Being a speaker in a conference was not easy. It was tiring to speak and talk about business for hours with people who just started their business. I mean I'm grateful for this but I miss my girlfriend. Since last night, she didn't even answer my text. I was starting to worry about her but I know she has a reason for it. She might be busy.
I sat down at the restaurant inside of the hotel that I'm staying at. I ordered a chicken sandwich because I'm damn hungry. I turned my head to see the fishes going back and forth inside the big aquarium. I closed my eyes for a moment and took a deep breath.
I took my phone out and decided to call Athena. I put my phone to my ear waiting for her to pick up but she's not picking it up. Don't tell me that I said something wrong yesterday. Is she mad at me?
"Oh come on.. pick it up." I looked at the phone screen and I sighed. I closed my eyes and leaned my body to the seat.
Suddenly someone kissed me and I automatically opened my eyes and pushed whoever did that away. My eyes widen to see Athena standing right there smiling at me. I blinked a few times to make sure that it's not a dream.
"Why did you call?" She asked as she pointed at my name on her phone screen. I ended the call and looked at her, still not believing that she's here.
"What?! You came here?" I asked her and she nodded as she sat on the chair beside me. She gave me a peck on my cheek and I was still shocked.
"I miss you and is it a crime to come here?" She asked and I shook my head leaning my face to her. I kissed her and I really miss this girl a lot.
"Do you still have a schedule after this?"
"Yeah, two more. In 1.5 hours and tomorrow afternoon." I said and she smiled.
"Do you want to eat too?" I asked and she nodded. I called the waiter to get me the menu. The waiter came with my food along with the menu.
"Yours looks good." She said and I chuckled. I slide the plate towards her and she shook her head.
"You eat first, I want something lighter." She gave it back to me. She was looking at the menu and I can't take my eyes off her. How can she be this beautiful and be this amazing?
"I still can't believe that you're here." I said and she shifted her eyes to me smiling.
"You miss me that much?" She asked and I nodded.
"I'll be sitting at the front when you're on the stage." She said and I chuckled.
"You're making me more nervous."
"You won't." She kissed my cheek again and I started to dig in on my food. She ordered a chicken salad and some french fries. She put her head on her hand while her elbow pn the table. She looked at me and I turned to her raising my eyebrows.
"What?" I said while munching.
"Yesterday, I missed you a lot and I was hopding that you will come to me right away when I say that." She said and I waited for her to continue.
"My mom told me that it doesn't work like that. I mean all this time, you gave me your everything and be the best boyfriend but I still just.. wanting to receive everything from you. I'm sorry, I was so selfish." She said and I smiled. I put down my sandwich and rubbed my hands on the clean napkin.
"I love doing things for you, Athena. I don't feel like I was being force or something and I just do it because I love you." I said and she nodded lightly.
"Don't give me that face." I said.
"I just don't want to lose you, what if you left me." She said in a small tone.
"Let's go get our marriage license then." I said and her eyes widened.
"What? You won't lose me if we get married right?" I asked and she still looked at me blankly.
"Are you proposing right now?" She asked and I shook my head.
"I'm not proposing, I'm forcing you to marry me." I said and she smiled.
"You're acting like my dad when he's forcing my mom to marry him too." She said and I leaned my head closer to her.
"We will learn a lot as the time goes by, Athena. Don't blame yourself for it."
"I know and I should learn that you are you. I can't expect you to be like someone else." She said and I nodded.
"I love you." She said and I gave a peck on her lips.
"Love you too, beautiful."
"Mr. Redent." I turned my head and found one of the employees from the conference came to me. "I'm sorry to interupt but we just want to remind you that you need to go to the conference room in 30 minutes." He said and I nodded.
"I will."
"Thankyou, Mr. Redent. Hello and nice to meet you, Ms. Lemiere." He greeted Athena.
"Nice to meet you too.. uhmm Felix." She greeted back and he left.
"Eat your sandwich and get your butt there." She said and I nodded. I ate my sandwich fast and took out my toothbrush from my bag to brush my teeth. I left Athena to do it and when I came back to my chair, she's not there.
I tried to call her and looked around for her but she's nowhere to be found. I walked around the hall and found her talking to.. Jacob?
I walked fast towards her and stood beside her glaring at Jacob.
"Are you trying to kill me with those eyes?" Jacob asked me as I slipped my arm around Athena's waist.
"I wish I can."
"I'm here with Christine so you don't need to kill me." I said and Athena smacked my stomach lightly. I turned to her and glared at her too.
"Nice talking to you, Jacob. Have fun with Christine." She said and then she pulled me away.
"Where did you go?"
"Toilet." She answered simply and I just looked at her flatly.
"What? You want to go get the married license now?" She asked and I laughed. She copied my tone when she said that.
"Let me eat and let's go to the conference together." She said as she pulled me back to the restaurant.
"Okay." I said as I kissed the top of her hair.
"Did you wash your hair today?"
"No."
"Good to know." I said flatly.
"You need to get use to that!" She hissed coldly and I just laughed it off. I love teasing her.. I love her reaction.
