Calling Marx, Fred, and William, he sauntered to club Mr. sexy, where they catered to the tastes of the rich. He walked to a private setting, a comfortable room that was draped in velvet curtains. He had to admit that whoever had decorated the place had great taste. The walls were covered in several paintings. One particular painting held his attention, the canvas had been filled with splashes of color and swirls of brushes. It looked confusing, just like how he felt in his heart. In as much as it did not have a very artistic look, it was vibrant and surprisingly tugged at his heart.
Next to this was an obscene picture of a naked woman, with a man settled in between her legs. This place spelled money and at the same time warmth. Two couches placed in an L shape adorned the floor with a table placed at the center. He liked this place; it was comfortable and good. The far hum of music from the lower grounds soothed his nerves.
The door opened and a well-dressed waiter entered the room. He ordered a bottle of wine and settled down to wait for his friends. Just as he finished loosening his tie and opening the cuff links on his shirt, his coat long removed, he heard his friends enter the room one after the other. Marx in his loud mouth entered the room, pulling him up with a strong grip for a pat and a hug. “Hey Alex what have you been up to, since you came back you haven’t talked to us.” “Hi yourself Marx,” said Alex, looking at them he had truly missed them.
The other two hugged him almost too enthusiastically, something he knew they would do, their pats rising in strength, something they had always done in an effort to outdo each other. At this, they all sprang out in loud laughter, everyone settling and loosening up. “Dude I hope you have already ordered something I’m perched,” Fred said. Just then the door opened and the waiter returned, a bottle of wine nestled on a cloth in a tray. He set the glass and poured the drink. Fred beat him to picking the drink and looked at him gloatingly until he had to ask for more wine.
“Since you have called us out here, we have to spend your money well. “Melvin, kindly bring us the most expensive drink you have this bastard has to pay for being so rare. “William joined in the fray as he winked at the waiter. “Shut up Will, were you not supposed to buy us drinks today?” Pretending not to hear him in deliberate humming, Will pushed the waiter outside and looked at his friend innocently. This night already looked well.
They had been four, at all times, going to the same school and the same universities, each from an influential family. Eventually, they had ended up being called the formidable four, a result of their competitive nature in school. They had topped in their departments, engaging in races once in a while.
