"Nicole?"
She heard her name, it wasn't just anyone calling her name it was Rafael, he came, he was here, he came for her.
"Don't come any closer, don't fucking come closer or she will be dead,"
Leonard yelled holding on to Nicole, he pointed the gun at her, Rafael slowed down for a moment, she wanted to run to him, run into his embrace but she knew doing that would be catastrophic, so she stayed still.
"Rafael,"
She cried
"Baby, it will be fine I got you,"
He said, she couldn't make out his face properly, the room wasn't dark as before but her eyes were blinded by tears and her body tried.
"Let her go, Leonard, let her go, she didn't do anything to you, fucking let her go,"
He told Leonard who pulled her even closer and pressed the gun to her face.
"You think I am a fool? I should let her go? No way, if I go down, she dies,"
He yelled at him pointing the gun at him.
"Let her go and face me, you moron,"
"Please don't Rafael don't provoke him, please,"
She pleaded, her voice was almost gone, she could barely hear her own voice.
"Shut the fuck up, you bitch, no one asked you to speak, I told you not to say a word,"
He said hitting her with the gun, she didn't see it coming but before she knew it, Rafael left where he was and was running towards them.
"Fucking bastard,"
He yelled and kicked Leonard who let go of her and she landed on the floor, she tried to get up but there was so much pain in her, her whole body ached, she watched in fear and Rafael and Leonard fought, she was scared, each time Rafael was thrown on the ground each punch, and slaps, it hurt so much to see him fighting for her and she couldn't do anything, couldn't even stand up, she prayed, prayed for some kind of miracle, wished the universe would help Rafael in any way and not let evil win, after a couple of agonizing minutes, it was as if her prayers were finally answered, he finally had the upper hand, finally he was winning, she watched as he beat up the man and left him lying still, he finally looked at her, he had blood on his mouth his face, oh God.
"Are you okay?"
He asked, in all, he was still worried for her, she didn't deserve him, didn't deserve this much love from him, he was hurt yet, he was worried for her.
"I am fine,"
She said but her voice wasn't heard, she couldn't hear her voice, he got off the ground and started talking to someone, she was so focused on watching him that she didn't see Leonard get up, she saw a little too late as he got the gun in his hand, she wanted to yell but she lost her voice, Rafael must have not known that the gun was still within Leonard's reach, he turned a little too late, the gun was already with Leonard.
"Oh God, no,"
She thought.
"Nicole, watch out,"
She heard Rafael yell as he jumped on her before the loud banging sound of a bullet rang in the air, there was a brief moment of silence, before another bang came, followed by a series of other bullet sounds, she covered her ears and laid still, praying that those bullets weren't on Rafael who laid on top her, protecting her with his body, the bullet stopped and so did Nicole's heart, more people, entered the room, they were all talking at once, the bullets they were from them, aside from the first one fired at her others weren't from Leonard but from the people that just entered, she looked to see Leonard laying flat on the ground, he looked dead, she touched Rafael who was still quiet on top her, the noise in the room increased as more people joined.
"Oh, God, Natalie,"
She let out trying to get Rafael off her.
"Rafael, please wake up,"
She pleaded.
"Nicole? Nicole, you are safe,"
He said finally getting up, she looked at him, he didn't look hurt.
"Oh God, I was so scared, Rafael, I was so scared,"
She carried, he hugged her.
"Shush, it's fine now, he can't do anything anymore, it's fine,
"Rafael, Natie, they took Natie,"
She cried.
"No, your sister is fine, we got her,"
He said pulling her closer to him, she started crying harder.
"You are okay, you are fine, so it's all good,"
Rafael said hugging her, she could only cry, she didn't know what else to do, both her and her sister were safe, she watched as a lot of men and women, about ten or more of them, all wearing uniforms came into the room and they were all talking at once, Leonard looked like a mess in his own pull of blood where he laid, Nicole didn't feel pity for him, he caused all these so he deserves everything he was getting but she didn't want him to die, she wanted him alive to pay for everything he did, as the paramedics carried him away, she prayed that he would live to suffer the consequences of his actions.
"Baby, let's get you home,"
Rafael said trying to lift her up, the motion made her dizzy, her head hurt too, she held her head trying to shake off the darkness that was looping around her.
"Nicole?"
Rafael called, his voice seemed so far away, she tried to steady herself but it got even worst, darkness, she could only see darkness, she held on to Rafael.
"You are shot Rafael,"
She heard someone say as her head continued to spin, she wanted to stay awake but the note she fought it the more the darkness came until she couldn't fight it anymore.
"Nicole!!'
That was the last thing she heard as she gave in and let the darkness take over...
