.
"Craig, before the accident... Where am I at that time? How did the accident happen?"
He stopped slicing and turned his attention to me. While he continued to eat with his fork and knife in his hand, he chewed the meal carefully, as if he were trying to relish every bite.
After a moment of hesitation, he lets go of the knife and pork. In addition to that, he clasped both of his palms together and rested his elbow on the table.
"Even if I wanted to tell you, I'm not allowed to do so. I'm worried that you could black out during part of it, which would put you in danger. It has the potential to infuriate you."
Because I am sitting quite close to him. He took my hand and squeezed it really tightly.
Before I shared what had been occupying a significant portion of my thoughts for some time, I inhaled deeply.
"Why do I feel like you're not my lover? What gives me the impression that everyone is hiding something from me? Nobody has ever explained what really happened to me."
"Thea..."
"No... W-Why did we decide to get married? Why doesn't anybody fill me in on what's going on at the company? I simply forgot something, but I'm not naive! I'm not an idiot, and I haven't gone completely insane."
"You all are refraining me to do things like I am a disabled person. I could investigate, research, and get information too!"
Craig didn't respond but made a hostile expression.
"So, you still won't tell me, huh?" I chuckled without remorse.
When I couldn't take it, I stood up and sprinted away and up the stairs to the room.
