Laura POV
I am in a dark room in one of the fairy cottages. Selene has me and her son George. They killed Luther's father right in front of me. It was horrific to watch. I keep seeing the flashes of them murdering him over and over in my mind. She will kill me if Luther does not get to me soon.
I hear George coming toward the door, and he stomps loudly as he walks. He pushes the door open. "Laura, would you like something to eat or drink?" he asks politely.
"No, thank you," I answer him. I do not want to anger him. He smiles at me. It is an odd, peculiar smile.
Selene peeks into the door from behind George. She is not as kind. "You have to eat bitch. I cannot have the queen dying on me, not before you can give me what I want," she says.
I try to stand, but the shackles holding my legs are heavy. "What is it you want from me, Selene?" I ask her.
Selene smiles and moves past George. Her face changes before me. She looks like a demonically possessed psychopath. I am afraid. I back up against the wall. Selene finds this funny. She presses her body against mine. Her long nail touches my chin.
"You are going to give me a baby, and then you can return to my idiot son. No, I think not," Selene says.
"A baby?" I ask.
Selene burst out into laugher. "Yes, a baby. You see, Laura, what I want is a chance to raise my hybrid myself, not have it raised by someone else. So you and George will fuck and fuck and fuck until you are pregnant. Then when you have me a baby, I will let you go," Selene says.
"NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! Do you really think Luther will not look for me!" I scream at her.
"I am hoping he comes so he can meet George. George is going to kill Luther for me, and then he is going to breed with you, bitch!" Selene says.
"All of this over a baby, you have George now," I say.
Selene looks at George. "Yes, I do. He is special, and he will give me many babies, but I want you to have the first one for me," Selene says.
"This is sick!" I protest. I try to go after her, but the chain on my feet will only let me go so far. The chains are so heavy. I fall to the floor and cry.
George rushes over to me. "It is okay. Do not cry. I will not hurt you. We need you," George says to me so sweetly.
He is being kind, but he has agreed to rape me for his mother. How twisted is that? "I am married to your brother, George. Did your mother tell you that?" I ask him.
"I know you belong to my brother, but she deserves to have her hybrid baby, and you will give it to her," George says.
She is controlling his every move. He probably has longed for her, and now he only wants to please her at any cost. "George, may I please have something to drink and eat?" I ask him.
"Sure, I will be right back with it," George says.
George leaves the room with Selene. Maybe I can get on his good side, and then perhaps I can talk him to not killing Luther and setting me free. I can hear Selene taunting him and yelling at him as he gets me something to eat and drink. I hear my door unlock, and he comes into the room with me. It is still dark in the little room.
"Do you need some light?" George asks.
"No, I can make my own light," I say. I push a small light from the palm of my hand and place it in front of me. I can see him more clearly now. He is a very nice-looking man. He is much older than Luther, but they resemble a lot.
"You look like Luther," I say to him.
George sits down with me. " I have never seen my brothers. I lived with my father until he died. Mother started coming to see me again about six months ago. I was very lonely out there, all alone in the world. The fairies turned their back on me, and the wolves wanted nothing to do with me," George says.
"Are you angry with the wolves and the fairies?" I ask.
"Yes," George answers.
"Are you angry with me?" I ask him.
George moves closer to me. "No, Laura, I am not angry with you, just your parents and the council," Geroge says.
"You are not angry with me, but you are going to hurt me?" I ask him.
George thinks for a moment. He has not been in the world much. I guess, Trip kept him hidden so the fairy council would not find out about him. What a terrible sheltered life he must have lived.
"I am not going to hurt you, Laura. I promise to be gentle and kind to you for as long as you are here," George says to me.
Selene comes into the door. " Luther is coming toward the house with Ando and Drake. Come on, George, it is time to meet your brother," Selene says.
"George, please do not kill him," I beg him.
I start screaming as loud as I can. " It is a trap, Luther run!" I scream!
Selene strikes me across the face hard, and I fall to the floor. "Shut up!" she screams at me.
I hear the door close and George stomping out of the house. He is going after Luther. Please let Luther survive this. I need him. The house goes quiet. I go to the window to see if I can see anything going on outside. I move to the other window slowly. The chain is just too heavy. I cannot get to the other window.
I grab the chain and try to pull it. Then I remember what Emily told me, and I stop. I cannot be doing this right now, not with what is going on with me. I have to be smart if I want out of this alive.
I hear a horrible noise coming from inside the house. Luther, he came for me. I wait as the noise gets louder and closer to my little dark room. I push out another ball of fairy light from my palm so Luther can see me when he opens the door.
Everything is all of a sudden quiet. I am afraid. I do not hear Luther or anyone. What is happening?
