The Alpha's Fairy Chapter 15

Laura POV Ando, Luther, and I walk slowly out of the passageway. The picture of my mother with Selene has been perplexed. My mother loves a wolf and Selene a fairy? This cannot be true. Why was this all such a secret? Why are their divorce papers with breeding forbidden listed as grounds for a divorce. No one gets divorced here. None of this makes any sense. We step out of the passageway and step into what is left of the castle. "Do you think someone wanted to get rid of all of these records?" I ask Luther. "If someone knew they were hidden, why wouldn't they just go down there and get the records?" Luther answer me. I think about this for a moment. " What if they did not know they were there? What if they wanted something and my parents would not give it to them?" I ask. Ando walks in front of us as we exit the castle. My mind is buzzing with a thousand questions. I need answers. I walk with Luther to the truck. "I can see the mind of your working?" Luther says. "It is in overdrive, and we need to go talk to the fairy council before we do anything else," I say. "I have to locate my brothers. I have not seen them since all of this happened. I am starting to worry about them," Luther says. "Me too. It seems odd they just vanished. Do you think they are helping your mother?" I ask. "No, but I am afraid she hurt them," Luther says. "Why would she hurt her on sons?" I ask. "She tried to blow me and you up. I think it is safe to say she is capable of anything," Luther says. "True, maybe we can get answers from the council," I say. "oh, we will get answers," Luther says. "Luther, you cannot rough up the fairy council," I protest. Luther, Ando, and I finally make it to the fairy tribe land edge where the truck is parked. The three of us get inside. Ando has been quiet since we started walking. "What are you thinking, Ando?" I ask him. Ando starts the truck. "I am thinking this is a damn mess. People are being killed over for being in love and wanting to have babies. It just does not make any sense. It has to be deeper than wanting hybrid babies or not wanting hybrid babies," Ando says. I look at Luther. Now he is thinking the same thing. "Luther, why did your mother push us to make our relationship known now, and why was she so insistent on us telling everyone?" I ask him. "She thought it was good for the pack and your people. She did mention that we could produce powerful babies, which I found odd," Luther says. "I do not understand the entire hybrid thing," I say. "Well, Laura Angel, when you and I have a child, it will be both fairy and wolf. The magic of the fairies and the strength of a wolf, a hybrid, a powerful little being," Luther says. I look at him with a disapproving stare. "I know how all that works, asshole. What I meant was, why is it so frowned upon by the tribe?" I ask. "I do not know. It looks like a hybrid would be welcomed into the tribe. I mean, I have no objections to anyone my pack wants to marry and have babies with. That is their business," Luther says. "What if we have a hybrid? Then what?" I ask him. "I guess you will teach the baby to be a fairy, and I will teach the baby to be a wolf," Luther says. "I am done with your smart mouth," I snap at him. Luther laughs. "Look, Laura, when it happens, it happens. We will deal with it," Luther says. "Do you think the tribe will take my crown because I love you, and I am not willing to give you up?" I ask. "You cannot abandon your people, Laura," Luther says. "I cannot abandon my wedding vows either," I say to him. Those words seem to hit Luther hard. He smiles, then kisses me. "Neither can I, Laura. I will always choose you and our future children," Luther says. "Finally," I say. "Finally, what?" Luther asks. "Finally, you give me the answer to my question," I say. We pull into the fairy cabins. Ando gets out of the truck. Luther leans over and kissed me again. He takes my hand. "I will always choose you, but we always have to consider how the choices we make affect others, Laura. We have wolves and fairies to take care of because we were chosen to lead. You are my number one priority always. All I ask is that we always consider how our choices affect both the pack and the faires," Luther says. "I can live with that," I say. Luther and I get out of the truck. We go into the first cabin where the council is staying. I have the papers, and Luther has the picture of our mothers. "Queen Laura, what a nice surprise. How were the tribe lands?" one of the council members asks. I sit down in a chair close to one of the members. Luther stands behind me and puts his hands on my shoulder. "We have questions," I say. The council members all take a seat— the seven fairies making up the council look perplexed by us needing to talk to them. "Please, anything we can do to help you with your transition as queen, we are happy to do," one of the members says to me. They keep strangely looking at Luther. "We want to know about Selene and my mother. We want to know about Trip and Luther's mother, to be exact, and I want to know about the divorce papers we found at the castle," I say. The council members begin to chatter amongst themselves. "Hey!" Luther screams. The council members stop chattering all at once. He looks them over and growls. "Your queen is talking to you, and she wants answers," Luther says. One of the council members stands up— an older woman with long white hair: Jo-Jo, an elder among the faires and a long-time friend of my mother. "Queen Laura, a long time ago, the tribe was not as accepting of the type of relationship you have with Luther. We were afraid of the hybrid children. Your mother was married before Pip. It did not last long. She divorced him and married Pip. She was very happy with your father. Soon forgot all about the wolf she was involved with when she was young," JO- Jo says. "What about Selene?" I ask. Jo -Jo takes a deep breath. "Well, that was a different story. Selene and Trip were in a heated love affair. They got married in secret. When the council found out, Trip was given the option to leave the faires or be with Selene by the council. He chose the faires, and Selene did not take it well at all. She went crazy. She was pregnant at the time. The baby died, which only added to her craziness. Eventually, she met the Alpha and moved on with her life. Trip was heartbroken he left the tribe in the end," Jo - Jo says. "I see," I say. I have no idea what to say. I feel like she is leaving something out of all of this. I look at Luther. He is in shock or something. He is not saying much. "Any more questions?" JO-Jo asks me. "Yes, the baby died. Are you sure?" Luther asks. "Yes, we are positive," Jo-jo answers. "So why is my mother so hell-bent on killing all of us now after all this time," Luther asks? "We do not know, Alpha," Jo-jo says. I get up from my chair. Luther is staring off into space. I touch his hand, and he follows me out of the cabin. We walk over to an empty cabin to talk. "She is lying," I say as we walk. "I know," Luther says. Ando comes up to us as we go into the empty cabin. "Hey. I found Silas and Drake. They are on their way here," Ando says. "Thank you. We will be staying in this cabin. I want one of your men to watch the council. I want to know everything they do the second they do it," Luther says. Luther and I go into the cabin. I fall into his arms. This mystery just keeps getting deeper.
