Sara's P.O.V
The restaurant that we always went to was ten minutes away from the company, we always had our meals there and now we were going for dinner. We ordered the food and I decided it would be a good idea to eat outside. I knew I was not going to get any food at home so I wanted to make the most of this meal by eating outside, but just as we took our seats Daniel's car passed by.
His secretary Jacob was driving, but there was another man sitting next to Daniel and I had never seen him before. I looked over at Lisa and Mia, nodding my head to the passing car, but they were already looking at it.
“I never would have thought that a person like Daniel, who was born into a rich family would ever give credit to a small employee for what she has done.” Lisa said and she seemed to be impressed with him.
“Yes you are absolutely right and just as it has always happened in the office a party will be held in honour of the person who wins the project. Tomorrow an office party is going to be held in saras name, according to the rules. I never thought I would see the day that a party would be held in Sara’s name, it is only ever given to the higher level employees. I have never seen such a good person like the CEO.” Mia said and I listened to what they both had to say, but I did not make a comment.
I do not understand why people are so easily fooled by Daniel and can not see what he is really like. People keep saying that he is good and that he does everything right, but when he is alone with me, I see a different side to him and I do not like it. It all seems very weird to me, the secret of the success of the project is revealed a month after it was done and by the one person who was not a part of the company then and now a success party is going to be held for me tomorrow night.
Mia and Lisa were both extremely happy, but I was still suspicious about it all. I felt as if I was in danger, there was no way that Daniel was going to do all this out of the goodness of his heart, there must be something that he wants in return from me, but what? I do not know why, but I have a bad feeling about tomorrow's party and I really do not want to go.
“Did you see Olivia's face? It was well worth seeing when that poster was pasted up by Daniel's secretary.” Mia said, laughing.
“What happened to Olivia?” I asked and Mia put her spoon down on the plate as if dislodging Olivia's disrespect was her favourite topic and deserved her full attention.
“When the CEO’s secretary was going around and putting posters up, making announcements, olivia stopped him and showed her bitchy attitude. He looked so cute and innocent with his handsome face, that I thought Olivia would crush him.
She told him that such a small employee did not need a party like this, that Sara is not fit for a party and that this party should be given to her father instead because he was more entitled to it. She was constantly insulting Sara, but suddenly he stepped closer to her and smiled when she was talking and I swear to god I went crazy after seeing his smile, he was so handsome.
Olivia stopped talking and he told her that he was just following orders and that if she or anyone had a problem with it then they should take it up with the CEO himself. He was ready to take her to Daniel, but upon hearing Daniel's name she became scared and made an excuse up, running away.
He intimidated her without shouting at her, but just by using Daniel's name and settled the matter there and then. He then left and took his handsome smile with him, oh god that smile.” Mia said, showing that she was deeply attracted to Jacob. I laughed after hearing her talk, she was always like this when it came to a man she liked, but for some reason Lisa was oddly quiet as soon as she heard Jacob mentioned.
“What happened to you? Why are you so calm?” Mia asked and Lisa took a long deep breath, looking at the two of us.
“I do not know why, but that man does not seem to be what he comes across as.” Lisa replied, making both me and Mia confused by what she just said.
“Are you talking about Jacob?” Mia asked, curiously and Lisa nodded her head.
“I think his smile is fake, it's the smile he shows the world, but you can see that he has a lot of things going on in his mind.” Lisa said, Mia and I looked at each other in shock, because it was not like Lisa to behave like this. She never thinks badly about anyone, but obviously she did not like jacob.
“How can you say this? Why do you think that?” mia asked, i just listened to what was being said, but lisa was right. Even when i met daniel this evening, jacob was standing right behind him, listening to everything and taking note of everything as if it was a normal thing for him to do.
He had heard everything that Daniel had said, which was absolutely crazy and like he was obsessed, but Jacob did not seem surprised by any of it, like it was a normal and everyday thing for him.
“I do not know why, but whenever I see him, I always find his smile to be fake.” Lisa said, clearly irritated about talking about Jacob.
