Three years has passed since Samantha and I got married. Life couldn't be any better.
On our first anniversary we decided together, to try for a baby and it didn't take no time before she got the positivie results. Samantha gave birth to our healthy and beautiful little girl. Laliah Densea Thomas. We took some of Gram's name to make her name and then added Samantha's mom name for her middle. Something that brought tears to their eyes.
She is a sassy little thing at barley over a year old. She has started walking more but on very wobbly legs. Tanker and Oreo love to help her walk and get more mobile. All the boys desserted us at night to sleep in the nursey by the crib. Laliah loves it when Vixen gets to playing and does his little screaming laugh for a fox.
Samantha has surprised me by another boy being a member of our family. A little dog that is mixed with several different things.
At first I thought it was a skunk and about ran out of the house. She had asked me over the phone and of course I agreed, but it made me wonder if I should start asking what animal it is before saying 'Of course, little paws bring him home.' So now there is Tougher, adding to a total of five boys for fur babies in the house.
I wonder and figure at some point we will have a female fur baby. Until then I cherish all the fur babies we have. Tanker is still with me every time I am in the truck.
One thing that doesn't bother me is the fact I haven't heard from my parents. In the last three years, we have seen them once but they didn't dare come near us. Samantha and I took Laliah out to the cemetery the few remains of my brother lays to rest they had found. I held Laliah in my arms, as Samantha laid a bundle of flowers by his headstone.
That was just a few months ago. For the longest I couldn't bare to go there but I had made peace and needed too. It felt right to visit his grave and I couldn't have done it without my loves and boys. It is something I asked Samantha if we could start doing a least twice a year, she told me whenever I want to we will come out to see his grave.
Since having Laliah, Samantha only spends one night a week at the clinic. Even though Laliah stays with her and I am there too. Laliah may be the next little veterinarian herself but we will see as she grows up because even though her loves for animals is now she is still just a baby herself.
We spend every Sunday over at Gram's. It has became the family dinner days.
About two years ago, Samantha hired another vet with how busy they had become. Which is who Jovi ended up being married too not long after.
Gram and Densea constantly tease Lola about it being her turn to marry next. She is still shy when it comes to guys, but she has been on dates.
Work with the farmers have gone great. They are all great men and there is many times we join in on some of the festivities the farmers hold now. I will never go back over the road again, my family and life is here in Blue Sky's.
"Incoming!" Samantha's voice calls out, from the stairs.
Vixen runs past me with a hammer in his mouth. He tries to dart around me. But I catch him easily.
"Where are you going too?" I chuckle and pet his fur.
"Thank you." Samantha sighs.
She gets the hammer and I try not to laugh.
"Why do you have a hammer, little paws?"
"Because I am about to destroy that stupid cd player. I bought a brand new one this morning and thankful I did. This piece of junk won't work and Laliah can't sleep without hearing her paino music." She huffs.
I put Vixen back on the floor. Standing up I take the hammer and the player out of her hands. With a quick kiss to her lips.
"I will take this, cougar. Laliah has her music on now and laying down for her nap. The banging will just keep her awake." I try not to laugh.
Samantha relaxes. "You're right." She sighs.
Our sweet baby girl, is fond of paino music and we found that out when she had colic as an infant. Paino music on low with dim lights were the only thing to help calm her the fastest way. Now paino music just helps her to sleep for nap time.
I put the hammer up and place the cd player in the trash bin. Surprisingly, when I walk to the living room all our boys are laying on the floor around the couch where Samantha sits back.
I join her on the couch, after moving around furry bodies on the floor. Samantha moves to cuddle into my side, as I wrap my arms around her.
"Can you believe we have been married for three years?" She laughs lightly.
"It seems like it has gone by way to fast. I wouldn't change this for anything. I love you so much." I place my fingers under her chin and kiss her lips.
"I love you Shane. There is nothing more I want other than what I have in this house." She smiles.
"Do you wish we done something this year for our anniversary?"
She shakes her head. "No, this is perfect just us being home with our little girl and boys. Although some adult time would be nice." She smirks and straddles me.
"It's a good thing your wearing a summer dress." I smirk, as she undoes my pants and pulls my friend out.
"Easier access, my trucker." She teases right before guiding me into her warm center.
Time flies as we get time together.
When Samantha pulls back from the kiss, she smiles.
"I got something for you."
I smile and look in her eyes. "What's that little paws? This gift right here was so good."
"Well you gave me a charm bracelet after our wedding. There is a new charm we will need to be adding. Along with another nursery."
My eyes go wide. "Are you?"
She nods. "We are having another baby."
I kiss her lips in a tender, passion filled kiss. This is our life and I couldn't be happier with what we made it together.
