Athena Lemiere
Is it just me or what? Ever since I'm dating Xander Redent, I swear I turned myself into a needy girl. I didn't say that out loud to him but I just want him near me and be with me all the time. I hate the fact that he's going to Dubai for a week for a conference. I mean I can go but there's a lot of things that I need to take care here in New York.
He flew there yesterday and I don't like it a bit. I started to miss him and started to send him a lot of texts which he replies but still it's not what I want. Gosh, is it because I'm on my period of something because I'm so crazily needy right now.
"Hello honey, is something bothering you?" I turned my head to my mom.
"Nothing, just thinking about the meeting later on."
"You don't have to worry about that and I bring you.. sushi!!" She squealed as she showed the plastic bag. I smiled and walked towards the sofa and sat beside my mom. She opened it and yes! She got the sushi from my favorite place.
"Thanks mom." I said and she smiled as she gave me the chopstick.
"Your dad and I will go to Swiss for a short holiday in 2 days." She announced and of course, my dad loves to make a sudden holiday. He and mom literally traveled all around the world already.
"Okay."
"Do you miss Xander that much?" I sighed as I put a salmon skin into my mouth.
"Is it so obvious?"
"Yeah, it's written on your forehead clearly." My mom joked and I just chuckled.
"Lucky you, mom."
"What is that?" She asked curiously.
"When you say the magic word, dad will come right back to you." I said and she laughed.
"Have you not try it on Xander?"
"I've tried to many times, we've been dating for 6 months and he just told me to hold it until he comes home. I don't want that." I pouted a little bit.
"Athena, you can't expect everyguy to be like your dad or your granddad. Everyone has their own way to express their love for their other half. Xander loves you and even though he doesn't come right away when you say that." My mom said and I nodded sadly.
"I don't know, I feel like I turned myself into a needy and clingy girlfriend. I want him with me all the time. I just want to cuddle him and be lazy at home but that's impossible when you're a Lemiere and he's a Redent."
"Athena, talk to him and I bet he can make time for you. If you keep this to yourself, one day you will have a big fight about it and then break up. If you have something in your mind, it's better to talk it over." She suggested and I just silently eat my sushi.
"Have you and dad had this moment where you two.. are quite sick of each other?" I asked.
"A lot of times. We're ordinary people despite the fact that your dad is the great Matthew Lemiere. We do fight and are quite bored with each other sometimes but we find a way to not feel that. I love your dad like crazy but sometimes I want to smack him in the face for being a stupid bastard." I laughed when she said that in a pissed tone.
"Life is full ups and downs, Athena. We're not lovey dovey all the time, we had our fighting moments too."
"I know." Me and Xander fought sometimes too because we can't make time for each other sometimes. Me turned out to be busy or he turned out to be busy. We do make time for each other every Saturday or Sunday but sometimes it's not enough.
"It's okay to express everything sometimes, Athena. You and your dad sometimes have this big pride and you don't show it clearly. You might give him the himt they you miss him but you don't show it enough for him to understand that you miss him." I mean she's not wrong. I give him the him but he just told me that he will see me back in New York soon.
"It's okay to say how you feel sometimes, Athena. It's okay to be selfish sometimes because we all just a normal person even thougj your dad kept saying that we're not ordinary. Yes, we're not ordinary in terms of money and status and family backgrounds but in the end, we're just a person who still need to feel love." She said and I just stayed silent.
"I see Xander already fight enough for you. He did a lot of things for you to make you happy but I found it a one way thing for him. In a relationship there's a give and take or it requires two ways, I saw that in this relationship.. Xander did a lot of things already for you without you noticing but have you done something for him?" My mom's word hit me. I didn't do anything actually. It was him who always gave me something all the time. He showered me with a lot of love and it felt so blessed to feel that but Xander never feel it from me.
"He might love you a lot but if there's no give and take.. you might lose him one day, Athena." My mom warned.
"Throw that big pride of yours because it's useless when it comes to love. I know that you think that he hurted me in the past so it's equal but not it's not equal at all, Athena. If you love him and want to keep him around, throw that pride and stop wanting him to come to you all the time. Get your ass to Dubai, Athena." I was surprised to hear the last sentence.
"Are you deaf, honey? I already made sure that when I pulled you out from my belly that you're not deaf." My mom said in a sarcastic way making me look at her flatly.
"I used to doubt that you're my mom because you always on someone else's side everytime." I hissed coldly.
"You all have your dad's pride and if I don't teach you right, you all will lose somethimg in the future and then cried your ass to me. I have 2 kids that's currently have that pride on now."
"Me and who?"
"Caleb." She sighed.
"What did he do?"
"Just a lot of dump things." My mom said and I chuckled.
"So are you still going to put your ass here?" My mom asked.
"I'll get the jet to get ready." I said and she smiled.
